SexTRex is the clear #1 from my point of view: I can live without Daring Adventurer perfectly well, but I can literally NOT live without SexTRex. Especially not early game on difficult settings like strong and fast zombies, feral sense on, horde every night and perma-death.
@@NyZe44 Sledge, because of the (target and area) knockdown. Especially in horde every night the area knockdown prevents a lot of damage done to the base. And the single target knockdown helps in the very early game, cause I can wait and regen stamina while the zombie gets up again. The first 4 points I put into 2 x Str and 2 x SkullCrusher. Then 2 x SexTRex. Then 2 x Str (L5), SexTRex (L3), SkullCrusher (L3). Then L7 Str, L4 SexTRex, L4 SkullCrusher. Depending on how things go I use points in between in MasterChef (for the HPs from boiled meat), DaringAdventurer (if I desperately need ammo or the reward choices are entirely crappy) and BetterBarter (if I need to buy something very expensive on day 3).
Rushing to T5 quests really gives a great advantage with daring adventurer. You can fairly get them at day 10 at a very low gamestage. You might not even get a radiated zombie^^
@@ggwp6668 Standard settings without reloading the game you can easily do all seven tier 1 quests on day 1 and 2, tier 2 quests on day 3 and 4, tier 3 quests on day 5 and 6. Tier 4 quests might take a little longer so day 7,8 and 9. If you reload the game for better quests and have a lucky RMG you can do all tier fetch quests in a single day instead. If lucky, you can reach tier 5 even before the 7th day. Even on high difficulties zombies don't run on early days, so use padded armor and don't get hit. Also you get better weapons as reward than you could craft that early. Use the entire day for questing only and spare time and nights for the rest (mining, building, salvaging, etc). Also limit your looting and buy food from the vending machine at the trader.
@@Krisisisis ahhh standard settings means nomad difficulty? i waste a lot of time by just looting the POIs. i like to play on insane with 40min days so i always ended up finishing some tier 4 or 5 when its already night and have to wait until morning for the trader to open
Just told my girl I had ten years longer to live. She looked at me like I was dumb, then went back to reading her book. You and I know what's up though 😉
One of my favorites you didn't mention is Run and Gun. I love it easily as much as parkour. I also find that while the loot bonus aspect of Lucky Looter is not needed in late game, the 80% faster looting speed is pretty nice when you're trying to loot your way through a massive tier 4 or 5 POI.
Ya know, I've legit never used parkour, but I've had multiple suggestions to give it a shot. Good list! I lol'd that you just left Pack Mule completely unchecked ha ha ha
I always mean to focus on agility but somehow always end up in strength and intelligence. Probably because I enjoy base building and resource harvesting. But I vow to fucus on agility on my next play. And I never really thought of taking daring adventurer, but it seems like a no brainer. Sadly I have lacked brains (except I am glad to say I've never taken pack mule once haha)
The thing is melee is so damn reliable and not only that but you’re constantly spamming tool usage all game whether it’s mining or scavenging you WILL spam tool usage, and it’s a pain in the ass when you do 5 strikes and sit there wheezing for air. Guns are powerful even if you don’t specialize in them making strength and intelligence king.
Then you are probably playing with rather weak and slow zombies. As soon as you play perma-death at max zombie speed and strength you will go into strength first for SexTRex and Skull Crusher or maybe Pummel Pete. Even more so if you turn on Feral Sense and/or play with horde every night.
Good details. In my current game I set myself the challenge of maxing out Lucky Looter by level 10 (which requires ALL of your points through that stage). It was a fun challenge, forcing me to be more careful in combat, but has an interesting impact on early game loot. I keep telling myself I'm going to go more into Parkour and Daring Adventurer, but so far have only given it lower levels in early game. That's about to change!
Maxed Parkour if one is going to do skyscraper POI quests. Lessens need for that candy. Also never underestimate how useful falling can be for navigation and escape.

