My husband has practiced fasting forever without knowing it was a "thing". It just suited him. He had a beautiful physique (surfer) and boundless energy. For years I have been telling him "you must eat breafast" or "going all day without food is not healthy" OMG how wrong did i get it. The slightly overweight wife with a few health issues started following your advice 6 months ago. Slow but sure, down 6 kg, unexplained joint pain has gone along with a few other issues. Thak you Dr Berg.

Im 41 years old, obese, pre-diabetic, horribly high blood pressure, and with chronic excruciating back pain for the last 15 years. Ive actually contemplated suicide at times I was so miserable. I started Keto and 20/4 IF a month ago and for the first time in 15 years I have no back pain and am no longer having blood sugar problems, and my blood pressure is almost normalized. Ive also lost 38lbs. For 15 years I have been to brain and spine doctors , had 4 MRIs, 15 or so Xrays, and was prescribed everything from Blood pressure meds to valium to cyclobenzaprines and even opiates at times. I cant believe I was actually just making it worse the entire time by gulping down loads of sugar and carbs. Something is VERY wrong in our healthcare system and doctors if after 15 years Im on RUclips desperate for relief. But DR BERG SAVED MY LIFE.

After 3 months of keto the acute arthritis that reacted to barometric pressure and the weather, the psyorisis, 15 kg excess weight, and the urgent need for knee replacement, all gone. My mobility has been restored along with quality of life. I am 82. Profound thanks! Now to work on fasting!!!!

Tip #1 - Have MCT oil in your coffee every morning to reduce hunger and cravings. Start with one tablespoon.
Tip #2 - Blend one whole lemon in water. This provides a boost of vitamin C and phytonutrients. Add stevia or electrolyte powder to enhance the flavor and nutrients.
Tip #3 - Have one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water in the afternoon. This helps improve insulin sensitivity and energy.
Tip #4 - Have a large salad before each meal to help you achieve 7 to 10 cups of vegetables a day.
Tip #5 - Add non-fortified nutritional yeast flakes to your salad and other foods to replenish your B vitamins, reduce stress, and enhance flavor.
Tip #6 - Replenish electrolytes and B vitamins to prevent keto flu symptoms.
Tip #7 - Have 3 to 6 oz of protein per meal. You can have up to 8 oz if you exercise and have a great metabolism.
Tip #8 - Add additional fat to the end of your meal to increase your fasting window and reduce cravings.
Tip #9 - Increase the quality of your foods. Always choose organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, and wild-caught products-they contain more nutrients. Avoid processed foods.
Tip #10 - Use herbal tea to help you fast longer.
Tip #11 - Don’t snack-especially after dinner and during your fasting window. Never keep snack foods in your home.
Tip #12 - Get quality sleep. Poor sleep increases cortisol, hunger, and cravings. Exercise and sun exposure during the day will increase melatonin at night. Vitamin B1 and 10,000 IU of vitamin D will also help improve your sleep.
Tip #13 - Replenish your electrolytes after exercise with sea salt, vegetables, and electrolyte powder.
Tip #14 - Check all products for hidden ingredients, like unhealthy artificial sweeteners, sugar, maltodextrin, and carbs.
Tip #15 - If your appetite is gone, you know it’s working.
Tip #16 - Something is better than nothing. Do dirty keto and work your way up to Healthy Keto if you need.
    Thank you Dr Berg!! 🐱👍🏿

I went to hospital and the doctor told me that I have high bad cholesterol and my blood pressure was high and I gained more weight yet I am this person who minds what I eat.
He prescribed some medication of which I did not take. I was supposed to go back for review after 3 weeks. I was very disturbed and I felt disappointed in myself. I fasted for 15 days, only drinking water and honey for some days. When I went back for review, he couldn't believe that everything was very fine and he asked how I made and I give my story and he was very happy and impressed. I learnt that there is magic in fasting.

