Thanks for doing these interview sessions. I have been searching for woodworking resources on RUclips for a long time and I have no idea why I have never come across Anne Of All Trades. Not even once has her page ever come across my search.

Your discussion on dyslexia and how you both have learned to accommodate it in your lives brings to my mind Howard Gardener’s education research at Harvard U. and development of Multiple Intelligence Theory. There have been many publications that explain the theory and its application for educators and learners, and I invite you to explore these both for yourselves and for your students if you are not familiar with this body of information.
I have been subscribed to both of your RUclips channels for a long while and admire your accomplishments and what you offer others through these channels. Thank you for your efforts. Please keep up the good work!

This was great 👍. I've already subscribed to both your channels for a while now and I really appreciate Anne's philosophy re: being a 'jack of all trades' . It was great seeing you talking especially all the things in common.

I had a dyslexic friend who was celver enough to get through school until he turned 15 and they discovered he couldn't read properly. he left school and took up photography as a hobby and eventually turned it into a business. His younger sister was even more affected. They decided that rater than school she would learn a trade. She became such a good welder that she ended up teaching it at college.

Another excellent interview. You & Anne bond well but naturally need your partners input to help curb your 'flaker' attributes, & I don't envy their tasks. Good to see Melanie helping out, a maturing young lady [asset] becoming a useful resource. I enjoy the channel & the humour & interaction between family & public. Cheers, from an old Aussie who can only dream these days.

I can really only work with a gallon of milk at a time, but I've made Armenian string cheese a few times. Beyond stretching hot mozerella curd, it's just a matter of seasoning.

Northern MN, Eastern ND - If you cane find name brand hand tools, they are priced to e-bay or higher. I think most sellers have moved to selling on line, as you find very few good condition tools at flea markets, anq shops, second hand stores and even garage sales, with great prices. I do believe online sales and social media have educated many different categories of people as to what tools, (hand and power), can be sold for. But it sure is fun looking for that great deal!!

The whole idea that we are only capable of ONE thing is an idea of the industrialization. Back in the past people were forced to be know and be good at a lot of things. The old masters people revere were artists, mathematicians, chemists, knew about biology, etc. and modern research shows, that people who are "capable" (meaning intelligent/talented) are nearly always capable in many areas, not just in one. People who are prodigies in _only_ one field are actually a very small minority and could be called handicapped. It's just that we as humans hate unbalanced things and so we seek for balance in other people. If someone is good at maths, we think that person cannot be creative, or be good at language. Even many teachers think that way, subconsciously manipulating those children into believing this. The same goes for attractiveness, we believe attractive people are dumb, when statistics show they are more often intelligent than less attractive people.
The simple truth is: Life isn't fair. Genetics aren't fairly distributed. There are people who are naturally gifted and almost always they will be gifted in many things. Often times they even look good, because attractiveness is often paired with intelligence... that's just how it is and instead of putting other people down, because they are more talented than we are, we should be celebrating their talent, support them, because in almost any field you cannot achieve meaningful things without help of others. And in almost every field you can achieve a lot in a team of "average" people.

I'm from Brasil and I would love to hear from you. How does ipê compare do oak? I find it impractical and almost impossible to work with ipê with handtools because it is so hard and brittle. (i'm a beginer in this handtool thing).

It is similar in texture but much harder then oak. I have done a few projects with it. And it is never fun. It also has a lot of silica and that will dull tools very quickly.

Interesting watch/listen. Have to say that it totally blows me away that anyone who's watched more than just a couple of her videos would doubt that she is capable of making the stuff she does and using the tools she does. The only thing that throws me, which is irrational and I've had it since a kid is that no matter how competent anyone is at a sport or using tools etc, if they're left handed, it always looks weird/wrong and dangerous if they're using a sharp tool.
Had not been back to her channel in long time and was very happy to se the progress on the farm and all the great content she's created. Hope that her partner has a full and speedy recovery from such a life changing, almost near death experience.

Don't make your woodworking a business. It will ruin the joy of working with wood. This has been on my mind for a while.