I always go int starting game for robotics inventor to make the sledge turrets viable. My starter hoard base is just an elevated path with jumps to slow the zeds down that stands above tons of spikes. I will be standing next to a sledge turret at the end of the path which will knock them off the path into the spikes where thay will have to run back to the ramp to start over. I prefer light armor to heavy armor since the build ends up being a stealth crossbow build with a decent shotgun for when shit hits the fan. As far as just using pocket mods instead of pack mule that may work on vanilla but on the server I play on you get a larger backpack (so big that even all the pocket mods will not be enough to unlock it all.) I agree with the op completly about those bring the top 5 perks for a vannilla non modded game but as always mods change things.
My friend swears on Treasure hunter because the 3rd one lets you dig 3 blocks and get closer to the treasure, also 30% more loot for treasure and its really good for doing the quest fast and getting a good reward
Daring adventurer is actually broken good. I go from breaking even on trader runs to gaining tens of thousands of dukes once I hit max due to the extra quest loot, end up with more money than I can do anything with. It should probably be rebalanced to only give one item even at max, I'd say it's still worth it just to guarantee you end up with a good item from each quest
Using huntsman u don't have to take any points in iron gut if u don't want to. On the flip side you don't really need much more then 1 or 2 points in huntsman if u have 5 iron gut
Cool thanks for the vid too bad I can't play the new update made it so that it just sits on the loading screen for hours never actually loading the game
From personal experience, Lucky Looter isn't worth it at all. As you mentioned, it's better off taking later since it's percentage based, but if you're doing trader quests, you'll be getting quality 6 t3 weapons, tools, and armor long before your loot stage reaches the appropriate benchmark. Also, I could see a stealth build wanting to take Pack Mule to free up mod slots on their light armor. Otherwise, yeah don't take it. Not even early game. Those Forgetting Elixir's aren't cheap.
Yeah no joke here guys, Daring Adventure really makes it feel like you're progressing to some degree while getting okay loot. Though I would like to give a shout-out to Farming and Master Chef. Being able to make Meat Stews and keep a constant supply of super corn going feels so must sometimes, but it depends on if you're solo or grouping. Daring you should rush ASAP, I usually level it alongside weapon DMG buff for what ever build I'm going down (Sneaky SMG-5 lol)

The CLOTHING ONES only work in TWO things, Shirt and pants are the only CLOTHING pieces you will never replace with armor or other NON-CLOTHING gear so at most that is FOUR extra slots IF you are lucky enough to find the double pocket mod book and can craft them! Lastly, how the hell is TWO things, the armor and clothing pocket mods, "so many things to do what it does already"? Damn 7DTD community is getting to be as bad, maybe worse, than the damn LoL community and then you add all the BS bugs that it has that aren't fixed before TFP work to nerf all the cheese ways people find to deal with horde night(some nerfs which only forced some people to HAVE to cheese the game), it's a wonder anyone new every actually picks up the game! I may actually take you up on the offer to NOT play 7DTD anymore! OH! I shouldn't forget channels that show you bases that you could use in A20 but have glaring issue because of the new zombies mechanics that they NEVER touch on and only BRIEFLY mention as an aside but never comment to say what you could do to prevent that from happening!
Would you explain why Strength and Sex Rex are good? I wouldn't think you would use fists or sledgehammers, so that implies you really like clubs? But to me being new in the early game spears seem so much better..... stuff you think is obvious is not obvious to us newbies....