Excellent refresher. Starting my second year of keto. I lost 45 lbs the first 6 months to 200 lbs. the second 6 months, I maintained but didn’t drop below 200 lbs. There were some life altering changes that added to this, moving across country, retiring, snow and ice during the winter and husband’s illness. So now I am ready to take myself down another 45 lbs. This helped me figure out when to take the lemon juice, ACV, MCT oil and yeast supplements more regularly. I was a bit more haphazard with them before. Here’s to year two.

Hi Dr. Berg. I started intermittent fasting on April 1st. I was surprised by how easy it was for me to adapt to the 16/8 program. It was so easy, that I was able to jump to 18/6 shortly thereafter. I am reaping all the benefits without feeling hungry or tired. I am able to sleep better, I'm almost never hungry, and I've lost quite a lot of fat from my mid section and everywhere else. I am certain that I have a food addiction and nothing was going to change it until I found your videos. I think I am ready to do one meal a day now and I'm not the least bit concerned about being hungry.

@Sumra Rehman I started my new way of eating with fasting only. I used to be the kind of person that had to eat breakfast, immediately, upon waking up in the morning. It didn't matter if it was 5 am or 10 am; it was the first thing I trained my body to do (or else, i felt like i was going to die lol). After watching Dr. Berg for a few weeks, I decided to skip that first-thing-in-the-morning meal. It was a little hard, the first, and maybe, second day, but it wasn't long before it became easy. I did forget once or twice and, by force of habit, I ate something during the morning, but that was okay; I didn't beat myself up over it. The first weeks, between 12 - 8, I just ate whatever. I didn't restrict myself, although I was more conscious about all the sugars, and opted to keep them away. Everything has sugar in it so that was a tiny bit challenging. Now, I try to fast from past 12 until 5, and it's not hard at all. I keep myself busy in the morning until noon; when i eat, i try to eat lots of cruciferous vegetables, raw and/or cooked, with some protein and fat. I'm not hungry or fatigued and I'm burning fat from all over my body like never before. I have started taking supplements that Dr. Berg recommends and I am stopping the foods that he says to stop, such as rice, potatoes, and all the gmo stuff. I don't feel hunger so much anymore but when I do feel it, it just feels like my stomach is shrinking, my body working, burning fat, so I embrace the hunger feeling. I started at 139 lbs. on April 1st; today, I am 132 lbs., and my clothes have all become looser on me. I notice it mostly when I put my pants on, around my waist, rear and thighs. I am working towards transitioning to a more stricter keto diet and one meal per day. I am under the belief that I have been eating way more food than I ever needed. I am surprised that I am not in far worse health. You say you get headaches? Perhaps you're still consuming sugars and high carbs in your meals? Cut the sugar out. No alcohol. No rice. No fruits. My favorite, quick and easy meal is a bowl of raw or cooked cruciferous vegetables with some hard boiled eggs and a half, or more, of an avocado. It's not the most complicated dish but it's very satisfying to me, anyway. I hope Dr. Berg approves.

Thank you Dr.Berg. I found your channel 2 months ago about IF Keto. It's changed my life completely. I have tried different ways to lose weight/fat nothing seemed to work. Losing a little bit of weight and gained again. Walking 5 days a week. I baked a lot and that also messed my weight/fat loss program. I was tired of trying and failed again. Then found your channel. IF 16:8 started in March. I have lost 17lbs so far. Low to no carb, no sugars. No snacking like I used to but macadamia and walnuts. Walking/running every other day. Stop baking at this moment (need a Keto baking recipe). I will continue for another 16lbs to get my ideal weight. But IF Keto has become so easy and my lifestyle now. No crave carb or sugar no more. Thanks !

