That node setup would melt my computer. Nice

You might be surprised about how optimized nodes can be. I’ve reached past 1.7k nodes on projects like the CGboost logo! I do these project on just an apple laptop, real-time. But yeah, might lag our brains slightly.

    Looks awesome, great job!
Did you test it on a full character yet?

I didn’t intend on using this for a full character, I made it for a model of a hand, I used arms as a skin reference. I’m sure it would look weird on a face.

@@peppersiegel7636 That's exactly what I thought and there might be some people craving for that shader for some cursed renders xD

Looks not bad. But be aware that this shader changes dramatically in blender 4.1+.

      Why, may I ask?

@@HIHIQY1 Changes happened even in 4.0. Subsurface Color had nothing special. it was basically mixing the base color with another color under the hood. now the Subsurface color is more accurate and controlled through the "Radius" parameters, which are basically a vector shift from the base color towards R, G or B values.

Yep this has given me the confidence to never ever try to learn blender. I see at least a trillion nodes. HELL NO, anyways, good job, it looks amazing.

      You can do it!

shaders aren't as difficult as geo nodes though. they just take a long time to set up is all.
