All I have ever done in my life is enjoy a few cigarettes and enjoy a few drinks. Nothing stronger. By the way, I have never vaped; and nor do I ever intend to. Not just that don't seem point in smoking 60 a day whether you have alchol or not 1-2 a day easily doable but having none at all obvs is best but not easy to stop altogether
some chain smokers are so addicted, they only time they DON'T smoke is when they are sleeping, some can eat and smoke and go to the bathroom at the same time. Of course, to do this you need to be in a place that allows smoking all day like a private residence, the worst thing smokers can have is free time on their hands. Suzanne Pleshette smoked for many years and died of lung cancer at age 70. It absolutely made me sick to see one of the most stunning women to ever live reduced to a coughing, sickly human being by her early 60s. What a tragedy.
There is that nicotine buzz that people who smoke can obtain. It’s not the nicotine itself that’s the problem it’s all the chemicals and additives that are added to the cigarettes. If I had control over the tobacco industry for a day I’d get rid of all the additives known to cause cancer.
Winston and Camels has less or no chemical taste to it compared to Marlboro, chesterfield, and some others But home grown tobacco is a way to go, without additives to it
I've been smoking for many years, and there are many ways to answer "why people still smoke." It has hundreds of factors involved, an individuals daily cigarette consumption, how often they go between cigarettes, etc, among many, many other factors. I smoke because it's just something Ive always done, I enjoy the taste of tobacco, the physical aspect of whipping out my zippo to light one up and also it does in fact help you concentrate, and alleviate stress in certain high stress situations there is no denying that. I smoke about a pack a day, and I can comfortably go 4 hours without even thinking about it. I'm in a very good mood overall and I'm rarely ever stressed out, so really smoking has been something that's been part of my life for so long, it would just feel so weird to not smoke.
a pack a day. You will die, and you will have to look your children in the eyes as you die, and you will have to accept that you killed yourself. Right infront of your children, you killed yourself. You decided to keep smoking, smoking a pack a day which is insane. Stop trying to cope, you're just addicted. Quit, before you will have to admit, you killed yourself knowing your children will experience it.
Few reasons: the buzz is better than caffeine, feel relax, to pass some time, and contemplating thoughts, apart from knowing anyone will be gone anytime regardless of their lifestyle and life can be unfair sometimes Still smoking isn't good
I am not sure this is correct even with my first cigarettes where I wasn't addicted at all I immediately felt the stress relief and that also applies for many people I have asked. im not saying nic withdrawal isn't stressful im saying it's a combination of the relief of the withdrawal and the stress of everyday life that keeps people smoking
People who don’t smoke or have never smoked shouldn’t be involved in such discussions... they always sound condescending because they have no idea what they are talking about. This applies for drugs, alcohol and all other addictive substances.
Before an exam a cigarette would take all the weight off my shoulders before it and I’d feel great going into it. It does relieve stress. Fair enough once I became fully addicted I understand when you hadn’t had one in a couple hours maybe it felt great being able to smoke one but that was a completely different feeling you get when you have a cigarette when your truly stressed like before an exam or you’ve just heard some pretty harsh news or you’ve got to make deadlines that are near impossible to make. P.s don’t smoke
I wonder if the society who do smoke before an exam are more likely to pass it and have a higher score then the ones who don't??? Something to think about

Actually nicotine withdrawl is so mild you can barely notice it. It's not the physical withdrawl that is the problem, It's the mental withdrawl. That's what makes stopping smoking diffiuclt.

ya know, here's something that almost every non-smoking propaganda fails to explore or recognize....some people LIKE TO SMOKE. yeah, that's right, they just smoke because they enjoy it, no other reason. i know its so simple it must be hard to believe right? most non-smokers even have an occasional cigar, but why? most non-smokers are drinkers, but why? we all know the horrible effects of alcoholism, easily far worse than the effects of smoking, and yet people still participate in that.
People get addicted to smoking because it gives you a buzz and it tastes good. Joints on the other hand are miserable and nasty while you're actually smoking it, which is why no one really gets addicted to weed.
