  • How to get your industry up and running, get your village upgraded, expand to new areas and conquer your enemy.
Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.

If you are struggling with food, try making a (very) LARGE plot or two with vegetables. This currently makes food almost trivial to produce. I omitted it from this particular guide as you dont NEED to (ab)use this, and I do expect this to change in the near future (similar to how wool production was fixed).

Wanted to mention, and I've seen other videos doing this, when your trading post is on the King's Road, you have trading options that do not say "route required". Those are free to buy/sell routes and you can "activate" them without needing money. IE selling planks.
Traders that travel the KR will stop at your post if you have goods they want or they have goods you need without paying for the route. This is a great way early game to make money. I had quite a bit (1k +) in the first 18-24 months in game and didn't pay for those routes.
Edit: Strat Gaming mentions this in one of their videos and it was super helpful.

Thanks for this tips. I have actually question about orchards. My villagers stockpile apples in their homes, and dont move them in granaries, so they are not distributed by market either. I have two fully staffed granaries, so lack of manpower is not the reason, they just ignore apples. As I searched for an answer, I saw, that many people have same issue and it is supposed to be a bug. But you dont seem to have this problem. Do you have some way to activate the use of apples, or is it just random bug, that occures only in some games?

It seems to be a random bug. First time i made a village with orchards they worked just fine. Next village i build this bug happened

@@MegoPlays Thats a pity. Did it happen to you in different games, on in one game in different regions?
This bug also acts a bit wierd. I tried to experiment a little bit, and there seem to be some actions, that trigger apple storaging for period of time. I tried building one granary dedicated only for apples, which someone recomended, but it didn´t work initially. When I dedicated them to specific area (containing orchards), it seemed to start working, at least until I loaded the game again. One time also worked setting apples to export, but it was also short lived.

As @MegoPlays mentioned above, it seems to be a random bug that also happens with some other resources (I believe hides are an example). Luckily I haven't encountered this happening myself, so it seems to be 'random'. Hoping it gets fixed soon though!

For orchards and vegetable plots, they must reach 90% storage capacity before they are moved to the granary

Obviously you don't need to like this game, but objectively it is simply good in its genre.
Not sure why you are calling the game easy though. If you're an experienced player in the genre you won't have too much issues as you'll know what to look out for, but i've seen a LOT of people struggle with it in their first few games!