Spears suck, they do barely any damage. Clubs and sledgehammers are considered the best melee weapons in the game because they have exceptional knockdown and stagger, along with DPS being much higher on those weapons. The extra block range of the spear and the throw ability is worthless on any difficulty above Adventurer or with advanced run speeds where zombies just instantly close the distance (rendering that spear range pointless) Also, fists are really good as well, despite the lack of range they have some of the best mid to late game combo abilities. (Although fists are governed by fortitude, not strength.) Strength itself is so atrociously OP because it governs 2 of the best melee weapons in the game and shotguns, arguably the best early to mid game "Ranged" weapon. It also governs mining which at higher difficulties is a vital aspect of surviving hordes (by having a lot of extra resources for concrete, steel and ammo), a build with no strength literally may as well not mine because of how lousy mining is without it. It also governs heavy armour which on high difficulties is necessary for the late game or you'll get 2 shot by some late-game zombies. It also governs cooking which you'll need mid-game unless you want to live off canned peas forever. Strength's only bad perk is Pack Mule because it is made redundant by pocket mods. on-top of all of that strengths best perks are available with a low 7 strength (as opposed to needing 10.) and you can save 2 skill points on strength by using the cigar, an item which is cheap, and has no conflicting items in it's clothing slot so there's no reason not to use one. So it's extremely skill point cost effective to rush to a level where you can contend with the higher difficulties. All that said as well, spears are affected by sexual tyrannosaurus. I'd recommend ditching the spear and just using the club and just getting used to the slightly harder movement of using it properly, because spears will take you nowhere into the mid/late game and they won't work for you AT ALL above Warrior difficulty. (Fists, clubs, sledgehammers and knives are all good, batons are bad because they lack an endgame weapon (a steel level baton doesn't exist yet)) That said, just have fun. But strength is better than perception and spears lol. Perception is best used for late game builds after you have your strength and intelligence up because Explosives are extremely cost-effective and Penetrator Sniper builds are exceptionally cost-effective. Salvage operations is also much more necessary late game giving you access to more components for advanced electronics. All those things become more important as hordes get more intense. But in the early game mining resources and clearing POIs, completing quests and trading are the most beneficial for teching up and getting advanced weapons, tools and armour and building a base, which Strength and Intellect will help you with. Sorry for the massive scrawl but you asked why strength is good and the answer is a big one lmao.
I agree with everything except the stun batons part. You can get the same results from clubs and actually damage the zombie. The electric baton is good but it still has many caveats holding it back
I’m on the normal difficulty and I have yet to put a single point into any damage perks besides one point into hidden strike and it is literally been carrying me. I’m on day 14 and still don’t need any damage perks. I’d be willing to try harder difficulty to make that more necessary but I hate how bullets bungee the enemies get I don’t mind extra damage they deal but I cannot stand bullet sponge enemies. But I have basically maxed out my intellects just for daring adventure in the better barter skill got the crucible Dave nine and the motorcycle lake day eight it’s been wonderful but the game feels pretty easy just been sneak attacking with the bell and killing stuff with a machete I manage to find a tier 6 pistol and that’s what I’ve been using as my gun nothing else
I take it Alpha 20.1 stable is not going to disrupt saves - in the way that moving from Alpha 19 to Alpha 20 did? it is not that significant a change I assume?
Why is nobody calling it Sexy Rexy? Anyway, I play on Warrior, and actually did start opting to go for jobs - 1 on day 1, 3 on day 2 and 3, T2 4 on day 4, 3 on day 5. After that, since being T3. I usually do 1 per day. I guess I could do 2 per day, but at T4, I just don't dare to attempt more than 1 job per day. Any tips on getting jobs done fast?
might sound a bit obvious but just focus on it. I typically don't clear if it's a fetch, just smash and grab. I also do bare minimum looting on clear jobs. Also I don't mess w buried supplies until I have an auger. That all lets me get about 4 tier 3s, or 3 T4s or even 2 T5s depending on which ones I get. it also helps to live within 300m of a trader who is less than 1km away from several T5s and T4s
You have to complete 10 tier 1 quests with the same trader and then you get the special quest to open trade routes with another trader and unlock the tier 2 quests. In alpha 20 you have to complete the quests with the same trader and have to unlock the next tier for each trader.
I 100% disagree with the #1 perk. For 1 reason. Quests make the game boring af and make progression way to fast. My coop budy and I have recently started a playthrough on insane with the rule of not being able to quest, at all. This has so far been the most exciting and actual challenging way to play in my opinion. Quests make the game trivialy easy. Need pipebombs, ammor or molotovs for hordenight? Grind T1 Quests Want to completly avoid progression and crafting your own stuff? Grind higher tier quest and just get steel tols Q4-6 thrown after you. Need money? Quests Need XP? Quests IMO they need to do some serious rebalancing of quests. I cant be that I take a quest and get stuff like a pump shotgun or steel tools of medium tier, but the huge military crate (at 100% loot abundance) gives me absolute shit in comparisment
@@superdog3293 No, because a best perk imo enhances the gaming experience, not make it dull by reaching near endgame content in less than 15 days. That would be like saying the best perk would be X cause its bugged and give you god mode. Yes technically the strongest, but does it kill the fun? yes
I agree with everything except for pack mule. Being endgame and practically ready to go on t5s in week one not worried about pocket mods or fat footing is nice and way faster. (Fists, clubs, sledgehammers and knives are all good, batons are bad because they lack an endgame weapon (a steel level baton doesn't exist yet))
That said, just have fun.
