Almost 3 months ago, I watched your video on the negative effects of sugar. I quit all carbs and alcohol cold turkey. I started eating healthy, eating less frequently, followed your KETO recipes and by month 2, I was down 40 pounds! I went from 225 to 185 simply by following your advice. Not only that, but I stopped snoring, my sleep apnea disappeared and started feeling 10 times better. I used to take daily ibuprofen for headaches and I don't need it anymore. For those of you reading this, give it a try. It's only difficult in the beginning but your body will thank you for it!
*I am a 64 year old man taking 20 different meds. Just about everything is wrong with me. I have 7 Drs. I lived full time in the pharmacy drive through line! I started fasting 2 days a week (48 hours) and after 5 months lost 67 pounds and Fired ALL of my doctors. Now my blood tests are the same as they were when I was a 24 year old.*
he's good, but he needs to go back through his videos and change/remove those that are defunct. Example would be his ones on getting rid of fatty liver by taking Niacin rather than the other B3. Unfortunately its been studied in the years since and Niacin increases your risk of developing diabetes 10x.
"Just look down right now, and if you could see your belly, you have too much insulin." I just started my IF journey and I am so glad that I came across your channel, thank you Dr. Berg.
Dr Berg...I'm starting your lifestyle change TODAY! I'm tired of feeling like crap.... I've had major losses lately...both parents and 2 of my 3 children....and a car accidentthat left me with issues....I'm not overweight, actually underweight, but I'm having gut issues...(I could use any prayers and positive vibes anyone wants to send..I've got to continue living for my surviving child's sake...depression is hard...but I'm not giving up ! ...and thank you!)
I think it's important for people starting out on a keto lifestyle to realize that at first you may feel really terrible. I got my blood sugar down in one month, however, I felt so awful despite supplementing with electrolytes. The first 3 weeks almost had me give up; poor sleep, itchy skin, headaches, urinating at night and just feeling weak. But I pushed through to get my glucose down. I started keto and 16/8 IF at the same time. If you are like me, don't give up. It was withdrawal from all the processed foods. I'm 2 months in and I am so glad I didn't give up. Please try your best to get healthy and don't feel like a failure of you feel crappy. You'll get there if you really want to.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. I have type 2 diabetes, so wanted to ask you - were you on diabetic pills for the first month, as you did the IF + Keto?
@@rhondaweaver4486 Thank you, Rhonda. I haven't taken any pills yet and assume I wouldn't be since with Keto, for the first time in a loooooooong time I can fast at least 16 hours (otherwise I feel light headed and weak) but nowadays fast anywhere between 20 to 27 hours with OMAD.
I have insulin resistance and was just like you described. I’m better now after 6 weeks in. I too had days where I felt terrible, thought I was going to have to see my Dr. A few times. Glad I stick with it. I IF 16/8 sometimes longer.
I love how he keeps his voice at a tone that helps us understand- but he’s not rude or blaming. He’s just telling it like matter of fact. Thank you Dr. for these videos. I’ve watched you for years, I don’t have headaches or illness anymore. I quit bad sugar and bread and I’m feeling good these days.
Wow,Dr I made most of the diet changes you are suggesting about 15 months ago, after 63 years of being overweight and diabetic the last 30, I lost 90 lbs, I'm off diabetic meds and I feel great, I am so thankful for you and 2 other Drs on YT that are speaking truth and not pushing the pharmacutical industry narrative
Wonderful. If you've been following Dr. Berg's keto advice, we'd love to share your success story on his website. You can upload your story here: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story -Dr. Berg's Support Team
I am unable to connect with advice unaccompanied by clearly understanding the reason for that advice . I need to know why . The world we live in is stuffed with all sorts of fleeting passions for life style changes that purport to be the solution to all ills .Most of us look to these so called solutions to miraculously cause us to lose weight easily ,or to have better hair ,or skin and so on . All of these miracles we want and expect to take place in about two weeks or so . After several failed attempts we throw everything out ,preferring to just eat and do what we want because health advice is generally a load of old rubbish . I say ‘we’ but mean ‘I’. Today I viewed a few of your videos and see that you offer a clear understanding of the functions of the body supported by established scientific truths . I see that you are not putting forward spurious advice unsupported by anything at all, and neither do you advise but you inform us . That offers the recipient of that information an opportunity to intelligently and freely make fact based choices. Thank you for your videos, I certainly feel empowered to make the changes I need to make in order to make a general improvement in my health . Thank you very much .
Dr Berg do you have any advice for the condition of overactive gall bladder? I was told the only cure is to remove it. I have to watch how much greasy food I eat or I get pain on the right side of my ribcage.
It really does work! ALL of my blood test stats are normal or only a very few points away from normal. I'm 1 year into a 5 year liver healing plan, lost over 70 pounds, have gone from size 44 jeans to a 34! (And I'm 60 yrs old) You can do it too!
Sorry Joe, shift change... Just got home. Mine was fatty liver with out of control diabetes. I was on 3 meds and had just added insulin to the mix. Started researching and realized I'd been lied to by big medicine and the American Diabetes Association that diabetes wasn't curable! First thing they told me, "You have to eat and take your medicine". Low and behold, fasting and a ketogenic lifestyle cure diabetes!!! I'll never go back to how I ate before. With me, I had to draw a line in the sand and say NO MORE! I quit drinking almost 40 years ago.
I started keto following your method of healthy keto, 18 hour daily fast and exercise. I am 61 and have tried many diets, this one is a life style that has and always will work for me. I'm down to 134 pounds from 173, starting April 1st 2021 till today Nov. 14th 2021. Never thought it would happen! I'm so glad i stumbled into your channel, so helpful!🤸🏻♀️😊

