Nice reaction, now I’ll give you information. “The Wolf Totem” is actually from a 12th century Mongolian poem that the HU shortened and put to music.
The “XXL Violin” (as you called it) is the Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle), it has 2 “strings” that (traditionally) are made from the tail hairs from a horse (traditionally the hairs must come from the player’s own horse to bind player to instrument and vice versa), the “Male” string has 150 hairs and the “Female” string has 130 hairs.
The “guitar” is actually a Tovshuur (Mongolian Lute) and only has 3 strings.
The sound the singer made between lyrical lines is called Mongolian Throat singing and is considered by some Historians to be one of the oldest forms of music.
Also you were correct in the meaning of the song, basically they’re saying “Any way, shape, or form you come at us we will utterly destroy you.”
The lines “10 of us will strike as thunder, 100 of us will shatter your hearts, 1000 of us will destroy and obliterate, 10000 of us will hand you the Wrath of Heaven”, these are the unit increments of the Mongolian Horde. 10, 100, 1000, 10k.
The line “hand you the Wrath of Heaven” comes from a “story” (or rumor, this has not been verified historically) that a King spared but his Kingdom wiped out and burned to the ground asked Chinggis Khaan (we know him as Ghengis Khaan) why he did it, to which he replied (supposedly) “I am the Wrath of Heaven, if your sins had not been so great, God would not have sent me to destroy you.”
Check out (by the HU) “Yuve Yuve Yu”, “The great Chinggis Khaan”, “Shireg Shireg”, “Black Thunder” (parts 1 & 2), and “Bii Biiyelgii” (probably spelled wrong, but you’ll recognize the one I mean)

The cello / violin like instrument is called "Morin Khuur" it means horse fiddle. The traditional version of this instrument called Igil looks a bit different. Smaller in size and looks like a wooden laddle but atill 2 string. This instrument is both older than the Chinese "Erhu" and the "Taglharpe" the viking instrument you mentioned. 👍🏽

You really get it wrong in many ways. It's not about going to war! - It is; Don't mess with us, then we obliterate you!. - There are many layers to it, as the Protector, the Garuda is involved also. - It's very old and it have both old culture and deep roots into Buddhism also. - If your view is towards eternalism, you are totally wrong. If your view is towards nihilism, you are even more wrong. - Not only do you have to wrap your head around what Buddhism really is about, you also need to know some history from that time. The whole Khan history and certainly not the way Khan is portrait in the western history books. - One line in the song give a very important clue: If you come with bad intention, we will obliterate you and together with the rest, it also states that, no matter how the enemy appear, it will be met by the correct antidote. - Genghis Khan was not the only Khan. Some of them had a very close and strong relations with some of the greatest Buddhist masters at that time. - The average Joe have no clue about what the text is about. Even a beginner on the Buddhist path like me, who have studied and practiced for 25 years, still have long way to go, before really getting all the details right. - It is so much more deep and profound than you can imagine. - Together with many of the other comments, I hope you get a feel, that this is so much more than you can understand. I will actually say; It is a great blessing that you even get to hear it! But it takes a razor sharp mind and very openminded person, to get that understanding. - Glad you liked and enjoyed it though! 😎❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
