Windows 11 has lots of potential that is missing right now. macOS has an unified, consistent look & feel across every UI, while Windows 11 shows a cluttered mix of old and new.
I'm just hoping the next version of Windows aims to rectify this and unify the design language in the OS.
The mac os log on screen is super complicated and same with the actual os
Windows REALLY needs to get rid of the old UI, and make the overall UI consistent, functional, and colorful.
I think Windows most skilled designers are in the marketing department, and they left a few non-skilled in the front-end, so that's why we get fluent and modern ads while we get messy UI in the actual OS.

the version of the wallpaper for the evening (the wallpaper changes based on time of day) is much better

I think Windows 11 looks good, but could do with better consistency. Mac OS 14 looks nice and looks more consistent. I love the new wallpaper too.

Windows Vista is still the best design make-over by Microsoft, and maybe the most consistent UI by the company. They redesigned almost every detail of the OS. We can still see the Vista layout in Control Panel and Vista animations of minimizing windows and progress bar, etc. Aero-glass design language is also ahead of time.
This is my opinion on which one looks better:
Lock Screen: macOS.
Main UI: both.
App Store: both.
File Explorer: both.
Calculator: both.
Widgets: macOS.
Control Center: macOS.
Settings: both.
Browser: Depends on the settings, both.
Multitasking: macOS, I like stage manager and Mission Control.
Dark mode: Both look good but Windows old UIs don't have dark mode.
Maps: macOS.
Alarm+Clock: Windows.
Calendar: macOS.
Photos: both.
Weather: macOS.
I prefer macOS in terms on UI design and animations but I also like Windows app/game compatibility.

Windows 11 still needs some work done for it’s built in UWP apps in my opinion. They are inconsistent, some of them still come from windows 10 like the maps, mail & calendar apps. MacOS really does this better.

macOS has always been more pleasing to the eyes. Even when Windows trying to look cool starting from Windows 7, macOS has been miles further away.
I just switched completely from Android/Windows to Apple ecosystem and I love every second of it.

People are using old versions of macOS, chromeOS and linux only because of either incompatibility or nostalgia or for YT comparisons. Not for actual serious work, unlike with windows.
@@p15209 but most of Windows XP users use it because of some sort of incompatibility. Nwe versions of Windows are slow on lod PCs. Also, in my country, most shops use programs which are incompatible with Windows Vista and later. But also, some people liked Windows XP so they are still using Windows XP. But why not to move to Windows 7? Old computers from ~2009 all can run Windows 7 well and it's more modern. Also it have good interface. So most Windows XP users can move to Windows 7 but they don't

When I compare MacOS to windows now, I find mac more visually appealing. Mac has lots of colour that makes it stand out. Windows has lost lots of that since Windows 10. It would be great to bring more colours and texture back without theme packs

We should be grateful to the author because he compared such deadly important aspects as calculator, calendar, clock and maps. This is certainly more important than system size, launch speed +program launch speed, hardware usage etc....
its just a comparison on the UI of both systems, this creator posts a lot of UI related content.
program launch speed is depends on how the program is written and the hardware itself, if you have a 8 GBps nvme ssd with 5400mhz ram, you can have 1 seconds launch on every program, snd if it is written in an optimized way then maybe less than that

anyone understands UI/UX knows that the inconsistency in windows is a disaster.. I'm using both but MacOS is so intuitive, consistent and fresh.

mac os will never beat the functionality of windows, it can even make every laptop a mac just by making a linux installation, because mac os is basically a linux with paid apps, a monetized open source system.

I love the 'new' Windows look, objectively I prefer the more muted color usage in their OS. But the overall 'feel' of OSX's environment I like much better. As closed as a system OSX is it feels more open and inviting. Whenever there is an issue or bug I find it easier to solve in OSX than in Windows.

Long time Mac and Windows user here, yes MacOS is more visually appealing (subjective of course), but dare i say Windows is more practical, as soon as you try to switch between and organize a few windows on MacOS you will realize how painful it can be.

The login screen of Sonoma is awful. It is essential that the login form is positioned at the center of the screen, both aesthetically and for optimal user experience.

This is just amazing, Apple just keeps getting better! The best of all is that Doesn't show me models styled apps like windows, for example, lest open the calculator in windows 10, previously it had windows 10 UI, but now it has the windows 11 app, and in MacOS doesn't show me macOS Sonoma GUI in Catalina, right? And it also does not bother me with update notifications, it just tells me once that there are updates available, in Windows 10, when you start up, when you login, It pop-ups a full screen ad telling me to update to windows 11! I PERSONALLY think that windows is trash nowadays. Maybe this is the reason why I stopped using Windows and i'm now using MacOS and Linux...

MacOS/iOS really needs a redesign it's looked the same for so long. It's now been 10 years since this design was first introduced on iOS and all the multicoloured round corner boxes everywhere are looking really tired IMHO. Needs a cleaner, fresher design.