I'm 62 and have always been active uptill I retired, now I'm struggling with weight gain, and hardly exercise, I snak down to boredom, during the day, I need to start this today.
I did the intermittent fasting last year. Fast for 20-21 hrs, then had my keto meal, no eating after 6:00 pm . Lost 15 lbs, I’m a small person, type II diabetic, felt great, A1C went down, BP went down. Everything Doc talks about happen. Then Michigan winter sets in and I get back into my old habits, and all hell breaks loose all the bad comes back. So thankful for Dr. Bergs videos time to get back on track.
Hi i read ur commnt and ths also encourage me.I have all you have in health issues.Jus wondering while u were on ths keto plan were u stil taking meds?I stopped taking all mine coz im tired of taking them..Jus wana get help from someone with the same issues as me please.
@@lolahgets8636 I am amazed how fast intermittent fasting works for so many health issues. Keto helped me loose weight faster, however the long term for me is just fasting and I walk 5 miles a day.
I have the same issues (also from Michigan!)... Depression season kicks in, and its tough to maintain... I did do for 2 years straight (30min feeding window a day, strict keto) and was in the best shape of my life, then COVID.... Doing the whole cycle again to get back to where I should be. Started up cold turkey again, 20lb down in 3 weeks, will be back to ideal weight in a couple months.
My husband has been overweight. 6’ at 340 lbs. A friend at work inspired him to give your advice a try. He’s been watching all your videos and has been following your keto advice. In short, this past month he’s been on it religiously and even gave up soda.. which was quite a challenge. I just wanted you to know that you’ve really made a difference. He just broke 300 lbs. ! I’ve been watching all your videos and my husband has inspired me to really dedicate to follow your advice. I have a lot of health problems n I’ve been taking your advice to help me with some of them. You really make total sense. I just want to say thank you :) You’re awesome and we totally trust you ! Thanks 😃
Very nice! Glad for your husband. My husband started having heart problems. He has high blood pressure and diabetes. He went to ER and doctor told him he needed to lose weight. He’s 5’10” and weighed 315 lbs. He cut off eating out, snacking all the time, eating too much bread. This was a year ago and he’s down to 235 lbs. The doctor wants him at 175 lbs. He no longer needs meds for diabetes either.
I did keto for 3 months and lost 43 pounds. I only ate once a day and felt fine. My energy increased dramatically and my allergies also went away along with my snoring. I highly recommend doing it. No sugars, not potatoes, no wheats or breads, no beans, no chips, I made homemade baked goods with almond flour and monk fruit sweetener. It works!
Be very careful with almonds, especially almond flour, because they are very high in oxalates which can get into your blood stream if your gut lining is not healthy. Once into your blood stream they bind with calcium and deposit as crystals throughout your body especially where there is any inflammation. Arthritis, KIDNEY STONES, breast fibrosis, etc. You need to research this and you will find that there is a lot more to know about this.
I think majority of us like Dr. Berg because of the ff: 1. His videos are simple, concise, yet very informative. 2. He explains every video without beating around the bush. 3. You can feel his sincerity and desire to help by educating us viewers. 4. He doesn't have that vibe of "Hey, you should listen to me because I'm one of the gorgeous doctors on this planet". 5. He can really CONNECT with us viewers without the unwanted noise and attention seeking titles or click baits. Sending love and good vibes all the way from the Philippines! :)

