just my opinion that creed was a very bland and unoriginal band. AB far surpasses them in most areas. if we assume that to be true for a minute we have to look at Myles as one of the main reasons for making AB a truly great band. he was really the only major change. Myles is even good enough to make you forget that AB has an average rhythm section.
I totally get that. I kinda have this weird thing where I don't pay much attention to lyrics so for me, Creed was basically a collection of cool guitar riffs 😅 But I do agree about Myles. His vocals are incredible

Not to mention their song writing! They do not have a single bad song, and there's 7 albums, my favourite being AB3. My top 5 songs of theirs have to be: Blackbird, This Side of Fate, Words darker than their wings, Calm the Fire and Ghost of days gone by. All phenomenal.

Hands down one of the best songs ever written. Lyrically, musically, emotionally. It hits hard. I knew they were gonna be good as soon as I saw Myles Kennedy. I first heard him in the Movie Rock Star. Those vocals!
I'd be pretty pissed if I paid to see them live and Myles sung like that. It just doesn't sound good to me at all. I truly believe that they are not a great live band anymore because of it. If you try to compare this RAH version to Amsterdam, there's like no comparison. Everyone was on point back then and Myles wasn't trying to save his voice yet. I don't blame him for doing so nowadays but I wouldn't pay to go see them now. I'd rather go see Tremonti instead.

what i love about this performance is how much it highlights the different guitar style between Mark and Myles. Myles is the bluesy, jazzy influenced, and smooth guitar playing, and Mark is just a badass shredder!!! such a great performance!!
I remember the first time i heard Alter Bridge. Heading fishing with my father and a friend of mine and "find the real" came on the radio (wouldve been 2004-5ish) in the truck and it blew me away. I've been consumed with their music ever since. Saw them once on their ABIII tour and couldn't have been more impressed!!

Alter Bridge became my favourite band the second I saw their first ever music video for ‘Open Your Eyes’ back in mid-noughties and remain so to this day. Then ‘the difficult second album’ was released - Blackbird. That title song hits every note for me, and is my all-time favourite. Nothing comes close to this day. And I’ll always reach for the Live At The Royal Albert Hall blu-ray to show them off if someone asks ‘What’s Alter Bridge?’

This song brought me in; and the rest of their entire discography held me! Enjoy the AB rabbit hole as I did💪 Top 5 heavy rock band all time for me now. All the members of this band are incredibly talented. Definitely check out Myles' and Tremonti's solo projects. They are all so down to earth and close to their fans as well! Some of my favorite western music for sure.
This is literally one of the best live shows ever recorded, if not the best. Alter Bridge songs themselves are great to add orchestra to, as there's a lot of space and a lot of harmonic movement and intricate little parts with a lot of different dynamics where the orchestra can go crazy with the arrangements. Even my girlfriend who doesn't listen to any sort of rock/guitar music and doesn't care much about music at all watches this show from first to last song without even blinking lol
I enjoyed your interview with Mark Tremonti like 5 years back. But the entire Alter Bridge discography is *chefs kiss* amazing! Definitely recommend seeing them live, the whole group are masters at their craft.
I remember listening to this as a little kid... I didn't really understand the lyrics at the time, but this was the first solo in a song where I could actually just feel it. A masterpiece in song writing from all angles.

So excited that you’ve finally reached Alter Bridge! Especially a fellow PRS lover like yourself. No exaggeration - I listen to the whole Royal Albert Hall concert from them 2-3x every week. Myles is my biggest inspiration as a guitarist and singer. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a PRS clinic in October and he is even more humble than I imagined. I caught Alter Bridge twice in concert this year and their ability to recreate every phrase with tons of feel is unmatched. Both he and Mark are tremendous players and they use a lot of hybrid picking. I’d suggest you check out “Cry of Achilles”, “The Last Hero”, “Fortress” or “Broken Wings” next.
Don't forget "Words Darker Than Their Wings!" That was their best performance in my opinion with that orchestra. The strings towards the end leveled up that song.

First time hearing these guys; wow 🤩. This was heavy. If the rest of their music is anything like this, Id be hooked for sure. Singer has chops 🤙🤘 (French accent) 5 hours later………. I thought this dude looked familiar! I actually remember this dude in the movie Rock Star 💫 I always wondered if this guy was that good of a singer but didn’t dive deep into my highly detailed routine of researching everything that entertains my 🧠. It’s weird I’ve only seen this guy in that movie which triggered my curiosity if I was right. I’ve been running through some of his singing career highlights with slash but feel I need to dive deeper. This dude can tear up a Ballad like no one else while sending shivers up the spine. Mark tremonti was the guy that really got me to want to learn to play. his sound his ideas riffs songs progression just spoke differently to me

PS - I am in my mid 50’s and thought great heavy rock music died by the 90’s. Grew up on 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s rock and metal and all the changes along the way.

