At one point of my musical journey, I would of been considered an Elitist. I just liked what I liked. But as I've gotten older I've realized there's alot of great music out there, and I want to find it! Thank You for bearing with me on the beginning stages of this channel. Feel free to request any song.

66 year old woman .Metal .But I this band is unique , original music and original instruments.❤❤❤❤
So happy that you looked at this. I have been a fan for awhile. May I recommend either The Hu's Song of Women with Lizzy or Mother Nature with LP. You will love them..👍🌹🎸🎹🎸🌹
🥰🥰🥰Love and Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I will for sure check it out
They covered a Metallica song.
There's a major production in their version of Sad But True.
I’m a 58 year old US Army Cold War era Veteran, I love the Hu!
The first time I watched this video….my house was on fire, horses were stampeding through my backyard, my Chinese neighbor was building a wall, and all the women on the block were pregnant 🤣🤣
hahaha damn
Though less popular, I like their song, The Great Chinggis Khan. And their version of the Metalicca song, Sad But True. I've seen them live and met them briefly. Great concert, talented musicians, and nice guys.
Ya Im for sure gonna check out more
I felt their Metallica cover was better than Metallica original
Great Chinghis Khan is a good one
I am from Mongolia thank you so much 😊😊😊
. “The Wolf Totem” is actually from a 12th century Mongolian poem that the HU shortened and put to music. The “XXL Violin” (as you called it) is the Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle), it has 2 “strings” that (traditionally) are made from the tail hairs from a horse (traditionally the hairs must come from the player’s own horse to bind player to instrument and vice versa), the “Male” string has 150 hairs and the “Female” string has 130 hairs. The “guitar” is actually a Tovshuur (Mongolian Lute) and only has 3 strings.
I just heard them for the first time yesterday, suggested by a friend. I am going to enjoy this journey.
Its gonna be a fun time
if anyone has the opportunity to see The HU - DO IT. They are so amazing live.
Wolf Totem! I love that! Many of my friends later told me that they didn't know they needed shaman music in their life, but they did! : D Thank you for this reaction!
this was soooo good
Such a unique sound! Pretty much everyone, including other artists, are really into The Hu!
Ive heard that, this was amazing
Great seeing you react to the Hu...enjoy the journey. There us so much more to discover with this amazing band🤘🏽🔥
Im here for it!
Yay!❤ You did it! So glad you'd enjoyed it🫂🥰
And let us be part of it!
We have a long journey ahead!
So glad you started this journey. I have a mongolian friend. She is one of the few people I can talk about spiritual things like is is a common part of life. Hope to hear more, thers is so much to listen to. Have a good day.
thats sooooo cool!!!
thanks so much for reacting to The Hu! They are a great band live, so when you have the chance to see them perform live, don't miss it. Saw them at Tuska Open Air in Helsinki this summer, they absolutely killed it. 🤘
More HU band! They’re awesome!
Can't get more scarier than having the Mongols bikers warning you lol. Love this band
"Black Thunder" (all versions), "shireg shireg", and "bii biyelgee" have to be my top 3 favourites of theirs. Honorable mention for "eseerin vasahina" from Jedi Survivor
Edit: also, i suggest the band Alien Weaponry
Hell yes! Their entire second album is pure fire! I love the first one, but Black Thunder takes to a whole new level.
And Song of women ft. Lzzy Hale ❤
The Garuda bird is of Hindu origin and the lion with blue mane(Snow Leopards) are Buddhist imagery. Of course, these religions have a huge effect on Mongolian folklore and culture.
Great Song
I love The Hu. I dove down this rabbit hole a while ago. Their music straddles the modern world and the ancient Mongolian shamanic. And their traditional instruments are works of art.
Lately they've been collaborating with other artists with breathtaking results. Have a listen to Song of Women. Lizzy Hale is pure magic in that song. ❤
I really enjoyed this
It's great that you made a reaction video of them. They are a great band, combining modern and traditional.
I saw them this summer at a metal festival and they were quite an interesting experience. Exactly that use of traditional and modern instruments together.
I would think that bands like The Hu or Heilung have gotten a boost in their careers by performing specifically at metal music events. In general, you could say that my metal brothers and sisters in the world are more tolerant and open to listening to different things, although we all probably have our own favorite genre.