Yup!! He is straight to the point! Was watching was some else and he was to much..and tends to be all over the place. Plus he is starting to look sickly. Fasting too much without supplements and electrolytes.
Because they aren't drs. They just open a RUclips channel and think they are experts. They only give damn menus but have no idea about the body's function.
I’m an 81 yr old male and have dropped my body weight 60lbs since 2015. I’ve discovered intermittent fasting and do an 18 hr fast and I love it. I’m never hungry but if so will drink coffee or tea. My goal 188 lbs and expect to reach it by summer Thanks dr berg. Colin macDonald
First 12 weeks I felt bad. Adding electrolytes helped a lot. Adding a bit more fat helped me even more. I had no idea I had such a problem with sugar. I started last October and I am down 70 pounds. I feel really good, aches have gone away, attitude has improved. I don’t get that sleepy feeling after eating. I feel blessed. I’m going to eat like this for the rest of my life.
I'm 73- I started watching your videos about two months ago- I weigh 140 pounds-I always took care of myself- I never smoked or drank or take any drug- I came to the US about 38 years ago from Romania- I am a retired English teacher-The information that you are sharing is amazing- You are a nice, kind, smart, educated person! I started following your advice right away- thank you- you are an amazing person and a real doctor!!!! Thank you for doing this for the world!!!
I fast every day differently from 16/8 18/6, (most of the time 20/4,) 22/2, 23/1 or even a whole 24. I Started Keto Oct 8, 18 and as of today I'm down 18 pounds. I'm proud of myself. 😊
Dr Berg, 2 years ago I stumbled upon one of your videos. I waited to comment on your advice because I wanted to be sure that your advice was sound and that what you said was true. Two years later and after numerous blood tests and ultrasounds for kidneys and liver , I can finally comment. You saved my life. I lost 75 pounds. I need no diabetes medication at all. My doctor says I am healthier than ever. I am 60 years old but feel like 30. And this has been constant for the past two years. I thank you with all my heart.
Well, I've so far lost 42 pounds over 4 months and I'm really pleased with progress so far. I didn't even start out on a Keto diet. I started with treating a fatty liver and suddenly, the stubborn weight started to shift and my swollen abdomen went flat - pretty quickly. It made sense to carry on so I've progressed with the Keto way of life, combined with intermittent fasting. I'm totally motivated again! Thanks to the likes of Doctor Berg.
@@donnachavez8230 Thank you. I started by introducing more fatty meat and cruciferous vegetables. I followed that up with lowering my carb intake and intermittent fasting 18:6, which I now do 19:5 - that means including my sleep, I don't eat for 19 hours every day! I've been doing this for 19 months and my 103 pound weight loss has stayed off - and I never get hungry. Hope that helps.
My neck has shrunk by 30% and I’m not snoring and I can sleep I have sleep apnea I think it’s going away I feel much more rested even without my machine! Thank you! It’s only been three weeks!
I needed this video so badly. My insulin must be so high. I'm hungry all the time, super tired, and suffer from brain fog. Time to start burning fat. Thanks again for this upload.
I started following your protocol 2 weeks ago. 18-hour fasts, 2 meals a day. I’d hit a plateau in my weight loss journey and couldn’t break through. But 2 weeks later, I’ve lost 3 kg, shattering my plateau. But that’s not the best bit. THIS is the best bit: my concentration and productivity levels are through the roof! I can’t express how much energy I now have, or how much longer I can concentrate at work. After two kids, I just kind of accepted that being tired 24/7 was a part of my life. But now I get to 8pm and I still have bundles of energy. In short: I feel reborn. THANK YOU Dr Berg! The details: I don’t measure food. I just follow Dr Berg’s guide of filling half my plate with salad/veggies & the other half protein and fat. I take vitamin B and D before bed. I’m a writer, so live a mostly sedentary lifestyle. I’ve incorporated daily walking and as much incidental exercise as I can. And that’s it 💁🏻♀️
I am 62, nearly 63, and have lost over 240 lbs (I started at 495lb) on low carb/lazy keto in just over 2 years. I am really interested in the IF, as I feel much better if I eat less often, even on keto, and simple foods work really well for me. I have had lymphedema, and other inflammatory issues, thyroid (Hashimotos) and diabetes. The diabetes is gone, the inflammation is well on it's way out, as is the lymphedema. I just want to refine the whole program for myself and get down to what is really a good weight for me, approx. 140 lbs. I am very grateful for Dr. Bergs clarity, genuine caring and generosity.
I watch Dr. Berg's videos all the time, for over a year and a half. I keep coming back to these beginning videos because they help remind me what it's all about. Stay focused out there, everybody!! You can do it.
The most profound statement I have ever heard about weight loss... you don't lose weight to get healthy you get healthy first to lose weight. I've been doing it backwards the entire time; always found myself wondering why the diet(s) don't work. I am thankful for this video. You stated you had a lot of videos and I can verify that first hand. I looked over your post history to find this type of video... a beginning to my journey!
Thank you for helping us for free!!! We go and pay our doctors and sometimes they don't get what's going on but here is Dr Berg giving us all this free advice and to be honest he's always right and helpful 🎉
@BenBenson Are you being serious? Many, many people have AT LEAST a 100 pounds to lose. And, yes, carb addiction, which does not satisfy, but makes you feel starved and ravenous, as well as the food producers who add things to the food, to make you come back for more. It's rarely about being lazy and gluttonous, rather being fatigued and ill by the foods that are readily available and much cheaper than healthy food. It's like being chained and you can't escape. The very people who provide your food for you are the people desyroying you.
@BenBenson You live in a different region with a completely different situation. Research shows I am correct regarding the U.S. You painted a broad blame card, without stopping to consider the facts. I find that insulting to these people who struggle. Please get informed about the chemicals and hormones in the food here. Or maybe refrain from such conversations, please.
Respinding to Ben , here, since my site is not taking me directly to his comment. Ben, you seem to be here only to demonstrate your knowledge and to argue and correct people. You yourself asked how people can get to be 100 lbs overweight. You even asked if it was carb addiction. I answered your question in detail, but you came back with "They are lazy and need to put their burger down". That was rude, as well as ignorant. Dr. Berg has repeatedly shared how many (if not most) doctors (who are, no doubt, more trained than you), do not grasp the real problem and cause of obesity. I urge you to study further. It could be that you don't understand it, either. And please, no more of these critical 'is a lazy thing to say' nonsense. To urge someone to study further, as I did, is asking them to work harder to understand the problem.
I have been doing intermittent fasting for 5 years, starting from 2 meals a day to one meal a day ! It’s amazing ! Cheapest and most easy way to keep in shape and meanwhile saving a huge amount of time! But what bothered me most was the constant concern and dispute from family members and friends! I have been long watching your video which have benefited me immensely! Thanks from your Chinese audience!
@@lilyvonbulo9636 My favorite go-to OMADs 1. a huge salad, using mashed avocados with lemon juice as dressing and pan seared salmon using butter. 2. a huge salad, using mashed avocados with lemon juice as dressing and a 2-3 egg butter fried tomato/goat cheese omlette with a side of sardines. My first meal of the day is 1pm. If I can finish either of these meals I will be full until 1pm the next day.
@@lilyvonbulo9636 You're welcome! I'm glad to share any OMAD tips. It's so much easier than I thought (been at it for 2 years and 3 months!) At first I wasted so much food because I thought I needed really large meals to be satisfied for the whole day. I quickly learned that if I eat the right types of food I'll get full on a fraction of the amount of food I used to eat!
This works! I was going nuts after lunch every day, craving sugar (candy), having to take a nap and continuously hungry the rest of the day!!! I switched to salad every day, avo's (fat), fish, cutting rice, white bread and cereal and the results was a metamorphosis. No more craving for sweets, no more naps, no more continuously craving food (especially cereals, breads. Thanks so much!
Hi @@Zebz92. Sorry for the late reply - was out of town. No, I specifically use seeded bread and it works great for me (it's the best low GI source for me). But white bread, and white rice, amongst others is bad news - huge jump in glucose and then the cravings start, and the need to take a nap. But Dr. Berg here is the expert, maybe he can add a cooment. Good luck! :-)
