Windows icons are always easy to understand
Eg macOS photos app dosent tell you what it is exaclty. Wheras Windows shows a picture helping us to understand quickly that it is photos app

Lot's of people have Apple devices such as iPhones, so the Mac icons (especially the Big Sur and onwards ones) are familiar to a heap of users. Some people may not be familiar with Windows, and the help and icons help out.
EDIT: Real pros (like me (kinda)) are familiar with both icons. That's why I don't like having multiple devices with different OSes and creators. I would rather be a full Apple ecosystem guy.

I don’t understand why it is like that either. It has been like that since Windows 8. I can kind of understand, since settings is a cleaner UI than the control panel. They could have just redone to control panel to look like settings

its cuz setting is for settings and control panel is for advanced settings

In later versions they would probably merge all the settings into the Settings app and leave the legacy ones in the control panel I think.

Because some dumbass at M$ decided for some reason that they don't like the classic Control Panel any more and they need a new one. So they started making a new shittier one and then probably realized that it's not so easy to redo something that big. So the new replacement only has some of the options. But of course M$ won't admit their mistake and just go back to how it was because "new=good".

@@grxgghxrpxr and they can’t just stick it in Settings? macOS’s System Preferences is getting redesigned and rebranded to Settings, and System Preferences is gone from the betas. All the options are in the new Settings.