Daring Adventurer is due for a nerf soon. Mark my words. Each new map we play I max this first with Sexual Tyranno and STun Batons. It's super dumb.
You won't last long on survivalist and insane without damage perks.
I take it Alpha 20.1 stable is not going to disrupt saves - in the way that moving from Alpha 19 to Alpha 20 did? it is not that significant a change I assume?
you should be fine .X updates typically aren't very destructive
How do you use ap ammo I have 800 ap 7.62 and it says I have 0/0 ammo for my gun chambered in 762
If you hold R (or whatever your reload key is) with the gun equipped it brings up a a menu where you can pick the ammo
@@IzPrebuilt oh my gosh thank you man I been thinking about scraping them
Im new here, just working through these vids. Why do we not like Pack mule?
It's redundant. Pocket mods aren't rare.
@@IzPrebuilt ah i see, cool.
I have been stuck on tier 2 quests and on day 29😑 how do you increase your tier level????
You have to complete 10 tier 1 quests with the same trader and then you get the special quest to open trade routes with another trader and unlock the tier 2 quests. In alpha 20 you have to complete the quests with the same trader and have to unlock the next tier for each trader.
@@martina7144 but once I finished the tier 2 trader, He just sent me to another tier 2 😑
Lootstage changes again? Wow, but the rest of the video is great.:-)
Yep they keep moving it around.
Personally I still think Sexual Tyran. is king, but I 100% agree with the rest of this.
Just saw you at just 10.000 subs, gonna ruin it by making it 10,001
Lol I'm actually at 10,100 subs, YT just rounds the numbers on the public side. Thank you for subbing nonetheless!
Better Barterer is the best or second best perk period. Bypass all loot tiers with it.
Lmao if you're still playing Alpha 19. Try not using it and actually see if you need it.

"Pearks!"
Yes, people say words differently from you. Well done. Here's a gold star⭐
@@IzPrebuilt I think you mean "dafferntlay"? Just pulling your leg, sport. Good vid, two thumbs up.

Unsubbed because I don't want 10 more years to live :P
I CANT UNSUB TO MYSELF AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
I 100% disagree with the #1 perk. For 1 reason. Quests make the game boring af and make progression way to fast. My coop budy and I have recently started a playthrough on insane with the rule of not being able to quest, at all. This has so far been the most exciting and actual challenging way to play in my opinion. Quests make the game trivialy easy.
Need pipebombs, ammor or molotovs for hordenight? Grind T1 Quests
Want to completly avoid progression and crafting your own stuff? Grind higher tier quest and just get steel tols Q4-6 thrown after you.
Need money? Quests
Need XP? Quests
IMO they need to do some serious rebalancing of quests. I cant be that I take a quest and get stuff like a pump shotgun or steel tools of medium tier, but the huge military crate (at 100% loot abundance) gives me absolute shit in comparisment
If you think it's overpowered, wouldn't that mean you actually agree with it being the best perk?
@@superdog3293 No, because a best perk imo enhances the gaming experience, not make it dull by reaching near endgame content in less than 15 days. That would be like saying the best perk would be X cause its bugged and give you god mode. Yes technically the strongest, but does it kill the fun? yes
I play at my actual playthough without Trader and less quests.. now im day 45 and im not Even have a pumpgun. The loot sucks so hard 🙈
No pack mule. Disliked and reported
I agree with everything except for pack mule. Being endgame and practically ready to go on t5s in week one not worried about pocket mods or fat footing is nice and way faster. Like if you're good at the game you can do thing better and faster with less damage perks anyway. Everything comes down to speed anyway