Zee, generally the more protein and fats I use - cutting out carbs as much as possible - the better. And , I am losing weight because I track my calories with a very handy app so I always know how much calories (kilojoules) I have for the day at any time. Bye, take care!
When i got my one and only diabetic blood work done in 15 years, I said, "I don't see my insulin numbers here." Doc said it's not part of the panel. I said wow, and we just sat and blinked at each other a moment. And I never went for more blood tests. A diabetic panel that doesn't include insulin levels is nuts.
I know what you mean, hate going to a doctor anymore, he doesn’t hear a thing you say & just rants his propaganda. I’ve learned to ignore him & just ask for the tests I need. If only I could just order my own tests, at least I keep up with the research!
I started keto 3 months ago and IF about 6 months before that. I'm eating 2x a day at 12pm and 5pm, no snacks. I've lost 20 lbs!!! I've been running and what I thought was eating healthy for years and never managed to lose any weight. I'm so excited 😄 I listen to Dr. Bergs videos every chance I get!! Keto and IF is incredible and it works!!!!
You saved my life I watched your first video on Intermittent fasting and started that in 2022. I weighed 305lbs and had fatty liver issues as well as joint pain and my finger clubbed and I felt arthritis on my fingers and toes. I started with two meals a day and in 6 months I was able to bring it down to 1 meal a day. I am now down to 4 meals a week with 3 days of just a healthy Kefir shake. I am also down to 225lbs, I have a great physique and now also have no joint pains and my doctor told me my fatty liver disease is completely cured. The best part is on the days I eat I used have the worst burping episodes and now its like I am relearning that its normal to eat and not burp till you throw up. Thank you, thank you I have never met you but thank you for helping save my life
I would like to know about the clubbed finger too. Yesterday I met a lady with a clubbed finger and as I read your comment I realized it may have something to do with her diet. She’s overweight.
@@hannahhope3553 It 100% has everything to do with diet. I had to cut out grains, and Carbs as well as monitor the amount of acidic foods to include certain types of fruits and sugars. It was very hard but 6+ months later it's been worth it
@@k-sizzlereacts4896 thank you so much for the reply. I will find a way to tactfully tell her this if I get the chance. Speaking for myself, I also need to cut down the carbs and sugars. If you’d be able to answer these two questions I’d be very grateful. 1. I drink 2-3 cups of tea between 8am and 4pm. No sugar or sweetener, but I do add a tablespoon of almond or lactose-free milk in each cup. Is this ok? 2. Another viewer (maybe on a different video) mentioned cutting out beans. What say you? Beans are so cheap and easy. I have a disability and live alone, so it’s easier to just open a can of red beans or garbanzos. I do this 3-4 times per week. Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.
Thank you Dr Berg, I took you advise when my doctor told me I was diabetic and started keto. I started 12 wks ago and tried 2 meals per day, then one meal, then 24 hr fast, 30 hr fast and I have just completed a 72hr fast which was surprisingly easy. My Doctor says she was shocked that my blood glucose is within a normal range now and that I can stop taking the tablets. My weight was 109kg it is now 98Kg and my target weight is 93kg. Intermittent fasting and vitamin D helped me to get where Iam and I will continue on the path to health thanks to you.
How are your arteries? I'm afraid due to heart disease running rampant in my family. After hearing 50 year expert in the subject say ALL oils damage endothelial lining of arteries, he's a cardiologists and scientist, I just don't get it. Very frustrating not to know the best way. I know exercising is very important for long term health. Ugh. Confusing.
@@wanieta9271 this is something you have to EEAASSE IN TO. Maybe start with eating smaller and healthier foods/ meals. As your health improves maybe your Dr. will be honest and lower your milligrams of medicine and eventually you could get completely off of the need of medication. I hardly ever go to see a Dr. and when I go it's usually because of an accident and when they ask what medicines I'm taking and I say NONE, they ask why not and I reply, FOR WHAT?. This man is a genius. I started keto yesterday and I really really wanted to do 2 meals in an 8hr window in order to ease into it, so I skipped breakfast and at lunch I piled my plate full of salads ( which I don’t like), and beef. I remembered that he said oil, oil otherwise you will get hungry quickly. So I applied a generous amount of olive oil, sprinkled some sea salt and added chili to it . Oh my GOD. It’s been 10hrs since lunch and I’m full. I am not hungry at all... I can see why keto works. There is no hunger at all. I am too full to eat dinner so now I’m down to 1 meal. It truly really is amazing because my food portion was same just an increase in salad and oil and salt and chili paste for taste. THANK you Dr Berg. Editing this 10 months into keto.ive dropped from UK size 18 to a size 12. I look so much younger, belly fat is nearly gone and although the scale says I've dropped only 15kg, clothes don't lie. @@antonellamicheli1082 I can't answer for her, but if you are curious as to what a good system looks like (I think I heard it from this channel): If you wake up at 8am, and go to sleep at at midnight (I wish for myself lol) When you wake up, you're already fasting from the night. Drink fluids, coffee, tea, water etc. but don't eat until noon. That's 4 hours, and it's easily manageable if you're in ketosis. Have a good meal at noon, and another meal at 6pm. Then tough it out until midnight (It's beneficial to not eat before bedtime). So you're eating between noon and 6pm (6 hours) and not eating between 6pm and noon the next day (18h) I've never done it this way but it seems optimal instead of eating right before bed and then "be full" while you're sleeping, and then "feel hunger" during the day.
@@bradleyakulov3618 Great explanation and very doable for me! I'll stop eating 7pm. I go to bed 8:30 or 9pm. I wake up at 9:30 every morning. I'll have Black coffee ☕ and Break my fast around 11:30. Thanks!!👍🏾
@@bradleyakulov3618 I know you are speaking in general terms regarding eating and not eating hours 'of the day' but ... if I'm nowhere close to an 18 off and a six hour window of 'ON" then I need a half hour for my 'noon' eats and same for my supper at six o'clock. Shan't I be, but to be pandantic so much, but this seems like 1 hour eating and 23 non eating hours. Eight if your able at 'sleep' ...aka, 'phone OFF!' I put my 17 year old grandson on your Keto diet. Although going to the gym 5 days a week for a year, he lost no weight...too many carbs in his diet. After a month on the Keto diet he lost 11 kilograms. I don't know how much he weighs now but he looks fantastic after 2.5 months!
It's mostly water weight. Doing gym exercise once or twice a week is more than enough, recovery is key.... Fat loss will start after month 1, be consistent tho....
Whoa, craziness. While I'm full on with the fasting and low carbs, I never realized that Dr. B regarded this as the fundamentals to his whole health philosophy. The rest of the vids all make so much more sense now, wow. I'm still on cloud 9 from correcting an iron deficiency that Dr. B helped me realize. I nominate Dr. B for president of earth!
I quit smoking 7 months ago, and have consequently gained 10 pounds from eating and drinking even more. I thought it would be really difficult to begin IF and Keto, but it seems the discipline required was strengthened by quitting smoking. Cutting the alcohol has been the hardest part (and not binging after fasting). I've found that hunger is a lot like nicotine cravings--if you can put it off for five minutes, it will go away for an hour. And, after about a week, it got dramatically easier for me. I appreciate the way that you present your information. Thank you. The loud, overactive presenters just raise my cortisol levels, lol.
Great, WorldWideCobweb! Keep it up! You will succeed and it will be well worth it. I will pray for you and that you will be able to continue to be faithful and persistent in your journey. Your body will clean itself out as you do this. My sister was a smoker and got lung cancer. I'm always so encouraged when I hear of someone like yourself who has quit. If you happen to slip up, just get up, forget about it and keep on going! Look forward and not back! All the best and God's grace to you!
I’m am struggling with weight loss it seems like no matter what I do the weight sticks like glue. I breathe too hard .....BAM! 3 pounds! But this year I refuse to give up and I will keep gaining knowledge to do this correctly. I love hearing the success stories below and congratulate y’all on such a major accomplishment. Thanks for encouraging a fit healthier me! 💚
I have been unable to lose weight Doctor and nutritionist really didn't believe me when I said I was eating so low calories. Cutting back drastically on carbs and the weight is melting away.

