You can get a brass trap adaptor with male or female threads. The trap adaptor has a brass ferrule and has non npt straight threads with a bevel on the inside too. I saw some old Durham systems put together with wicking. I got a 1 1/2 Durham vent 90 and a 1 1/2 Durham 45 from Restore and I thought the tapping s would have more threads to them.
My house has Durham fittings put together with wicking. For some reason Durham fittings are shorter so a fitting that looks like a vent fitting is a drain fitting, I often see people use steam fittings for the vents because they are cheaper and have good geometry for venting.
@@DragonBuilds a lot of times I will use a Durham fitting if I have a threaded galvanized pipe and I want to connect PVC to it, I don’t want to put a no hub on the threads and I don’t want to use a female adapter as it can crack so a male adapter screwed into a Durham fitting should be fine. I can also use the Durham fitting to take the place of a few fittings such as a 45 or a tee with a cleanout.
Nice demo. It takes a lot more skill to install metal pipe than plastic as you can’t just force something to fit.

@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 you could use plain old black iron fittings for venting as the flow doesn’t matter
@@DragonBuilds that is very good to remember as I don't want to spend money on the fancy durham fittings for venting.
@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 Why not just use no-hub or plastic pipe? Is it a code requirement or do you simply enjoy working with different materials?

nice job done.
Thanks for the video. I am guessing that brass would be installed the same way right?