The reason people still smoke is because we are supposed to. The reason people quit smoking is the same. The illusion is free will. Here are 2 objectively true facts: 1. A person "Can" quit smoking. 2. Humanity "Can Not" quit smoking. It's pointless to try to disprove either one of these facts. Even if you can get a few people to quit, more will start faster than you can stop the others. Catering to nonsense like this video just feeds right into the trap they have set for you.
Where is it written anywhere that we are SUPPOSED to smoke? I call BS on that part of your statement. Smoking is a choice, not a necessity. Also your statement of free will being an illusion is bullshit too.
I'm fully aware of the poison that is tobacco and the horrors of addiction. Yet the poison smells good, the deaths caused yearly make it seem more compelling, the gears of capitilism slowly crushing me between their teeth. Quit before you're addicted. 2000 chemicals in each, hundreds of cancer carcinogens. The cost, the dive in your health (run away) smoking guarantees tooth loss & a very busy dentist. Higher insurance premiums and a guaranteed sickness later on. A woman I know, never smoked ever and she just developed emphysema, just from 2nd hand smoke. Smoking is fabulous! I quit two years ago, but I smoked almost all of my adult life - a pack a day - and it gave me so, so much pleasure. I have not experienced any negative effects of smoking those wonderful, and pleasurable cigarettes.
Sounds like you’re addicted
@@Fabifabiguden Hardly! I wouldn't have been able to give up so easily if I had been addicted. In fact, I NEVER felt addicted to smoking. I smoked because it gave me so much pleasure. Addiction is for people who cannot control themselves. It's all in the mind.
Are you a smoker or ex-smoker?
@@xelakram Things that make you feel pleasure are often addicting, I also misread your comment and didn’t realise you quit. I’ve never smoked and never intend to
@@Fabifabiguden I smoked my last cigarette in early April 2022. I quit cold turkey. Since quitting, I have actually never craved a cigarette. I am probably a lot older than you. In my day, it was normal to smoke. Most of my friends did. Those were in the good old days when people lived and let live. These days, there is a perpetual war on smoking. It really annoys me. Why? Because these days, young people do far worse things that smoke cigarettes. These days, they're into drugs and all sorts. All I have ever done in my life is enjoy a few cigarettes and enjoy a few drinks. Nothing stronger. By the way, I have never vaped; and nor do I ever intend to. I think vaping is far, far worse than smoking cigarettes. In fact my opinion was validated today when I watched a very informative video on the dangers of vaping. Many people who vape are vaping all day long. That is not usually the case with a regular cigarette By the way, it is good that you never took up the smoking habit. You have saved yourself a lot of money.
@@xelakram Yes im younger and I don’t shame you but I really just think taking drugs of any kind is irresponsible.
I quit right before college, it's been 7 clean years of life back to me :)
It's not the smoke that is helping the stress relief
It's the breathing.... ❤
The government needs to raise the price of cigarettes by £1 every year until smokers can't afford to buy them. Or impose smoking laws like they have in Singapore.
There's a reason why smuggling and black market is a thing as soon if that happened
@@veiserexab1428 smokers have low intelligence, they wouldn't know how to access the black market or get ciggerettes smuggled into the country, customs stops people from smuggling illegal ciggerettes for Russia and other Eastern European countries.
So much wisdom in those minutes.
Im free off of smoking for 3 years now,NEVER BEEN BETTER,SPECIALLY WHEN WORKING-out!
I am 38 and i have only recently started smoking that too occasionally. Honestly, I don't see what's enjoyable in it. It goes well with liquor i guess but that's about it, not a big fan of smoking for sure.
Its highly addictive trust me as a smoker its awful knocking them on the head , it can increase my anxiety but after 5 hours and lighting up its the best feeling ever , i flew to canada and couldnt smoke for 8 ½ hours and i was so annoyed getting off the plane dying for a ciggy , 1 day i will give them up
I quit smoking for 6 months and now and i feel 10 times more stressed then i did when i was. FACT !

Thank god I've never smoked and never will smoke
He is a legend, I quit smoking after reading his books, Easyway to Stop Smoking ( Read the book only if you really really want to stop smoking and really ready for that, otherwise don't)
It actually does relive the stress, but it is unhealthy both can be true at the same time.