Hi Dr Berg from the UK....I have been following all your videos and I have learnt so much from you! Two weeks ago I started the Keto diet, and it has changed my life.....I am getting so much better at the intermitting fasting, and lasting longer with the fasting. I have only just began, but have lost 2.2kg so far. I have cut out all the sugars and carbs! I know I can do better, but really just wanted to say thank you for all videos, they have helped me so much, Mary xxxxxx
Damien Martinez started keto in August. So 3 months on keto now. March 2018 my doctor took my fasting blood sugar and it was very high. Last week I got blood work done and everything came back normal. The doctor telling me that I was insulin resistant at the time scared me. Glad I found dr Berg’s videos.
IDK how to change the order of the videos and playlists, but because I'm a certified holistic health coach who loves to help people connect the dots in their lives, I have created several different playlist topics and one specifically is KETO. I'll share the overlapping within other playlists too so to help those who still are used to a diagnosis name rather than supporting the body system function thought process.
Quite frankly, I love the way Dr. Berg talks and teaches. I dont feel yelled at, or as though someone is only "showing off" their supposedly better figure. Thank you sir
Eric, I began full on Keto just over 3 months ago. I followed closely all of your main videos. Daily I have combined intermittent fasting with exercise and a complete Keto diet spread between 2 meals, at lunch time and dinner. For the fasting I have always been between 16 and 18 hours. During the morning and until lunch time I have been fine with just 1 coffee and perhaps one green tea or other infusion. For the coffee I included 1 small teaspoon of 100% Cocoa and 1 spoon of MTC oil. My weight loss has been between 300g and 400g per week, which I prefer, as I think it's not too drastic. The results have been astonishing! I started at 87 kg, now at 76 kg (just over 24lbs). I also feel so much better, no more feeling bloated and tired, I'm more alert, sleeping better, concentrating better. Eric you have truly changed my life and there just aren't enough words to thank you.
I feel, after watching hundreds of your videos, that you REALLY want to help people by educating them and encouraging them to eat and live healthier, and therefore happier lives. I am so grateful for the things I learn from you. While I will always avoid eating critters, the changes I've made - in particular regular olive oil slathered big salads straight from my garden, and Benfotamine on the rare days I eat toast, and Niacin, taken just before sleep as the flush can be alarming ~ these things and so many more have made such a big difference to my skin, to my mind, my eyesight and my life. As you say, I wish I knew this information when I was a teenager ~ and I'm grateful for it now ~ thank you SO much for presenting it in a way I can absorb easily. You are the Benfotamine to my Thiamine, the natural Vitamin A to my Beta Carotene ~ in short, Sir, you are a legend and I appreciate what you do here on youtube!
He make money from RUclips ofcourse and limited information too but if I am watching him from Germany and he is helping me, don't need to say much. Let him earn more money.
@@JBoy340a sad. My two granny's were different. One used a lot of fat (margarine) on the veggies because that was the teaching at the time. The other real butter. They both came through war rationing. Our meals were healthy with no pig outs. MY TWO grannies lived to be 91 and 92. Beautiful women.
If you eat all of that on a regular basis... without all the other junk and processed foods??😮 You're like in the top 1% of people your age in terms of living a healthy lifestyle
I know this is an older video, but to anyone who is skeptical about the keto diet and intermittent fasting I can tell you that it works! I'm 31 yrs old. I had my gallbladder removed about 4 years ago and I am pre-diabetic. I started a 23/1 intermittent fasting routine with a healthy keto diet 2 weeks ago. I started at 276 lbs and in just the 2 weeks I'm down to 259! I'm sure most of this is water weight, but some of it is fat too. The first few days were difficult for me to not go eat at night, but the longer I stick with it the easier it gets! I've tried dieting so many times before and it has never worked, I could never stick with it because I was still left hungry at the end of the day. But the keto diet makes fasting so much easier, because I don't feel hungry later on in the day after I eat. I wish I would have tried the keto diet years ago, I might still have my gallbladder if I did! Not having a gallbladder does create some digestive issues for me, but the keto diet has been fairly easy on my stomach.
Thank you for sharing. I’m new to all this. When you are doing fasting your electrolytes and minerals don’t go too low ? That’s what I’m experiencing and having hard time to figure out how to keep electrolytes in balance. I get blurry vision and feel so week. I don’t feel hungry but I know I’m fighting with keeping my electrolytes up. Can you please share your experience. Thank you so much

