1st and 3rd solo was Mark Tremonti, 2nd and 4th was Myles Kennedy. Mark never mentioned Satriani as an inspiration, he grew up on Slayer and Metallica. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck influenced him, his style changed over the years though. He likes modern guitarists like Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa or Guthrie Govan, he's keeping himself updated on youtube/instagram guitarists aswell. I think Tremonti developed his own style, I could recognize him blindfolded without a doubt.
Agreed. After listening to him for 17-18 years, Mark has become one of my favorite (and most recognizable) guitarists.
Love his heavy, hammering riffs, but perhaps even moreso his amazing finger-style picking in their/his more soft, more melodic songs. :)

WHOEVER it was who suggested Alter Bridge for a review, THANK them for me! I CANNOT believe it's taken me this long to discover Kennedy's "new" band"! I need to go get their albums.
I have my kids on the weekends and SUCKS watching a video like this when you CANNOT blast it up! 4:58am would NOT be cool blasting kids awake, and I SO WANT To blast this! lol
The entire back catalogue is immense man, particularly Fortress, Blackbird and ABIII
Bruce - The trick is to get them into it. I took my kid to his first concert when he was 4 and now he likes it even louder and heavier than me😁
@@gmon78 MAJOR love to that!!!! My sister was my metal intro, she was Hair Metal, I went a LOT harder and TRIED to get my first wave of kids out of my 5 into the harder stuff, not much luck lol.
My oldest now 20 however DOES LOVE Pearl Jam, TOOL and the likes, so I didn't go completely wrong, I just lost my other 4.... one NO use for music, a CRIME! 3 rather techno/pop'ish music or like myself, OLDER Country lol. My 11yr old daughter DOES like Voodoo by GodSmack and LOVES RHCP! lol
I am a Metal/Alt/Punk guy first and foremost and then drop to older country and classic rock, NOT a pop music fan at all outside a handful of songs lol
Awesome reaction man. I definitely recommend falling into the Alter Bridge rabbit hole. I would also suggest either Slip to the void, or Metalingus .

Both guy sing live and on recordings. It's just that they blend so perfectly together.

“Pay no Mind”
From the new album is awesome, wasn’t sure how I’d feel about having synths, but it rocks
I agree about almost everything especially about the harmonizing. However this was more of a experimental song so the structure could be overseen. The solos you liked more are from Myles Kennedy who is more of a blues guy. The other is Mark Tremonti aka The Tremonster. Finally about the tone of Myles. You should check out his other works that man can sing everything. Jeff beckley, gnr, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, ac dc. Check out his solo album it has like a western vibe. Great reaction
They do all of vocal harmony live for sure. Earlier on, Mark T was not a super strong vocalist but as he has had his own albums and training, he has really stepped into his own vocally.
They absolutely do it live! Mark Tremonti is a fantastic vocalist! And also harmonizes in the recordings as well! Mark was also the 1st and 3rd solo, Myles was 2nd and 4th. Rule of thumb with these guys, if its bluesy and has alot of emotion, its Myles and if it has feel but also melts your face off, its Mark! You need to go down the AB rabbit hole man! You need to check out Words Darker than their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall ft the Parallex Orchestra next! You'll be blown away how incredible these guys are live! And you'll hear Myles and Mark trading off vocals! As always awesome review!

Mark’s fret work is absolutely savage in that song. Absolute jackhammer of a number.
Mark and Myles are a great songwriting pair
As the years have progressed Mark Tremonti has become a stronger singer and does do back vocals in the live setting. He shares leads vocals on Words Darker Than Their Wings and is main lead vocal on Water Rising and on Forever Falling.
Btw all 3 are killer and worth checking out

The "oh there will come a time yes I know" Myles is on backing vocals but so is Mark.

@@THEDavidHeretic i think you pause and talk enough you should be fine! A guy just did one the other day and it got blocked then Alter Bridge unblocked it for him. But there is a handful of channels that havent had any problems with doing it. Most definitely worth the try!

Zeppelin, who jammed with Myles as a potential fill in for a reunion: “Guess I’ll die”
I am almost certain Mark Tremonti does his own backing vocals on the recording. But there are extra backing vocals from myles in the recording as well. I saw an interview where they stressed that they want it to sound to as close to what you would hear live as possible.
Harmonies between Mark and Myles amazing live. Mark is very easily a lead vocalist for many bands, especially for his side project tremonti where Mark sings lead....waters rising from AB is another favorite of mine....Mark kills that one live too

Hell yes they do it live! Check 'Words darker than their wings' @ Wembley'. I think they're even better live which is a mind Fk in its self. Seriously, watch them play this stuff live where you can see exactly what they're doing. It's phenomenal man. You won't regret it 😁🤘

I love Myles’ tone. He is in 4 different bands. AB, Slash, his solo work, and then back in the 90s before AB he was in The Mayfield Four🤘
He was in Citizen Swing and Cosmic Dust too. He was the lead guitarist and vocalist in both bands.

Myles does not do all the vocals in the studio. Mark does alot of backup vocals
Even leads on a few. Love Waters Rising and Forever Falling. I also love Mark's side project, Tremonti where he is lead singer as well.
@14:18 "He has to be influenced by Sach" Yes and no, I have seen several BTS vids of Mark and he is an Al Dimedia zealot whom also influenced Sach, so more that they have a common inspiration. But one thing Mark and Sach have in common having watched a ton of each's guitar training videos, they both have a master hold of music theory. Always like to see people discover and enjoy this band. Like the way you do your breakdowns as well. Have a suggestion, Doyle Bramhall II. More blues than rock, but the song "Problem Child" has a unique solo in it.
