There is no "god" or "Satan,." There are no good gods, bad gods, angels or daemons. That is all ancient folklore & why the founding fathers deemed it unfit to be a part of modern governance.
The *1st Amendment's Establishment Clause* prohibits the government from making any law, _“respecting an establishment of religion.”_
This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring religion over non-religion, or non-religion over religion.
_“The government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion."_
*-Treaty of Tripoli - June 7, 1797. Signed by President John Adams & Ratified UNANIMOUSLY, by the United States June 10, 1797*
....only a few times in history the Senate unanimously agreed on anything.

@@alnabulsi313 I have no beef, with any individual & I said nothing derogatory of Christianity.
Your question is better directed at the American Founding Fathers. Some Christian must have "hurt" them; so much so, they set out to create a secular government that is required, by law, to give _"no respect to [any] establishment of religion."_
This was REVOLUTIONARY, at the time
I mean, read their work; written, edited, published by Founding Fathers, themselves. Here are, just a few, examples:

*-Reason: The Only Oracle of Man,* by Ethan Allen
*- The Jefferson Bible,* by Thomas Jefferson
These are ALL, *DAMING* critiques of Christianity. Keep in mind, publishing, back then, was cutting-edge technology & not a cheap or simple endeavor. They must have felt these views were REALLY important. In fact, Thomas Paine states as much, in *The Age of Reason*
_"The story of the redemption will not stand examination. That man should redeem himself from the sin of eating an apple by committing a murder on Jesus Christ, is the strangest system of religion ever set up."_
*- Thomas Paine - Age of Reason (1794)*
_“Take away from Genesis the belief that Moses was the author, on which only the strange belief that it is the word of God has stood, and there remains nothing of Genesis but an anonymous book of stories, fables, and traditionary or invented absurdities, or of downright lies.”_
*- Thomas Paine - Age of Reason (1794)*
_“There is not one redeeming feature in our superstition of Christianity. It has made one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites.”_
      *-Thomas Jefferson*
_“History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes.”_
*-Thomas Jefferson - in letter to Alexander von Humboldt, December 6, 1813*
_“Have you considered that system of holy lies and pious frauds that has raged and triumphed for 1,500 years?”_

    • @aylbdrmadison1051
      @aylbdrmadison1051 Год назад +2

You're right. There's nothing wrong with appreciating beauty. Some will assume that means the person expressing that though, is automatically missing the other qualities of said beautiful person. It's a cruel world for many of us, and we are often quick to make assumptions based on so many past negative experiences. I've been on both sides of this phenomenon in some way or other. To help assuage such fears, one can simply be aware of them and start by mentioning something else about the person.
As for being a "good Christian," you seem to be following the the path of compassion Jesus sought to impart on us all. The only place you didn't exhibit the compassion Jesus taught was _"I'll stick to it."_ Is being "right" more important to you than how it might possibly make someone else fear you? That's not very "Christ-like" but then I certainly don't go around expecting people to be as evolved as Jesus.
My point is, clearly you are a good person overall, and have much to be proud of. Just maybe understand that we are all on a journey towards peace and prosperity for all. The only way we can ever come close to that is by respecting those who are different. That goes both ways.
It's okay to ask people to be patient with us. As long as people see we are trying, it's their problem if they lose the patience with others that they demand for themselves.
We can all make our world much happier, healthier, and far safer for everyone if we have patience with each other.
That said, this is certainly one of my many lessons I'm working on too. lols
I wish you and all my fellow Earthlings peace and prosperity. ❤🌍🌎🌏