It's not about people getting addicted to it it's why do they even start with it
It causers this illusion of relaxation as they often take a break and sit down. Then they take a few deep drags. Go sit down and fake smoking and you will be relaxed too. I say to people in my seminar you need to take breaks as a non smoker. Go sit down and take in a a few deep breaths. Also the nature of addiction is excuses. This is the big one form many. I am here i you need help, BMP Method- Sounds like some one has been reading my book published 2000- I have been saying how to be a happy nonsmoker for years. I wonder what else has been borrowed?
exactly! it's stupidly unfair that smokers can use smoking as an excuse for a break and non-smokers can't just go and relax a bit
Thank you .....damian o hara...
God bless you ......finally i quit....🎓
I searched for the reasons why some people smoke and keep smoking because I hatred the smell but want to understand those who love the smell.
The interview explained partly but didn’t talk about why it’s so wide spread 🤔

I agree with the quote at 9:27
60 a day? WOW? how does someone even have time to smoke that much? Just smoking 20 a day was way too time consuming for me.
You're paying for chain smokers on welfare.........
Suzanne Pleshette smoked for many years and died of lung cancer at age 70. It absolutely made me sick to see one of the most stunning women to ever live reduced to a coughing, sickly human being by her early 60s. What a tragedy.
She got what she deserved.
There is that nicotine buzz that people who smoke can obtain. It’s not the nicotine itself that’s the problem it’s all the chemicals and additives that are added to the cigarettes. If I had control over the tobacco industry for a day I’d get rid of all the additives known to cause cancer.
Winston and Camels has less or no chemical taste to it compared to Marlboro, chesterfield, and some others
But home grown tobacco is a way to go, without additives to it
I've been smoking for many years, and there are many ways to answer "why people still smoke." It has hundreds of factors involved, an individuals daily cigarette consumption, how often they go between cigarettes, etc, among many, many other factors.
Keep going then.
@@jessegoodman9462 that's exactly what I plan on doing.
a pack a day.
He is 💯 absolutely right.
Few reasons: the buzz is better than caffeine, feel relax, to pass some time, and contemplating thoughts, apart from knowing anyone will be gone anytime regardless of their lifestyle and life can be unfair sometimes
Still smoking isn't good
Smoking a cigarette and smoking weed looks dirty. I did both before and it’s dirty!
stfu
Difference is one will give you cancer and one won’t
@@mjdhrvevshs9745 inhaling anything into your lungs can give you cancer. Both can but the cigarettes are worse
is there even such a thing as "clean smoke" isn't that an oxymoron?
There's no such thing as clean everytime we breath especially in city cramped areas so why not
I am not sure this is correct even with my first cigarettes where I wasn't addicted at all I immediately felt the stress relief and that also applies for many people I have asked. im not saying nic withdrawal isn't stressful im saying it's a combination of the relief of the withdrawal and the stress of everyday life that keeps people smoking
Something to think about
I haven't smoked a single cigarette but still watching this why others do 😂
Just lit up my first cigarette to stay up for my exam and it worked better than coffee.
Stress of withdrawal, stress of health, suffering of health, more stress on money, more stress in relationships, more stress in work.
i smoke part time no problems. nicotine dilates the vegus nerve which can eleviate tension from time to time.
To anyone who finds my comment please: eliminate pork, sugar, redmeat, candy, sweets, processed food and fried foods from your diet and drink herbel tea's, Blessed Be.
Actually nicotine withdrawl is so mild you can barely notice it. It's not the physical withdrawl that is the problem, It's the mental withdrawl. That's what makes stopping smoking diffiuclt.
I used heroin 3 times I used coke a lot I used xtc a lot alcohol. Smoking is the most addictive.
I don’t use any substance now at all even alcohol I don’t drink. I just smoke weed only. And cigarettes.. I don’t see myself ever stopping. I hope I will when I get older but I started 13 it’s Half my life.