Discovered these guys about 6 yrs ago or so. This song brought me in; and the rest of their entire discography held me! Enjoy the AB rabbit hole as I did💪

Myles F’N Kennedy - top 3 rock vocalist all time IMO. Also happens to be a fantastic guitar player and song writer - adds a bit of that classic rock and bluesy vibe.
Mark Tremonti - killer modern metal licks and solos. Awesome vocals in his own right too.
Solid rhythm section.
Thank God for this band… they completely renewed my faith and appreciation of heavy melodic hard guitar based music!

I have the blu-ray of this show. It’s probably the best mixed, performed and structured show of AlterBridge. They’re freaking fantastic and Blackbird has some of the best solo work of all time.

All the members of this band are incredibly talented. Definitely check out Myles' and Tremonti's solo projects. They are all so down to earth and close to their fans as well! Some of my favorite western music for sure.
This is literally one of the best live shows ever recorded, if not the best. Alter Bridge songs themselves are great to add orchestra to, as there's a lot of space and a lot of harmonic movement and intricate little parts with a lot of different dynamics where the orchestra can go crazy with the arrangements.
Even my girlfriend who doesn't listen to any sort of rock/guitar music and doesn't care much about music at all watches this show from first to last song without even blinking lol

I remember listening to this as a little kid... I didn't really understand the lyrics at the time, but this was the first solo in a song where I could actually just feel it. A masterpiece in song writing from all angles.
I was there watching this live. Absolutely incredible. Alter Bridge are my favourite band. Myles has the most hypnotic and amazing voices. You should check out “Words darker than their wings” if you haven’t already.
So excited that you’ve finally reached Alter Bridge! Especially a fellow PRS lover like yourself. No exaggeration - I listen to the whole Royal Albert Hall concert from them 2-3x every week. Myles is my biggest inspiration as a guitarist and singer. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a PRS clinic in October and he is even more humble than I imagined.
I caught Alter Bridge twice in concert this year and their ability to recreate every phrase with tons of feel is unmatched. Both he and Mark are tremendous players and they use a lot of hybrid picking. I’d suggest you check out “Cry of Achilles”, “The Last Hero”, “Fortress” or “Broken Wings” next.
Don't forget "Words Darker Than Their Wings!" That was their best performance in my opinion with that orchestra. The strings towards the end leveled up that song.
@@katlisI’ve seen a bunch of reaction videos to Words Darker Than Their Wings from this dvd - every time the listener is in disbelief. Myles is simply god-level by this point.
@@katlis I 100% agree! That’s actually my favorite songs of theirs, but I left it out for my recommendations only because it’s another song that Michael would mostly sit through and watch rather than try to learn.
@@zackguitar07plus - as great as that song is - especially live - it’s because of the amazing lead and harmony vocals by Myles and Mark. The guitars in the song are not spotlighted in it. I thought this channel is for guitars more than vocals (as undoubtedly great as they are in Words…Wings).

I thought this dude looked familiar! I actually remember this dude in the movie Rock Star 💫 I always wondered if this guy was that good of a singer but didn’t dive deep into my highly detailed routine of researching everything that entertains my 🧠. It’s weird I’ve only seen this guy in that movie which triggered my curiosity if I was right. I’ve been running through some of his singing career highlights with slash but feel I need to dive deeper. This dude can tear up a Ballad like no one else while sending shivers up the spine.

I’m curious why this dude wasnt all over the radio, tv etc. I actually thought he sounded familiar and I was right he was in the movie rock star at the end when Marky mark’ s character wanted to pass torch off to a new younger singer and this dude just tearing up some Steel Dragon lyrics 🐉 🤙🤘

Myles using his actual vocals for his character singing in the crowd and on stage there… unlike Marky Mark or any others in the movie - who were lip synching other pro vocalists.
I lost my Mother to Huntingtons disease 10 years ago. This has always been my release. Myles is a legend. Mark is a genius.
Well worth going down the rabbit hole of Myles and Mark's music, Myles was a guitar instructor and studied jazz at college and his approach to writing has always intrigued me. Plus his phrasing and tone are to die for!
