    Want to mess with my advanced shaders? check out the project file in the description! The .Blend file contains a procedural four leaf clover shader +animation.

    Thank you everyone for the amazing support on this video. To infinity and beyond! (I make way more advanced videos too by the way)

      @@peppersiegel7636 Yeah, I just binged through all of your videos right now, it's great stuff. I really liked the realistic car paint breakdown, maybe you can do that for other sorts of PBR-related stuff, and how to create them :)).

    Hey, impressive results. For the animated shaders are you using the scene time to drive things or something else?

      That would be cool, I know a bit about SDFs but not when it comes to shaders. @@peppersiegel7636

    its really impressive but can you show little slow in between what does that math node and can you post a series about procedural nodes

      Great idea! I think I will make a RUclips video that overviews the properties of all the math nodes.

    hey bro, i'm starting since a bit to study the shader editor and the node stuff, coming from substance designer i'm wandering of a couple of things, and the most that i'm wandering of they are if it's possible to make a tile sampler like the one of designer, where you can modify and merge between them the individual tiled pieces randomly. ad if it's possible to make with the nodes a complex procedural material or height pattern that can be seamless without to need to export it in other programs.

    • @peppersiegel7636
      @peppersiegel7636  8 месяцев назад

      It would probably be difficult to make a seamless transition between two tile shapes. But I have made many kinds of tiles before, so it could be possible.

    Genuine question 🙋‍♂️ how is this better than img based textures?

    • @peppersiegel7636
      @peppersiegel7636  7 месяцев назад

      For most people it isn’t any better than image textures. But it allows me to make procedural animations that are impossible to draw by hand. It obviously takes a fraction of the time to do this with image textures though. but there’s no math involved in making an image texture. I do this for fun, I love all of the math that goes behind creating and teaching these things. Also, it’s in the vector graphics format. So I dont have any aliasing on my designs.

    You could get rid of the first 5 minutes of the video because that's just a beginner introduction. As said in the title the "intremediate level" begins at ~5:45.
    Instead of those previous 5 minutes it would have been more interesting to see how you assebled the club pictogram as an example.
    Also it would be great to have an explanation to what usage those procedural 2D shaders in a 3D workspace have.
    It truly is fascinating and interesting how those shapes are created by only using math but I don't quiet see the value in a production environment since you could create those poker card symbols with Adobe Illustrator in less than 10 minutes and set up the animation in another 5.
    Don't get me wrong I think the stuff you do looks amazing but I just wanted to give some honest feedback and maybe it helps you to improve your content quality.
    Maybe also try to explain what the nodes you use do in detail and what your thought process on using them was/is if you want to show the practical applications of math in the real world.
    Even or especially in advanced node setups it is helpful to give a reminder to what a node does in combination with a long chain of other nodes.
    Also you should introduce grouping nodes and naming them, to your workflow.
    Keep it up and happy plugging!

      Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree, this would likely not be a viable option in, for example, a game development environment. I do this for fun, I really like math, and I wanted to share it through RUclips. But it does have a few applications, I recently uploaded a video about growing plants in shaders procedurally. And the shaders themselves can be used as procedural decals for various 3D meshes. The procedural aspect allows me to make interesting animations, I made an apple grow and over time had part of it decompose, forming the Apple company logo. Most of all, it’s just a fun way to practice proceduralism and math. By the way, I already made a video about how I made the card suites symbols, in case you haven’t checked that out already.

      @@peppersiegel7636 Actually I believe you can use that in a game environment like in effects very well. Since that video was hinted towards the possibilities giving some examples in your video would have been great.
      If possible by your side it would be awesome if you could provide a download link for your projects in your video describtions unless you want to sell them ofcourse.
      Although I used to enjoy it I am not the fastest regarding math so it would help me a lot to understand all the nodes and especially your clover animation sparked my interest.
      Thanks for taking your time to answer!