I'm so grateful for this. As a beginner, Keto is overwhelming and there's so much info on the net it's challenging to know where to start and what's safe! Thanks Dr. Berg. 👍
I have been doing intermittent fasting where I only eat one meal at night, and I am not hungry nor feeling weaker! And I am doing great. As you rightly say Dr. Berg, your body adjust to eating less where you no longer feel hungry or like eating. I will continue doing it for as long as I want.

I’m on day 81 of Keto, have lost 20 pounds so far, I alternate with IF everyday doing 16, 18, 22 and I take a break on Saturday’s with IF every other week, I feel great and I am losing weight. Keto really does work and is something I will do for the long haul, I don’t feel deprived because there are so many great Keto recipes to choose from. Your content is incredible and very educational.
Congratulations! I did keto too, started in 2012 and by 2013 I was looking sick according to my friends who got used to me being fat. Be careful, don't deprive yourself all the time because it will come back. I hope for your sake you don't fall. I'm pulling for ya!
I wanted to let you know that I started watching and applying your videos about 1 1/2 years ago, because I had diabetes and a 17 percent oversized liver (two of my uncles died of liver cancer). I now have normal sugar levels and I am off my diabetic medication. My liver is back to normal size. I have been off my medication for 4 months now with a 5.5 A1C. Thank you for all your help. I was referred to your site by others that had the same results.
I didn't think it as humour because I thought that I may be a bit fatty but my BMI is under control and now as I got belly fat, I think Dr Berg is right when he says that your stomach swells or your belly grows if there is Insulin resistance because what I eat is mostly Sugar and carbs
@@gauravashq oh trust me, I agree! I once looked hot in a bikini until I hit menopause and now I look down and I can see what he’s talking about and I can laugh at myself about it even though it really sucks!
I lost 50 lbs (200 to 150 lbs) in 3.5 months. Dr Berg, your program has saved my life. I was so ill and happened on to one of your fatty liver videos. Then I continued to learn more and decided to try. I look great and I feel fabulous. People cant believe I’ve accomplished this at this age. I scarcely can myself. But this has given me boundless energy and joy for living. Thank you!❤️
1.- Eliminate carbs. 2.- Eat less frequently. These two things alone are the basis for a healthier lifestyle. Ketogenic diet + Intermittent fasting = healthier life style. If you truly understand these two basics and apply them, then you're already halfway to getting healthier. Repeat them. Memorize them. Internalize them. Write them down so they become part of you, of your lifestyle. It's your health first (you in command) or whatever society dictates. You choose. There are only two ways.
Your plate should consist of 1/2 vegetables and 1/2 meat, fish, eggs, nuts, cheese, butter, cream, olive oil, coconut oil, bone broth, offal, and shellfish. Eliminate everything else including potatoes, corn, milk, fruit, and fruit juice. This is MUCH easier to comprehend. Many people that walk into my clinic don't even know what a carbohydrate is, and that sugar is only in candy and soda, and is that white granular stuff they spoon into their coffee of tea. If I start talking carbs, proteins, and fats, their face just goes blank.
Raymundo Serrano You CAN'T technically eliminate carbs because carbs are present in vegetables, but in very low amounts, so low they don't pull you out of ketosis even if you eat lots of vegetables. When I say eliminate carbs, I'm referring to all these people who still want to have a cheat day every now and then, or those who want to be able to eat carbs but in amounts they themselves consider low, but that aren't sufficiently low to put you or keep you in keto mode. In other words, this is a full compromise. If you're going to start speculating with the diet, what's the point of doing it in the first place? It won't accomplish the purpose for which it is intended, namely drastically reduce carbs and meal frequency to keep insulin as low as possible.
Can you tell me what you eat in that 1 meal? I get confused with the 3 mistakes of keto....ie too much berries or too much fat etc Can you give an example of thr amount in that 1MAD? Easy to over eat or under eat! What time do you eat your only meal? Do you vary that?

