It died sometime in 2020) I actually had gotten the installer from a fake Adobe download page from an ad, and the file had a different name. But I remember that being the installer. What did I learn? Don't click on random stuff. Did I gain anything from my stupidity? Yes, I now use an adblocker because the incident made me terrified of clicking on even legitimate ads for 3 years straight. Doesn't help that Adfly increased that by 6 months after adfly showed me a fake virus warning. Moral of the story, ladies, gentlemen, and nonbinary frogs: stay away from link shorteners and internet ads. Edit: I forgot to mention that at the time, I didn't know what an adblocker was, was using Internet Explorer, and not to mention that after I installed the first one, I proceeded to install two more. This had made the laptop an absolute nightmare to clean. I will say though that considering how young I was, I did a pretty good job with cleaning it up, especially with having very little tech knowledge. Since then, I have learned how to be safe online and have since learned how to spot obvious scams.
I keep my computer an arch linux for 2 reasons: 1: All packages come from either the AUR or the official repos, 2: Noone can figure out how to use my dwm setup

I wanted to download Minecraft mods a few years ago. This was almost exactly what happened, but on a Windows 7 in 2016. Rest in piece my dads money. I did not get my Biomes O' Plenty mod in the end.

That russian file dumpster site reminded me so much of a random site I found like 10 years ago which was literally someones FTP server filled with _a ton_ of random files. Not system files, but neatly categorized folders filled with random files. Pictures had random pictures, Videos had random videos, Programs had random programs etc. The files had download counters on them and folders had view counters. Most files had a couple hundred downloads. There were a couple folders that required a password that had a couple dozen views (if I remember correctly). I have no idea what it was called or where I found it, but I have been searching for it for about 8 years now. It probably doesn't even _exist_ at this point, but I just want to find a game. The game was about you "flashing" old women at an alley or something like that. Idk why but that game stuck with me for some reason.

That russian file dumpster site reminded me so much of a random site I found like 10 years ago which was literally someones FTP server filled with _a ton_ of random files. Not system files, but neatly categorized folders filled with random files. Pictures had random pictures, Videos had random videos, Programs had random programs etc. The files had download counters on them and folders had view counters. Most files had a couple hundred downloads. There were a couple folders that required a password that had a couple dozen views (if I remember correctly).
I have no idea what it was called or where I found it, but I have been searching for it for about 8 years now. It probably doesn't even _exist_ at this point, but I just want to find a game. The game was about you "flashing" old women at an alley or something like that. Idk why but that game stuck with me for some reason.
