Seeing a lot of your questions in the comments and elsewhere, I've put together my second video in the series that I'd say is essential viewing - ruclips.net/video/UgnaUCTvcwU/видео.html ! It should cover a lot of the confusion around key mechanics and systems. Otherwise if you have more questions and uncertainties, keep dropping 'em in the comments and I'll answer what I can (gonna catch up soon!). For anything that needs a visual aid, I'll prep some more videos! I have some more in the works already, too. I hope this helps you get started with Lording over your Manors! And if you haven't seen it yet, don't hesitate to check out my ongoing playthrough here - ruclips.net/video/f16hXx4JRi4/видео.html !
Thanks for the video! I couldnt find the info of how much the zone (Burgage?) of the House should be? does it affect anything? Should i make them as small as possible then, or do they scale somehow?
@@abadonael around 16:35 is where that gets explained for each of the different aspects - note in particular about the vegetable gardens and orchards, where bigger backyards means more yield, but also more time spent working in the backyard rather than regular job. Otherwise the backyard can be as small as you'd like, though if the plot is too small, you won't be able to build a backyard extension. Sometimes that's fine - it's really a matter of what you want and need from a specific house

excellent, just bought and started playing, very immersive city builder reminiscent of 'Banished' game times. Still hard to believe one guy made this - insane how much programming had to be done.
I didn't expect a tutorial with 40 minutes to actually be any good, but you got a new subscriber. This was incredibly helpful and very on point. I'm struggling to get my sheep 🐑 to breed. The livestock trader keeps bringing females and they don't multiply. I've bought 10 so far.
I love this guide! I've put in roughly 18 hours into the game trying to figure things out for myself before looking up guides to see what I could be doing better. The other videos of a similar variety didn't have nearly the same level of depth that you have in this video. Thank you!
As someone who has never played city builders this video was extremely helpful. Also its crazy how you know everything about this game that just came out this week.
I've been playing and learning on my own. It's my first city builder. Lots of non-intuitive mechanics that I've been frustrated by, looked deeper into with my own questions. Then I find this absolute meaty guide and I instantly liked and subscribed. THANK YOU

Thank you for the video i bought the game yesterday in the late morning and before i knew it it was midnight. I dont know what i was doing wrong but i never seemed to have many eggs even though i invested a few houses to keep chickens in their back yard. Vegetables however i had in abundance.

There is something deeply interesting about building your village in hours being happy with how it develops and then getting raided and having to defend for the sake of keeping it.
Great video! Like most I started yesterday, stumbling my way through the game just trying to learn as I was going. This video helped massively and will start a new settlement now 😂
Really good guide and honestly should have watched this first as the game is really in-depth and has quite the learning curve compare to other city-building games but that's what makes this game so good
@ 12:45 - Also, does the Artisan family also need the supplies to produce whatever it is they're specialized in? Like a tailor needs linen and dye to make clothing.
This was really helpful! I always have issues producing enough food after I have around 70 population... Berries and Hunting won't suffice and Wheat-Flour-Bread production won't help much. Any advice on that?
My take: Time for Import game time via the Trading post. You should have good stock piles of resources, sell off excess for regional wealth and export it passively and import food to meet demands. 🤙

Amazing! Thank you for the video. This game is amazing, playing it via day one access on the ultimate game pass for PC. It was really overwhelming at first. Feels like AoE and Civ had a baby and fed it roids 😂 super helpful information in the video and within the comments ❤
Great guide! I surprised myself, I was able to figure-out most of this myself, but I still learned a few good tidbits. One thing I’m a bit disappointed in is how ‘easy’ it is to re-assign families. The longer a family is assigned to a particular job, the better they should get at it. T1 jobs are ‘simple’ enough that anyone should be able to do it, yes. So, there shouldn’t be a *penalty* for assigning a random person to a task. But there should be a *bonus* for refraining from re-assignment. Whom are going to be the better farmers? The family doing so for multiple seasons, or the family in their first season? Really hope that this gets added. If it isn’t already in-game (as some sort of ‘hidden’ mechanic) then it needs to be more quantifiable. Could even work surnames into it! ‘Smith,’ ‘Baker,’ etc. Anyways, apologies for the rant, cheers man, you got yourself a new subscriber. Really enjoyed your clear yet calm narration!
Food ends up being easy to maintain during the winter , it's fuel that burns fast. It's detrimental to start those crops in June and harvest in September because if not your forced to live off of berries and deer which at first is manageable with a low pop but after the first winter bread and other goods are a must
Great video, I didn't realize you could make bigger gardens in the backyards. Mine are rather small. I'm hoping to increase carrots and eggs with a few longer backyards with two houses on the plot.
The extra house option you call rare, but it's up to you; if you hit the minus button to decrease total number of plots in the area, it usually means they all get a bonus house
At first I assumed, 7 essentials can't be too much info to be shared, but you gave a very good and broad introduction. Thanks Actually, given the video is 40 min long, I could have expected it. That said, I appreciate you didn't just ramble a lot about stuff, but present info in a packed, yet calm way 👌
Love your videos. 👍 Quick question about growing veggies in backyard extensions. In the early release is it defaulted to a yield value regardless of how large the extension area is? Or, does the yield amount scale based on how large the extension area is?
does the hitching post need a family? i have one assigned but its only the son who does anything (guides the ox), the husband does nothing all day. the wife fetches water and things
When you need to use it for dedicated specific work you are focusing on, yes. Else, it's a floater for whatever transport needed for constructing or transport is needed for said wood. As noted, get more than one oxen and one is for Timber, and that should resolve most thjings in your beginning game growth. AS you need more and more things transported, then you upgrade to said stable, etc.
Will industrial workers only get raw mats from storage houses and granaries? Or can they also get from nearby local storages of gathering houses like logger's camps or hunters camps
The well seems useless. As long as you have 1 in a region, the need is fulfilled. There appears to be no reason to ever have more than 1 in a region or any other use for the well. This is something I'd like to see change soon. Homes and businesses should demand easy, nearby access to water and there should be a need to build multiple wells across the region.
It does get tricky when buildings are on fire, you would want easy access to water then, I believe the people run between the nearest well and the burning building

Very well thought out, thank you!
Be sure to always have at least two oxen, especially when you don't have any passive income yet. I just had to reset a game because my initial ox died under mysterious circumstances.
It seems that the foodstalls do hold several food i tems etc. Because I only have one person working in the granary, and that family is selling everything I had in the grannary.
Yep "food" is one category of thing (just like "clothing" includes shoes, cloaks, clothes, linen, yarn, and leather). I meant a "clothing stall" being unable to sell, for example, "firewood" - I probably could've been clearer, sorry!
