    Correction: Lambada is not an original work. It's actually a sample from the song "Llorando Se Fue" by "Los Kjarkas" that was released in 1981. Lambada was released in 1989.

    Great video! Just one tip : the sample in Rihanna's don't stop the music and in MJ's Wanna be starting something are both from a Cameroonian Saxophonist called Manu Dibango who released the track Soul Makossa in 1972, Makossa being the main music genre of the SAWA people in Cameroon

A couple of the songs in this series aren't technically "sampled", but in this case, the Rihanna song did "sample" the MJ song. I guess the MJ song "copied" or "re-recorded" the Manu song!       I don't think samples make pop music unoriginal. It shows that the artists are unoriginal as the beats themselves aren't even made by them.

      All art is collaborative. You cant learn how to sing or play or draw or dance without seeing someone else do it first. Yeah, a lot of these dont think that much out of the box but others are great uses of samples and completely change the song to something different

    2:11 these are the samples I love. Taking songs that would otherwise have been forgotten to time, by people who were never big name musicians, and immortalizing their songs by crafting them into something new. I doubt Bessie ever expected her song to have a legacy like this, but now she and her song will be remembered for years and years to come. THAT is what sampling is all about to me
