Some "facts" (someone can verify if they're correct) - the 4 front men are university professors (music) at the Mongolian University. One of the bike riders was the Mongolian President. They got stuck overseas during Covid lock downs and used that time to do "Hu's in the Kitchen" videos of Mongolian cooking (with modern appliances).
Hi! Good reaction. Here’s some stuff I read. The president of Mongolia is one of the bikers. It’s the most sparsely populated country. 30% of the people are nomadic. Mongolia has been invaded but never conquered. Genghis Kahn and company took over more contiguous territory than anyone ever. If you joined them their reputation protected you. If not, you died.
I remember being introduced to this style of music by listening to Hanngai on a Chinese talent show a few years ago. I absolutely fell in love with this style of music because I love the idea of embracing and celebrating heritage and culture while bringing it into a modern era to connect the younger generations with their history. I can't even find anything from Hannagai anymore (like their cds or on iTunes/Amazon Music). It's like they disappeared except for a few old YT videos. So, I have the option to get something from The Hu instead.
I’ve been obsessed with the HU ever since I discovered them in 2018, I have just recently discovered another band from Siberia (Altai mountains region) that are as equally amazing as The HU, called Otyken. If The Hu & Otyken got together for a collaboration on a song (or several) it would be nothing short of EPIC.
I really hope you react to more of their music! They are amazing! I love their sound and the beautiful instruments. They also have colabs with other artists and an awesome Metallica cover
loving your reviews guys, keep 'em rolling! i think you should take a look at The Hu covering Iron Maidens 'The Trooper' ... id love to hear your reaction to that 😁😁😁😁
The first song from The Hu was some years ago (I tend towards weird shit according to my friends) was called "Yuve Yuve Yu" ruclips.net/video/v4xZUr0BEfE/видео.html&ab_channel=TheHU
John & Lulu Next is either Song of Women with guest singer, Lizzy Hale of Halestorm or cover of Metallica's Sad But True. Have both of you sub-titled the lyrics? Meaning that Wolf Totem is a war cry of Mongolians!!! Don't f'cked with us!! Mongolia is one of the reasons that China build its Great Wall
react to Great Chingi Khaan( historical and acnient) react to This is Mongol ( shot in USA while on tour) react to Wolf totum ( chant warsong) react to Mother nature( slow and calming) react to Song of Woman ( for ladies)
Please before you get too behind in reactions do a reaction to THIS SONG (Wolf Totem) featuring Jacoby Shaddix... he is the lead singer of Papa Roach and they did the most amazing colab to this song.
Mongolian Heavy Metal throat singing? I am totally giving you a thumbs down for hyping this if is not the greatest thing ever. I will now watch... Okay.. 1 second in I remembered that only a fool would dare diss a Mongol with a thumbs down. 10 seconds in I decided it was indeed the greatest song ever. BTW great movie: 'Mongol' if any of you haven't seen it. Life story of Ghengis khan filmed in Mongolia with Mongolian actors. It was shockingly bloody for when it was released (2007), but probably seems tame now.
Hi you two - try another song by the group "Yuve Yuve Yu" - worth listening to and watching. AND, while you're at it: try "OTYKEN" - ruclips.net/video/tXLoP9iSU5Y/видео.html a Siberian folk-pop group with remarkable, shamanic songs, with "throat singing" and cute girls - sorry, young women...
What should we react to next from The Hu?