@katierebeccajackson oh and I eat after I get home from work so im burning my calories in the day fully fasted, i get home typically between 5pm-7pm depending on when I get off. But my eating window is around 1 hour more or less. I also SOMETIMES have a snack within a couple of hours after, either dried fruit or pickles.

Dr. Berg, I just wanted to thank you for all of your helpful videos. The best validation of your advice is the results. Healthy Keto and Intermittent Fasting have literally changed my life. When you follow this plan like a soldier, you lose weight, feel great and never feel hungry. I was 293 lbs at the beginning of May 2022 and was experiencing a host of health problems related to obesity. I started Dr. Berg's healthy keto and intermittent fasting diet and as of yesterday morning have officially lost 50 lbs and 6 inches off of my waist. I have 23 lbs to go to reach the weight I was when I got married, and 53 lbs to reach the weight I was when I was swimming 2-a-days for various swim teams my senior year in high school.
This really works!! I lost 25 pounds so far and my numbers are great. Started at 288 blood sugar now 85. Blood pressure from 120/80 to 110/58. A1c down from 9.4 to 5.4. Lost my belly had a beer ball now I have a six pack. Looking better and feeling better at 51 than 25. Do exactly what Doctor Berg says and it works. Oh yeah I do one meal a day not hungry at all. Thanks Doc!!
This is the best diet, I did with my own instinct last year and have lost 60 pounds in 6 month without pain. Without being hungry, feeling better and better every day. Stop drinking alcohol and sodas, fast 6 days a week. Eat eggs, remove most of carbs just a little piece at midday : and vegetables at night. Some exercice and start to live yourself again ! Just discovered your videos and loving them already !
I have lost forty-nine sometimes a 50lb doing this. I feel completely satiated on this diet I don't really want to call it a diet it's a lifestyle change. I was addicted to sugar and still am. I stay away from it or it creates a bulimic affected my body and I will not tolerate that ever again. Thank you dr. Berg for offering all your good advice. You have saved my life and changed my life.
Hello Dr. Berg. So, about two years ago I followed your advice and completely cured my Psoriasis but for a long time suffer from high BP. Naturally I am vegan, I keep a close eye on my Sodium intake. I exercise and run daily. But I do suffer from work related stress. Anyway after consulting my doctor and taking pills to lower blood pressure I could not lower it. Sometime for a short period of time I saw some improvement but it did not last. My BP was in the vicinity of 150/105 sometime higher. I suffered from sever headaches and anxiety that I am days from getting a stroke. When I started following your videos I wasn't sure but I said what the heck, you helped me before, i'll give it a try. I kicked off with a 3 days full water fast followed by IF of 18/6. I started Monday. It is Saturday. I took no medications, just followed your videos and nutrition advice. i just measured my BP and it was 117/79. I have never seen such numbers since I started measuring about 2 years ago. Also headaches gone. Lost 4 KG. And feeling just awesome, So just wanted to say - a BIG thank you!
Hi. Since u r vegan, I just wanted to suggest using Hibiscus tea and grapefruit. Worked for my friends with high BP very well. Specially Hibiscus tea. Hope it helps. :)

