Houndstooth Crochet Stitch | How to Crochet

he Houndstooth Crochet Stitch is a wonderfully easy stitch pattern to work that creates a very intriguing colour pattern! When it comes to the houndstooth crochet stitch, colour is everything! This stitch pattern really stands out when you choose two very contrasting colours, or a very dark colour along with a very light colour. The stitch can be worked in rows as I will show you below, but it is also often worked in rounds.

I'm a beginner crocheter and recently used this stitch in a cardigan that was made up of 4x4 patches seamed together and finished with ribbing around the cuffs, waistband and button panel. Almost all the patches were single crocheted, so the random houndstooth patches added a cool variation but it wasn't difficult to do!