I just discovered this band 30 minutes ago. I'm hooked. My reaction was exactly like yours. Im a 54 year old woman. 😂
If you get the chance, see them live. They're fucking incredible. Saw them at a small venue last year and they put me in a trance while blowing my face off. 😂
The Hu are a very special and unique band (to western ears) I have seen them live and they are amazing to watch, the songs have so many deeper meanings and you can listen without knowing a word of Mongolian but understand the songs, pure musical beauty. Song of Woman (with Lizzy Hale) is well worth a listen, Lizzy learned throat singing so she felt at one with the song, and the band, who are simply great guys who love music. Big Love Brother
Ya, I cant wait to get down the rabbit hole!
Great bad and song. Love it, part of it. They sound the closest to my peoples original language I’ve heard in a long time. And we do/did throat signing also, but we also came from the same general region way back when…and were just as war like.
The power of this song is pretty much indescribable.
so true!
so glad to see someone else taking the music journey i did. used to be a one genre guy, and a few years ago i started exploring new music, and its lead to so many amazing new music and the communities around that music. love the reactions, can't wait to see where this journey takes you.
oh dude we been doing JPop, Heilung, Wardruna, and Finnish Bluegrass...its been amazing
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Heilung and Wardruna were transformative when I heard them for the first time. so much so i have a massive playlist of that genre filled with so many other groups that are amazing. Been digging deep in Japanese Korean and Chinese hip hop lately. some amazing stuff in there.
I love your reaction. It was very similar to mine, like holy shit! This is badass.
hell yea! this was amazing.
I love Mongolian Music and culture in general. Also an awesome country (been there)
Thats so cool dude!
I'm a 60 yo woman and still every time I hear this I want to get a horse and go conquer some place... Then I remember I'm afraid of horses... 😂😂
hahahaha we can conquer in our dreams lol Get a motorcycle!
Music is so inspirational
@@Pirate103 😂🤗
Now admit it, if the Hu were playing this song, you'd jump on the horse and ride into battle anyway 😁
@@deed5811 nah, I'm a certified city grown coward, never get anywhere closer than thirty feet to any animal that weighs more than 20 pounds.
❤️ love them
I think you have to follow up with their "Sad But True" cover!
Another great pick : )
This was amazing!
It's strange to me that they can be so fierce and still soothe me when I hear them. My favorite band for 30 years was Pearl Jam but these guys kicked them out of that spot! They have a couple of gorgeous songs with female guest singers, Mother Nature and Song of Woman or, if you like, they've done a couple of Metallica covers. Sad but True and Through the Never ( I like that one best, watch it live from Hellfest) Great reaction!
We will for sure check out more❤
11th century war chant ....
I would suggest to watch the “Hu we are” videos. They are so down to earth and I would like to spend a few days with each of the
i freaking love this band
bro this slaps!
mhmmm@@TheWolffAndTheMelody
Check out their Song of Women featuring Lzzy Hale!🤘🎸
The Hu are incredible.
The Spirit of the Golden Horde
Thanks Cosmic!🙌🏾
For what?
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody for reacting to the Hu!
@@DiamondHeart144 Oh, of course. This was so fun
Haven't even started this one and excited to see what you think. I listened to this on repeat for ages after I first heard it.
dude, this was wild❤
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody They just happen to have a cover of Sad But True also.... Just sayin...
I knew you’d really like that one 😊☮️
Insane dude!
This band is so amazing ! Happy to see them here too ! That's astonishing in a way, 'cause I feel a Western vibe in their music
To get to see their "soft" side, check "Song of Women" feat. Lzzy Hale 🤘🏻
One of my favourite Hu songs. You can feel it bone deep.
I really liked it
Now that you're familiar with Heilung and The HU, you NEED to hear FORNDOM - "Yggdrasil"
Ohhhh that sounds amazing
Their version of a Mongolian "haka." 🤩🤩
This is not your fathers Who lol I enjoyed that quite a lot! So much so, I stopped the vid and grabbed by best headphones and restarted the song. I had no idea what to expect, but that was superb. The instruments are crazy, the chanting was great, I loved everything about it. Hope you are all doing well, ♥ &
Dude. I think we can take over the world while listening to them
I am your father and I agree! LOL. I'm 75, seen them twice, two hoodies, 3 t-shirts, a CD, lots of time watching videos and reactions. Gonna start my own I'm so inspired. The best comments always contain "I want to go conquer something" People all over the. world are discovering the true legacy of the Great Chinghiss Khan.