Thank you Dr. Berg for educating people and helping humanity in eating healthy food. Your videos-which I have saved them-are great eye openers! 🙌👍👏
Dr. Berg. Your explanation is so simple it is brilliant. I have done what you say here for 4 weeks now and I have lost 15 lbs. My arthritic pain has lessened, and most of all, this is so easy. I no longer have nervous eating and I have just started. You are correct, it is not a diet, it is just a matter of changing how much and how often you eat. The good foods keep me satisfied rather than making me hungry. Also, I have never been a big sugar or carb person. This is so easy to do, people just need to atch your videos.
Just a note to say thank you for your videos. I've learned so much over the last two months. I started the keto diet 12 weeks ago and intermittent fasting 6 weeks ago. I'm down 30 lbs. and feeling great! You are literally a lifesaver!
It has been a year for me since starting this way of life. Many health improvements, and free of BP meds, reversed type 2. It was a year ago that I saw this video, and everthing seems so strange, but it will reward you with great blessings.

Thanks Dr. Eric!!! Because of you I dropped 40 pounds within 3.5 months with no exercise! I never thought I could do it, but it really happened. Consistency is the key, you have to maintain keto and be patient. Then BOOM, your family starts noticing and clothes start fitting again. Soooo cool. Anyway, I stopped keto, but am shooting for dropping 20.

You have no idea how i feel so light, confident and happy right now. Ruhama from Portland, Oregon!

Okay I’m sold as ur same age same weight range peer !!! I g2 give this a go….
May I ask what kind of exercise you do, how often, and whether you do it while fasting or an hour after eating?
I'm 62 and have always been active uptill I retired, now I'm struggling with weight gain, and hardly exercise, I snak down to boredom, during the day, I need to start this today.
Wow this is amazing. I’m staring also and I’m right now at what you were. I’m curious how it goes for me. I have a lot of health issues
If you are starting here this will be the first of many life saving videos.

! Is your husband also working out ?

It works!
No beans???
@@mashaserafina1927 beans are high in carbs
Be very careful with almonds, especially almond flour, because they are very high in oxalates which can get into your blood stream if your gut lining is not healthy. Once into your blood stream they bind with calcium and deposit as crystals throughout your body especially where there is any inflammation. Arthritis, KIDNEY STONES, breast fibrosis, etc. You need to research this and you will find that there is a lot more to know about this.
What about rice?
@@chrisdaly-bb9tgNo, no rice either, mostly meat and green veggies. I had pork skins for my chip cravings too.
I think majority of us like Dr. Berg because of the ff:

Good for your age keep going.
That's great, well done. I'm on day 5, got headaches and aches and pains.
So how long do we fast for. Is it just one meal a day for life now? I don't get the time frame.

Robert how did you treat your fatty liver?
Congratulations on doing so well. How did you treat your fatty liver?
@@donnachavez8230 Thank you. I started by introducing more fatty meat and cruciferous vegetables. I followed that up with lowering my carb intake and intermittent fasting 18:6, which I now do 19:5 - that means including my sleep, I don't eat for 19 hours every day!

how is it going now?
Hi Jesse. How is it going on?
Oi mate!
The details:
I don’t measure food.

How is it going now? Good job!

My wife started keto august 2018 and by feb 2019, she lost 100 pounds even. This works amazing. I am now doing it!
It's actually rather fun!
Did she also do excersices?
What kind?

Is seeded bread ok or do you have to cut it out totally?

Dear Michelle..how many hours is your intermitent fasting?
@@antonellamicheli1082 I can't answer for her, but if you are curious as to what a good system looks like (I think I heard it from this channel):
If you wake up at 8am, and go to sleep at at midnight (I wish for myself lol)
When you wake up, you're already fasting from the night. Drink fluids, coffee, tea, water etc. but don't eat until noon. That's 4 hours, and it's easily manageable if you're in ketosis. Have a good meal at noon, and another meal at 6pm. Then tough it out until midnight (It's beneficial to not eat before bedtime).
So you're eating between noon and 6pm (6 hours) and not eating between 6pm and noon the next day (18h)
I've never done it this way but it seems optimal instead of eating right before bed and then "be full" while you're sleeping, and then "feel hunger" during the day.

Eight if your able at 'sleep' ...aka, 'phone OFF!'
This leaves 15 hours of 'Phone ON' time to split best as one can in two, divided to best suit an Individual Case Scenario (ICS).
I put my 17 year old grandson on your Keto diet.

Because of you Dr. Berg I’m not insulin resistant anymore!!
Awesome! how long did it take you?
Damien Martinez started keto in August. So 3 months on keto now. March 2018 my doctor took my fasting blood sugar and it was very high. Last week I got blood work done and everything came back normal. The doctor telling me that I was insulin resistant at the time scared me. Glad I found dr Berg’s videos.

Make a playlist on your channel about Keto and start with this video. On top of your channel so people can find it easier

Udar Pavarota then you should of said that from the beginning.
Raymundo Serrano E-LI-MI-NATE THE CARBS!!! How else do you want me to put it?
I understood what you meant. Eliminate carbs other than vegetables.
Thank you for the videos! I've lost 40 lbs so far in such a short time. I've never felt better! This is life changing and such a blessing! Thank you!

Hello Dr.
How has your anxiety been after this? I developed anxiety so I am curious if this also helped. Thanks!