I've been following this plan for almost 4 years now with great success. I don't follow every little detail but I do the following: start my day with 6 ounces of a ginger water-ACV-lemon juice mixture with mineral water and various added nutrients (B12, K, turmeric powder, cinnamon oil, Vitamin C powder, ginseng, licorice powder, elderberry syrup, cayenne, and hemp oil). On days when I plan to go for a long walk or bike ride I drink a can of Hydro Shot molecular hydrogen water. I then have a cup of coffee with a tablespoon of MCT oil, butter, and heavy cream added along with a healthy dash of sea salt, and a drop of Lugol's iodine. I brew my coffee from freshly ground organic beans, adding cocoa, Lion's Mane, and Reishi mushroom powders to a French press.
I have my brunch at noonish, usually consisting of 2 or 3 pasture-raised duck or chicken eggs, and bacon. I also drink about 6 ounces of a smoothie made with kefir and berries and various powders, including Moringa, Camu Camu, beet root, cinnamon, golden milk, collagen peptides, celery, and Keto BHB. Lately I've been adding a couple of tablespoons of golden flax meal to the smoothie.
I drink tea in the afternoon, including green tea and hibiscus tea, with lemon juice. I sometimes have a piece of cheese or some nuts, or smoked sausage in small portions. Often I go without eating at all in the afternoon.
My evening meal is usually a portion of pasture-raised beef, chicken, or pork, or wild-caught seafood, with a salad and/or cooked vegetable such as cabbage or asparagus. I have some chia pudding, nuts or low-sugar chocolate to follow. I drink low-sugar kombucha prior to the meal.
I just had a physical and my results: 120/80 BP, 5.5 H1C, everything else in the normal range except slightly elevated blood glucose, high total cholesterol (261 mg/dL) and LDL. I'm not too concerned because my weight, HDL and triglycerides are normal and I'm not convinced that "high" LDL or total cholesterol means anything, especially on keto.
I am 70 years old, healthy, and exercise regularly outdoors, and I take ZERO prescription medications (but quite a few supplements). The main supplements I recommend for most people are Mg, D3+K2, NAC, ACV, omega-3, L-theanine, quercetin, C, and zinc. I also take ashwaghanda, which works well for me to improve my mood and decrease stress, along with SAMe.
I thank Dr. Berg for putting me on the right track. I always find useful information here, and it is my belief that many more people would benefit from his advice if they would only try and follow it. It does take discipline and perserverence but the rewards are great and worthwhile.

My ESR is totally normally for the first time since first test those 30 years ago and I'm nearly off the opiod painkillers that I've been taking for the past 30 years. Needless to say the NHS doctors are saying that perhaps I did not have RA in the first place - although my hands say differently - tried to tell them about this but they are not interested. Anyway thank you hopefully the few years that I have left will be pain free. Whenever I meet anyone with arthritis in general I will always pass them on to your channel. Love Liz and her seven cats. To become healthier in life, after watching a few of your videos, I made the plunge. I first started by losing the energy drinks and soda, and switching to water and green tea with a tablespoon on honey. The transition took a few days, and was painful at times, but the headaches went away and at the end of the three days, I was onto water and un sweet green tea. Just doing that alone was honestly saving me 1700 calories a day. Due to my dyspepsia, it made it difficult to eat in regular intervals, and when I didn't, I found myself being in a constant state of nausea. So I began fasting. I started out with 16:8 window of eating. Within a few days, I was down to 18:6 window. With another little push, I've lowered my window to 20:4. Since quitting sugary, carbonated drinks and getting to the 20:4 fasting window, I've noticed that my dyspepsia is almost completely gone, along with the nausea. I'm also losing a few pounds every day or two. I'm no longer tossing and turning at night. My hunger pain has returned to normal and extremely tolerable, instead of being so strong it made me want to vomit. I'm only consuming about 600 calories at 1pm, and another final meal of about the same with a larger portion of salad at 4:30pm as to be done eating by 5pm. I haven't felt so mentally balanced, energetic, or tireless in years. And not having to deal with the symptoms of my dyspepsia with my diet change has really made life so much more tolerable. And I haven't even gone keto yet... Thanks Doc.

Exercise + nutrition. Burn the carbs & sugar.
    Deplete the glycogen.
And meal plans/suggestions really would help.
    Magnesium for sleep also.

      His website provides meal plans.
He also provides different magnesium formula for a better sleep. I’ve experimented with his D3&K2 and his electrolytes that contains magnesium. Definitely getting better sleep with those, additionally to doing healthy keto and intermittent fasting.