Wow. I too grew up Christian, went to church every Sunday morning (and Sunday night and Wednesday evening) and was all about it. I also had a love,of science, my science teacher instilled in me a love for the wonder and awe of the universe and how humanity, or parts of humanity was trying to understand how the universe worked and our place in it. I personally never saw an irreconcilable division back then, naive kid that I was, it was two perspectives, two tellings of the same story, and would often ask my teacher why people didn’t see the parallels, like the “In the beginning..” to me was a clear description of The Big Bang and so on, My science teacher used to say things like “God is Who, Evolution is How”. I later found out my beloved middle school science Teacher was a lesbian and had been pressured to leave her job by parents who didn’t want such a sinful person teaching their children when this was made known to the school even tho she never mentioned her lifestyle -things were very different to how things are nowadays. I was in college by then and had been realizing more and more the dark and often cruel underside of religion, that some people wielded religion as a tool of power and discrimination. The whole “we are all sinners” seemed to be “some sins are welcomed back every Sunday, others aren’t welcome at all” and that some people had to immediately change their sinful lives drastically and still be shunned while other sinners could do their worst Saturday night and be welcomed back Sunday morning, still hung over. It really turned me off, the judgement snd the hypocrisy of it, claiming how good and loving and accepting they were yet only showing that to certain people. Its the same story that has utterly changed how people view religion and oftentimes even an acceptance of God. I at first shun organized religion, and even to this day I still differentiate religious people and spiritual people, and the guy in this video would be someone spiritual - he comes from a place of love and acceptance and has found that spark of transformation that to him means love and peace and service to help others (to be fair, I’m assuming this based on the brief snippets Ana showed…I could be wrong, but he represents to me what a truly spiritual person should be, not the “hit you over the head with the Bible’s judgement” types who say in one breath “only God can judge” and then in the next list the ways you will burn in hell for eternity for sins committed during a brief part of a very finite mortal existence. And not see any discrepancy is punishment, nor their own hypocrisy in rendering such assured judgement. I finally arrived at the point where I’ve been the better half of my life now, that organized religion does far more damage than good because it’s almost always just a charlatan misleading a gullible or brainwashed group of unthinking cult members who do not think critically because they were taught not to early in life and simply follow the indoctrination they had their whole life. There’s very little true spirituality and tons of judgement. And as people find themselves in the groups of unacceptable sinners, the spell is broken and they go through a pretty traumatic period of re-learning about the world and that people who were deemed “bad” are actually some of the best humanity has to offer, while the so called “good” are little more than reliable donaters and judgemental hypocrites. This guy seems like he may be alright. But even so I’m fine with the person I am, and think, learn and question with the brain that God and/or evolution gave me.

I just want to put it out there for the ladies (sometimes the gents as well), there are a lot of compliments you don't get because some men don't want to make you uncomfortable.
But whether it is an infectious smile, an item of clothing that you are absolutely rocking, or parts of your appearance that i can see you have put a lot of time and work on, and honestly, you are an artist.
I just wanted to put it out there
Because the women i am close enough with seem to really appreciate these genuine compliments and it puts a smile on their face.
And yes, we see the effort put into your appearance, and even though your appearance doesn't matter... we do appreciate it.

Sounds like you’re nominally catholic. You don’t submit to all teachings of the church

"The Bible is not a weapon for us to use against others" is a very decent sentiment, but the Bible is very open to interpretation, as is every religious text. Many unfortunately do use it exactly for that. You can't convince bad people to not use a useful tool that enables them to feel justified in everything they do...

Anything is open to interpretation when you want to believe what you want. The Bible is very clear about homosexuality, but there are people who deny that is an abomination as well.

@@candorsspot2775 No, it's pretty murky about everything. That's why people can easily pick and choose. Even if you can substantiate something very well, it doesn't matter. Your religion, your beliefs, should not effect anyone else. If that's not the case, I guess I'm starting my own religion where straight people are "abominations" and all bigots are going to hell. You have to follow this and believe it cus my religion says so. Sorry, you lose.

@@candorsspot2775 It's just a good, succinct explanation of research into the original text of Leviticus (Hebrew) and Corinthians (Greek). In short, both L 18:22 and C 6:9 use two very distinct words when referring to two "men." In one, it's the term specifically for a man you're related to (in the middle of other injunctions against incest); in the other it's a term for an aggressor vs a victim. Whether one should buy the specific distinctions between the words, or whether the distinctions are being understood accurately, isn't something I can personally speak to, but the fact that two very different words are used in both cases...and the fact that I've never heard any homophobes consider any distinction when talking about the passages...is a pretty compelling reason to give the issue more thought than the people wielding those passages as weapons are inclined to do.

Such a difference to hate preachers like Greg Locke and Kenneth Copeland who would run a mile if their God actually turned up to judge them.

I love Reverend Ed Trevors. I'm an atheist, but his rhetoric is so compassionate and understanding it's hard not to get caught up in his message. His voice is sorely needed and he does a great job.