Ready to ride across the steppes and take all comers? :)
Human music with rocks in it.
You should listen to a few of their songs , great music. The guys are such talented, even away from the band. They play many instruments and teach, down to earth guys .
I plan to indeed.
If you like the HU check out Korpiklanni. I probably spelled that wrong. They're from Finland. Levan Pokka or Northern Fall . They rock!
You looked TRULY shocked. Are you really surprised that one of, if not, 'THE' oldest cultures on the PLANET ACTUALLY have figured how to rock out in a modern way? And you were SURPRISED about the motorcycles? We Americans (generalizing of course) have such a narrow- and closed-minded view of the world at large. Things have opened wide in the past 15-20 yrs (thanks to the internet expansion) and its about effing time we get some real perspective of the cultures that make up this world of ours. GREAT choice for a reaction.
This reminds me to suggest the other guilty pleasure of mine...Alien Weaponry: Kai Tangata
I still need to do a Alien Weaponry reaction.
If you like a tribal feel, check out Sleeping Giant's song "Tithemi". It is Deathcore and not Mongolian folk metal, but the drums and riffs give it a super tribal feel and it's amazing
Dude - you have to listen to Black Thunder (pt1 and pt2) - similar but different. More of a story of the epic death of a hero as opposed to a battle song.
Yey! The Hu!
From what I have read on other posts, the motorcycle's and bikers represent (old vs new) Iron horses and the fierceness of Mongolian hoards. They also did a collaboration of this song with Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach if you are interested (for your own listening pleasure) ruclips.net/video/sv29DzgiXZA/видео.html&ab_channel=BetterNoiseMusic
Another great band Hu are (haha, see what I did there? Cough. Never mind) are Avatar. This is one of my favorite songs and versions of it:
Let it Burn--Avatar
ruclips.net/video/gNIuN1yE3I0/видео.html&ab_channel=AvatarMetal
Love these guys. Yuve Yuve Yu is more melodic with the same traditional and modern mix, maybe a good next one
Since your a Metallica fan and you know what to expect from The Hu you should check out their cover of Sad But True.
Have you ever heard of a band called "Tengger Calvary"?
I have not
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Was a band/project headed by the late great Nature Ganganbaigal, R.I.P.
They fused traditional Mongolian Folk with Heavy Metal. Was pretty badass. Maybe check "Calvary In Thousands" as a first song?
They are one of those bands that's best experienced in a full album imo. It's always hard for me to pick a first song to recommend for them so I just default to the first one I heard. xD
An extraordinary experience, but really interesting and powerful, magnificent instruments, cavernous voices... absolutely awesome! You should try Dare " under the sun ", or Lunatica " Emocean ", or Adagio " In nomine "... and if you want a candy that stings and refreshes, try Kerli "Zero gravity"... Have a nice day
Yuve Yuve Yu...have the subtitles on and pay attention to the lyrics.
I highly recommend The Hu, Song of Women ft Lzzy Hale.
As well as bring some of the fiercest warriors in history, they also have the utmost respect for women. This one hits deep
ruclips.net/video/mdN1U9NvuIc/видео.htmlsi=hyjWTYAsKy2G4rQ5
Each time I hear this ( on my playlist) I can't help but chant hu hu hu. And move around. Some called it my witch dance ( being pagan and all) . I just love how some music you feel in your soul and you can't express it in words how it makes you feel, but it automatically moves your body.
Ive noticed since starting this journey, Im dancing alot more
I concur
If you like mongoian throuat thinging, here is another one. Lyrics must be under the video. It is not metal, but warriors and courage is all there. And there must be versons with mongols only (no Europeans) in the net. ruclips.net/video/vztRqe_CHC0/видео.html
ohhhh sounds good!
1st time I heard The Hu, I tought is this some kind of joke.
I didn't laugh then.
I still don't laugh.
🤘
WTF is an "ex Metal elitist"?!
lol So I had an elitist mindset with music in general. I would refuse to listen to new music and stick to what I liked. I was really closed off to new stuff, and my friends used to make fun of me calling me an elitist
That's just called getting older, 🤫 Thx for that man, I was genuinely baffled not a criticism @@TheWolffAndTheMelody
