      FYI. Elijah Muhammad from Nation of Islam and the NOI are the founders of intermittent fasting. The NOI has been practicing, and recomending intermittent fasting since the 1930s. Elijah Muhammad published an entire book about intermittent fasting in 1967 called "Eat To Live". NOI members to this day eat 1 meal per day or 1 meal every other day.

So a year ago I started fasting 24 to 48 hours, typically I eat one meal 3-4 times a week. I’ve lost over 100lbs and I feel amazing. @@nickijaycox7773OMAD can be tricky bc you still need to cram 1200+ cals into a single meal and your goal is to not spike your insulin the rest of the day with drinks.
      The easiest way to do OMAD is to try it once a week. Allow yourself time to research healthy/calorie sufficient OMAD meals, then do it twice a week.
      There’s no one meal plant that fits all nutrition/weight goals and you may not even need to do OMAD to reach your goals. 2 meals a day in a 6 hour (18 fasting hours) window is extremely powerful if you’re not at that level yet. Best of luck!!

    I’ve been recommending that people who neither believe nor have been educated on the physiology of fasting/keto read your very excellent information. Got blasted last night by a nurse with a masters in biology/physiology because she thinks that people need to stuff themselves with carbs and that the only reason IF works is the decrease in calories.
    I once again said to listen to you and read your well written books.

      @okcarter2404 3 месяца назад +2

      @philipreed6893 OMAD is One Meal A Day (2MAD is the acronym for 2 Meals A Day). It is a way to restrict calories, wuthout drastically cutting caloies, and it allows the body to adjust its hormone regulation by eliminating frequent hormone, such as insulin, spikes. Paired with exercise (calisthenics, weight training, & interval training), OMAD can steady "remake" your body and spirit no matter your age. Younger people & very physically active people may be better served by 2MAD eaten in a scheduled 4-to-8 hour period every day. There are many, many RUclips videos on OMAD & some on 2MAD. Best wishes on your personal enrichment journey.

    There’s NOTHING bad for you in intermittent fasting (unless you have a condition that requires you to eat at times) and it only benefits the individual, without having to spend money. I use intermittent fasting to maintain my weight at my desired result for years and it absolutely works.

    I read Dr. Fung's book The Obesity Code back around 2014 or 15, and following his plan/advice changed my entire body and what it accepts - it's a great thing. I've never felt better and the weight just drops off, I eat once a day, and I'm never hungry now that I don't eat junk. So much energy all the time, my mind is clear - life changing is an understatement.

    Eating only once a day for past 3 months and i can say he is absolutely correct. For every diet you may loose body fat but not belly fat. But if you eat only once a day then you will notice you are loosing belly fat really quickly just in 2 weeks.

      The reason is because of calories. The law of thermodynamics. If you burn more calories than you eat then you will lose weight. So by eating once a day you will limit the amount of calories that you eat. Another thing you cannot target body fat. When you lose fat it happens all over your body.

    Dr Fung is absolutely brilliant. He’s in a class by himself.
    It amazes me how little we know about the hormonal systems in the body. We look at glucose, carbs, protein and fat but our comprehension of the hormones that respond to and call for them.
    Would love to see a program on that helps to illuminate what we know we don’t know and what we don’t know that we don’t know. Call it lucid ignorance but it’s an important step for any understanding.
    When we have that understanding, our silly model of protein/carb/fat will blossom into something meaningful and real.
