This episode has me appreciating being an African living in Africa because 80% of the food we eat comes straight from the farmers and I’m so thankful for that.

I'm probably one of them rare cases. Alcoholic for about 22 years. My last 2 i was taking about 5 pints to the face daily. The last year withdrawals almost killed me. Coma, BAC of 39%, 1st stages of cirrhosis. Delirium like crazy. Shakes. All of it. After relapses and multiple hospitalizations where once I couldn't walk due to so many vitamins and minerals deprecated out of my body. July 23, 22 was the day I officially put all drugs and alcohol down. November 5, 2023 215 lbs and I said enough is enough. Read her book. Read David Goggins, listened to Andrew Huberman got into my circadian rhythm, fasted, drank my electrolytes, take my creatine, vitamins, minerals daily, meal prep 4 months after I was 125 lbs. Currently 125 lbs i don't want to pick up or do any drugs. It's a hard lonely road but my gosh i feel and look better than I ever did. I'm about to be 37 and doing a marathon Dec 8. Anything is possible, if YOU want to achieve it! Fasting saved my life. Thank you Dr. Mindy!😊 i run 3 to 5 miles a day along with 30 mins of weightlifting.
If anyone would love to give me kudos, words of encouragement or witness my transformation follow me on IG: AngieRuns2024
Thank you all for these kind words. All of you truly helped me these past days with all these comments. My marathon is about 2 weeks away, did I mention it's my 37th birthday as well?!

I usually don’t listen to podcasts and don’t really comment anywhere, but this one is precious. Thank you ! So much information that is hidden from us, yet so important to understand the processes in our body. I’m 33 years old, trying to get pregnant… I’m definitely overweight, but trying to lose it but it won’t leave me. The weight I gained is because of stress, hence compulsive eating. I will definitely look into fasting and all the little advices in this video and really hope to see a change soon in my body, re-gain confidence and improve my mental and physical health ❤

I stumbled upon Dr. Pelz’s interview about 4-5 mos ago. I was in this cycle of just being tired all the time, being so emotional and angry before my period. Gaining wt eventhough I don’t believe I eat a lot. I read her book, started wearing a CGM and just slowly easing into the fasting lifestyle. I now have done 2 72 hrs of fasting without a struggle. I’m currently on my 3rd try for the 72 hrs fasting. I used to love chocolate that I can finish a big toblerone in one sitting. Now, I have a hard time finishing one piece of chocolate. I’ve changed my taste buds and it’s unbelievable. I’ve lost some weight but don’t stress with the number in the scale. I feel good and that’s what matters 😊

Wow! As a child of the 80's, I was taught that males and females were all basically the same and so I always resented my monthly cycles and the physical/emotional delicacies that came with being a woman - they felt like a burden or a curse. But, thanks to hearing Dr. Mindy, I have a better appreciation for the roll that female hormones play and the unique complexities of the female body. This information was so helpful! I can't wait to read her books on fasting and eating. I know they will help me navigate my journey through menopause. Wish she'd been there when I was 20. Great interview!

      What is your fast like?

    • @gamecrusher2024
      @gamecrusher2024 13 дней назад +1

Yes, fasting is much easier than people think. The problem is, they forget that they are fasting for however many hours they are sleeping, as well. All they have to do is, subtract their sleeping hours from their fasting window and that is the actually time that they are going without food. For example: I fast for 16 hours and sleep for 8. So, in reality, I am only "fasting for 8 hours. Which isn't very long at all. I hope this makes sense.

I've done everything in my power to win him back, but it's all in vain, and I can't imagine my life with anyone else. This is one awesome! I just love her. I have maintained a healthy weight for most of my life, but the last year I have gained about 10 kg in ONE year ... I couldnt find out what I have done wrong because my diet is healthy and I focus on gut health. I am 44 years old and now I realize that this is because I am pre menopausal. I am suddenly more sensitive to carbs and have more blood sugar spikes, and I suddenly crave more sweets and sugary carbs, which I havent craved in years. These changes have occurred the last 12 months, and just out of "nothing", with no active changes from my side. This speech really made things fall into place, thank you so much!

I loved how Dr. Mindy Pelz let Jay Shetty ramble about his three-meals-a-day routine like a "blue-pilled" sheep, then calmly dismantled his outdated mindset with facts. She didn’t just challenge him-she obliterated the notion that following the herd is the only way, all while keeping her cool. Absolute masterclass in dropping truth bombs with grace.

I consider my diet balanced and do not eat breakfast apart from my black cofee no sugar. I do skip lunch often and eat dinner mostly.
What I noticed is I am gaining weight in the last 3 yeaars, no medical issue.

If we took health advice from every corner of the internet, women would, pretty much, be left with, the internal dialog of, "no food is safe enough to eat".
That they "can't keep up with all of the rules and regulations."
All of your habits would be in question.
There is an uprise of women who say, "you know what? I am done being crunchy. I can't keep up".
Hearing the population of women express themselves in this way is becoming so common.
There are so many voices in this world who make things seem hard and fast. Saying "you can't do this, do this"
We've just lost so much nuance and grace in sharing information with others.
We are not supposed to have access to excessive amounts of information.
And to some extent nobody is truly getting it done. And that is heartbreaking discussion to have.
Let's do better. (and get away from patterned, cult-like thinking about the body)

Yes, me too--getting her book & THANK YOU JAY! I wouldn't have looked into this bc I'm a 57 yr old female but not overweight but realize now why I'm so tired, brain fogged, sleeping poorly (diagnosed with Narcolepsy, primarily Hypersomnia), and just this summer, I learned from Sadhguru that my food builds the body/mind that I live or suffer with (duh!) and not just adding weight, plus all about the world's nutrient less soil😢, and now this Doctor has taught me SO much more about how to manage (diet-wise) to create the "better" me that I wish to create! YAY! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jay,, and this wonderful & dedicated Doctor! Blessed be!