Absolute legend for pushing people to keep their bodies in fat-burning mode and stay healthy. People don’t understand fasting and are ignorant in terms of how our bodies really work. Intermittent fasting should also be 48, 72 hours or even more not only 24 hours. The thing is we survive just fine with our complete 102 vitamins & minerals when we fast. You’re not gonna die haha. If anything you will become “a live”

Here is the good news; as of today my Blood Pressure is with in normal range (no longer taken BP meds)! I weigh 243 lbs. been off sugar since November of last year. I started a keto diet when I was 49/50 years old.
Prior, I was quite keen on alcohol. It got me through a day. As a result, over time, I realised I had less muscle, fatty liver, high blood pressure, diabetes and varying liver enzymes. Plus I had ascites. What to do?
I was on the wrong side of 40 and my lifestyle had caught up, on me.
I started by weening myself off alcohol and drinking more water. Walking regularly.
The cabbage soup diet, was my early point of call. Try and ‘reset’ myself.
After 10 days on that, I started a low carb, keto diet.
This was not easy. I am intolerant to farmed meat, fish and foodstuff like cheese.
Tinned tuna, mackerel etc., filled my protein gap.
I got to a point of walking 4 miles, every evening. I kept to the 4 miles. However, as time progressed, I tried to do the 4 miles in a shorter time.
In just 12 weeks, I had turned this body around... including putting on muscle.
Okay, life has taken a path, since. Now, 58, I find myself needing to do something to get out of bad health.
During being homeless (for other reasons), my health went down. Lack of good nutrition and exercise. Poor motivation etc. Now, I have poor muscle mass (again). Completely unfit. Little income.
Can I do this 10 years on?
Well, I hope so... otherwise, I am done with.

I wish I was having more success with my keto diet. Maybe I am internally, but I'm not yet feeling it. While I wouldn't mind losing a few pounds, I'm trying keto because I have so little energy, hot flashes that wake me up several times a night and I tend to forget...a lot! I gradually transitioned to keto over six weeks starting in January, and I've been strictly on keto for 3 months now. I been very faithful to the diet and haven't cheated a single time. I'd say I'm consuming between 20 to 25 grams of carbs per day, probably less. I only eat about 3 cups of veggies a day, but I'm gradually increasing that and will reach 7 cups probably in another three to four months. I eat plenty of high quality fats, nutrient dense foods such as pastured eggs, meat and dairy. I take a wide array of high-quality supplements. My one weakness is that about 4-5 times a week, I'll have a Love Good Fats bar late at night when I'm working. I've tried intermittent fasting, but it's really hard to do. I wake up in the morning with hunger pains so intense that I feel severely nauseous. This happens every day, sometimes more than once. I'll have a few macadamias or a little cheddar and that helps to relieve it. But it makes it really hard to wait until noon to eat. Does anyone else have this nausea issue? My nightly hot flashes have nearly doubled since I started keto, so I'm much more tired than when I began. Despite taking electrolytes and MCT oil, I haven't had any improvement in my memory. And I've had very painful acid reflux the past couple of weeks. I haven't dropped any weight. It makes me feel very sad that I'm not improving. But I have vowed to do this until the end of August and see if things change for the better. In fact, I'll probably go a full year, and really do the best I can. I feel like this is the right road for me, but it's so discouraging to not feel like I'm getting healthier. Like I said, hopefully I'm getting healthier internally, and sooner or later, I'll start to feel more vitality!

Please don’t fast if really hungry. Check Dr Berg’s videos on your symptoms and solve them one by one.
Also the electrolytes that you are having, are you sure there’s no maltodextrin in it?

@@experimenthealthyketo83 - Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I will take your advice and definitely not fast when I'm really hungry. Something wonderful happened yesterday: I wasn't hungry all morning and had no nausea at all. I didn't feel like eating until 3pm and I had lots of energy! It was wonderful! Today I was able to go until 1:00pm before the hunger and nausea kicked it, then I ate right away. So hopefully those are good signs of improvement! As for my electrolytes, I'm using pure cream of tarter and sea salt in water. I'm taking magnesium in the evening, but I'll double-check and see if there's any maltodextrin - I know it's pretty bad from what I've learned from Dr. Berg. Thanks again!
