- Everything you need for a perfect first year in a new village! Building order for all your basic needs, early defenses, core production and the first two upgrades for your village.
Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.

this is what i needed just a quick start guide. most of these beginner guides are 30 mins long to an hour
You misses a crucial point. Making gardens on the houses, helps with food production
I bought it, played it and it is great and I will continue to play it and wait for updates because it is really worth it, Manor Lords will be most likely the game that will be on par with Anno when it comes to city building enjoyment. Game kicks ass and with Kaiserpunk and Frostpunk 2 that will come in a couple of months time I will have a blast with city builder games this year!!
Best tip for Starting, two or 3 house plots and make them very long, add Veg farming = no food issues, rinse and repeat as pop grows.
No chickens at start?
@@RocketSauce51 I tend to mix them in later on but for $25 per plot the veg wins out at $15, once I have a trade post setup, trade planks for easy money. this way you can skip farming fields (high manpower cost + low yield) and import everything you need.
@@RocketSauce51they halved egg output for the EA release so it’s 1 egg per month per plot, so they’re not as useful as some content creators older videos show.
I'm glad you are doing some videos on this game, I've been looking forward to it for a while.
This helps so much. When I first started I was so confused what to do. I wish this game had a brief tutorial at the beginning of the game.
Well done! Thank you for this concise round up. Much appreciated.
Building the church before extra houses offsets the homeless modifier so people move in quicker
Dude, thank you!
Nice guide, thanks for this!
Well done!!!!!
Really helpful video cheers man. When's the next episode
Nice overal video. I'm just curious about assigning family to a hitching post, what exactly that family will do? Question mark in game does not explain it :/ People will use Oxes even If there is no family assigned to the hitching post, so what's the reason to assign family there? Any idea?
Hot tip, you can damn near create a Porsche logo using the emblem maker.
Great job! I appreciate your work for us to get started. Do you have a 2nd part of video after this ?
Took a bit longer than expected due to life getting in the way, but it is coming up now
I’d recommend making smaller fields, several plots to fill the same space.
The families and/or ox need to finish work in any given field by seasons end, or it is wasted for the year.
Small fields help them knock it out in time and the waste is minimized if you don’t have as many farmers as you thought you needed. Which is a Lot.
Few things I found very usefull .Orchards and Vegetable gardens, make big building plots with lots of land, and you will have basically unlimited food. Its really OP right now. Also start trader ASAP and sell surplus of everything, and use money to make more orchards...
I have generated the very same map as you did on the video! :D Only resources are distributed differently. :)
Every time I make it past the first year and get to early combat, I find my cities become a jumbled mess and I have to give up and restart with better city planning in mind. The game really needs some kind of easy overlay to see what each house is doing and draw clear property lines between them.
Press tab.
I have one play through u can get raided and rebuild
@@mchonkler7225 Yeah no, it needs to be better than the tab.
great guide i just wish i was as far forward as you are in the month your in im in june and ive only just got the 5th house house my guys take an eternity
make sure you have workers available, else building is not going to happen!
1:30 As far as I know there is nothing stone related to make economy out of or is there?
I've seen some guides state to reduce the plot to get that extra house, but in the end you're just depriving yourself an extra Extension slot if you're not making it big/long for veggie garden or orchards. Otherwise, for chickens/goats or artisans, just make the smallest plot possible with enough space to add the extension.
Vegetable plots/orchards want to be big, small plots are best for artisans. Basically, you want a mix of both large and small plots.
I had a lighting stile that causes a fire and burned done my logging camp . My logs are completely gone and I can’t build another one. What can I do? Thx
hey waar van nederland ben je nu eigenlijk? if ur not english translation is where from the netherlands are u from?
You say in the beginning to "set up your hitching post close to your logging camp" but how in the AF do you move it from its original spot???
You just select it and there’s a relocate button in the info card that pops up.
Really nice video. I get frustrated with all the 1 hour videos with whooly talk in them. This is short and to the point, a real quick start. Thanks! :)
That was exactly the idea, thanks!!! There's a followup coming to this guide with the mid- and endgame stuff as well.
Wait, I have a question: So I built my manor and put buildings inside, but now I cannot select them. How do we do this?
You mean towers and things like that? They don't seem to be 100% functional yet.
Just bought this. How did I know TDA would be here too?
Great minds...!
"the first thing you want to do is to set up your hitching post a little bit closer to your logging camp", you missed like 10 steps in between that?
How are people modifying the plot before you build it? It never gives me that option
Place the square, and then before pressing on the hammer, use the '+' and '-' on the edge of the box.
I stupidly thought my 15yo gaming laptop with a gx750 would cope... 😂 It doesn't. Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap laptop to run the game?
Also, in my game the water courses don't show on the overlay, is that just me?
They should also show up whenever you try building a well
@@TheDutchActuary it was my graphics card mate. Now using geforce now and it's fine
@@_RandomPea That's great news!
The Sawmill doesnt work in my game for some reason
That's really strange, I've not had issues with that. Do you have supply of logs, oxen to transport them, and people assigned to the mill?
your ox is busy
I never do scenarios.
And now... a full playthrough of Bellwright. Solo.
Great video. The game has a lot of potential but it's crazy buggy right now. My citizens are stuck on waiting and won't work on any assigned tasks. So they are just basically dying of laziness 😅
That's a shame! I've not had any issues like that myself, other than the occasional ox that was homeless despite plenty of stables to go around :P
i just needed to know howto gain heat
after you see what resources you have "That will DICTATE what you focus on" or "What you focus on will DEPEND on what resources you have", not "what resources you have will depend on that you focus on" that's backwards
You are absolutely correct, my dutch brain short-circuited there for a moment! :D
I literally did everything in your guide on my first play through does that mean I’m a Manor Lords Chad?
Definitely!
You sound like Defyn
i dont see water
You can enable the overlay when building anything (similar to the fertility) - alternatively it should show up automatically when building a well.
Start with Perfection?? Sir, you didnt even upgrade to vegetables....
That's because you don't do this (except for perhaps 1 plot) until you have an initial income up and running. See the next guide (coming up!)
Just want to say, all names of peoples and areas are german :) 😂
the food situation is wack. the farming doesnt work. the trader is weird as hell. prices tank too quick. crops get used up immediately. hunting and berries run out immediately. games great. needs some work
First minute watching this....his advice is all wrong.
Good to comment and not explain why... Well done 😂
@_RandomPea so many things....but you start in March and rains come in April. The first thing you need to build is a granary and then a store house and add people to them. You might just have enough time to get all your supplies under cover before the rains spoil them. Then you build a logging camp.
If you do a start any other way.. then you will lose precious supplies to rain.
This "guide" is bad. Look for better ones.
Why? Explanation would help
how many ads do you need every 20 minutes??? FFS!!
Says the one that consumes this content for free.
@@PatrickWosnitza this channel isnt worth ads every 5 minutes in a 20 minute video.
