David Draiman of Disturbed did an absolutely awesome duet of The Sound of Silence with Myles Kennedy the combination of their voices was something I'll never forget they complemented each other to create something great.

This song is definitely a sad one as its about death, the “blackbird fly away, may you never be broken again” is a metaphor for someone passing away and hoping they find peace & solace 😭
As Myles said in the beginning he wrote it for his friend Mark Morse who passed away just when the band were recording this song in 2007, so its a tribute to him.

Next you need to react to In Loving Memory (Live) it's a song that Mark Tremonti (the other guitarist) wrote after his mom passed away in her honor. You can feel the emotion and that connection with the crowd on that performance.

The vocals on the studio version of this are so much better than either of the popular live versions (Amsterdam or Wembley). You should check that one out at some point, even if not for a reaction. A great live song of theirs is "Words Darker Than Their Wings" live at the Royal Albert Hall.

Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti wrote this about his mother, who sadly passed away. In an interview with MTV he said: "There are a lot of themes on this record that are very personal, for example 'In Loving Memory' is about my mother who recently passed away. In terms of purely personal significance, you cannot get any deeper than that. It is definitely a sad, but uplifting song."

Fun fact: lead guitarist and backing vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips were band mates in Creed with lead vocalist Scott Stapp for years before meeting Myles Kennedy and forming Alter Bridge. And this song is one my favorites by Alter Bridge.

Once you start watching alter bridge, you'll definitely get down into a rabbit hole of non stop amazing alter bridge songs... Mark tremonti which is the main guitarist has a knack of writing very beautiful melodic guitar riffs and melody lines in the songs, and in fact he writes most of their songs.. the main singer has an amazing voice where he has amazing vocal range, he goes really high and really low and not to mention he is a pretty good guitarist too (he also used to be a guitar teacher). Not to mention the bassist and drummer has very skilled and tasteful playing. So so many songs I love from them but If I were to pick out my favourites (other than this one), they are ;watch over you, wonderful life, broken wings, cradle to the grave. Anyway, happy discovering my favourite band!!
Myles is not a pretty good guitarist. Mark and Slash both have said that Myles is the best guitarist in their bands. They both have taken lessons from Myles. Even with AB, he doesn't showcase his full potential as a guitarist. In one interview I watched, Mark says Myles as a lead guitar player is better than anybody realizes.
This band is so talented that everyone forgets that this is Creed with a different lead singer!

Ah well, still a great rendition of one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Alter Bridge released their first album 'One day remains' in 2004, after the end of their previous band Creed.
Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott 'Flip' Phillips (drums) and Brian Marshall (bass) were in Creed w/ singer Scott Stapp and achieved huge commercial success by 1997 in the US... In 1999, they had a #1 album ('Human clay') and #1 single ('With arms wide open'), but the band was internally in disarray - Brian Marshall quit in 2000, and Creed scored another #1 album in 2001 - 'Weathered'. On tour in 2002, singer Scott Stapp was struggling w/ alcohol addiction, and by 2003, the other members had enough and split up the band.
With a new album of music, Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall recruited new singer Myles Kennedy and released the Alter Bridge debut album in 2004... they refused to play any Creed songs on tour. They also discovered that Kennedy could play guitar, so they decided to have Alter Bridge w/ 2 guitarists - Tremonti & Kennedy for the next album 'Blackbird' in 2007, and Alter Bridge actually built a huge following in Europe.
Alter Bridge has since released 6 studio albums w/ a new album upcoming... Myles Kennedy also records and tours as the vocalist for guitarist Slash (Guns N' Roses) in his solo band.
Mark Tremonti (guitar) had a picture of Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, who was killed by a deranged gunman in 2004.

The guy in the picture on Mark's guitar is Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. A fan gave him the sticker after Dimebag was killed and he put that on his favourite guitar (as he told in a video of his guitar rig). RIP Dime ❤

the song is about his friend Mark who passed away.
They dedicated this song to Chris Cornell literally days after his death. Chris was supposed to be playing that night with Soundgarden on that very stage in Columbus Ohio in May of 2017. There was not a dry eye in the house. Within 2 months we lost one of his good friends Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
Also the vocalist for Slash & The Conspirators - Slash as in the Guns and Roses guitarist. Awesome live performances.

The lead singer Myles Kennedy is Slash from Guns N Roses current singer on his solo albums and live shows. That is how good he is. Slash is an icon of rock music and to be asked to be his lead singer is as good as it gets.
You should check the songs watch over you and in loving memory, they sound amazing!
The picture is of Darrell Lance Abbott or "Dimebag" Darrell of Pantera and Damageplan. (R.I.P. Darrell & Vinnie, Abbott brothers) Pantera is one of my favorite metal bands ever. If you ever do reactions to Pantera I think Cemetery Gates is a good place to start. It's one of their softer emotional songs but still has that groove metal vibe they were (well mostly) known for. BTW, Dimebag absolutely kicked butt on guitar.

The guitarist where you stopped the video is Mark Tremonti, arguably one of the best guitarists in the world. That’s his signature model guitar he made with PRS- Paul Reed Smith. The sticker on that guitar was given to him by a fan. It’s a sticker of Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. Sadly, Dime was shot and killed onstage by some asshole in the crowd. Mark has had that sticker on his guitar since he got it, to honor the late-great Dimebag…another top level guitarist in the metal genre. Also, that’s a normal 6 string guitar. The lower pitch strings are fatter and easier to see. The higher pitch strings are thinner and don’t show up well. You probably figured that out by the time the solo comes in, but I’m not that far into the video, yet.
If you really want to feel myles voice, maybe you Can try " watch over you" live billboard. Only myles and his guitar...very emotional.🙏