@@Jaapst I started at 8yo...yes 8. I was smoking regularly at 12 and a full 20 pack a day from the age of 18. I don't know what to say to you other than read the book...read it a thousand times if you have to...but get it into your head...cigarettes are one of the worst things that will ever happen to you...while at the same time pretending to help you...they're a trick...a con...and the y are fooling you out of your money and your health.
It's even worse when you always meet people bothering you and asking several questions, annoying people, the long waiting lines, and even the little noise is unbearable the further you go without smoking for days
ya know, here's something that almost every non-smoking propaganda fails to explore or recognize....some people LIKE TO SMOKE. yeah, that's right, they just smoke because they enjoy it, no other reason. i know its so simple it must be hard to believe right? most non-smokers even have an occasional cigar, but why? most non-smokers are drinkers, but why? we all know the horrible effects of alcoholism, easily far worse than the effects of smoking, and yet people still participate in that.
People get addicted to smoking because it gives you a buzz and it tastes good. Joints on the other hand are miserable and nasty while you're actually smoking it, which is why no one really gets addicted to weed.
No one gets addicted to weed? You have obviously been living under a rock lol
The reason people still smoke is because we are supposed to. The reason people quit smoking is the same. The illusion is free will. Here are 2 objectively true facts:
Al Ditomaso exactly
Where is it written anywhere that we are SUPPOSED to smoke? I call BS on that part of your statement. Smoking is a choice, not a necessity. Also your statement of free will being an illusion is bullshit too.
I'm fully aware of the poison that is tobacco and the horrors of addiction. Yet the poison smells good, the deaths caused yearly make it seem more compelling, the gears of capitilism slowly crushing me between their teeth. Complacency is easy in a world that seeks to take advantage of you, the smallest of escapes becomes the only reprieve amongst a life of torment and self hatred. I don't smoke but often wish I could pick up the habit for these reasons. Despite my knowledge of it's immense dangers and the reality that my romanticization of tobacco is wrong about one thing: it's not very fun.
Over 20 years a smoker and then one day looking my eight year-old sons eyes. I stopped no program no aids just stopped.
I will soon be 50, I have never smoke in my life, I watched my mom's dad suffer until de died in 1997 at age 71. He was on oxygen from about 1990 til his death.

I smoke because I enjoy it. It’s not any belief that it does something per se.
I love that he’s understanding and doesn’t shame the smoker to quit
I see a lot of people saying I quit and I feel completely changed or different now but the point is that I have never felt good nor now nor before.
I used to feel sorry for people who smoke. They were trapped in a society which expected it; even demanded it. Now I just they’re stupid or have a death wish. I still feel sorry for them, just in a different way.😕
You drink soda?
It’s funny how hard they press everyone to stop smoking. I bet if I started huffing spray paint they would beg me to switch to cigarettes.

When I was a kid, I see a pack of cigs? YEET to the trash. I did this to my parents, and in 1 month they stopped it. And they were feeling better than ever.
The reason people still smoke is mostly addiction, some people just genuinely like smoking too.
I smoked from 12 year old till 25 then quit for 7 years then picked it up for 6 months reread the Allan car book and quit again about a month now miss it once in a while mostly boredom tho
where did you get your cigarettes at 12? Steal them from your parents?
It’s the same reason as why do people drink soda and eat junk food even tho they know it’s not good for them.
I smoke because I got bored lol I was waiting for the bus after work and basically said "imma try a cigarette" smoked 5 ciggs over a few days - eh, didn't thrill me much
Quit before you're addicted. I watched someone die of lung cancer, worst experience ever. Horrendous
Many people continue smoking because the ways they try to stop are the hard ways. If only they'd try the Easy Way, they would find it easy to stop.
This guy knows what he's talking about. If you read Allen Carr's book, you'll know what he's talking about too.
At my heaviest I used to smoke 20 a day, which was a lot. Started at the age of 10. Am over 60 now and for many years I have been smoking between 3-7 a day, although there are days when I completely refrain from it. When I am creative, it helps to smoke, like an essay of a song. Do I want to give up?No, not really.
You're too old to give up.
I gave up smoking because a study says there is pigs blood in.I saw cigarette disgustingly and I quit
Though I am 15 days of no-smoking and I don't think I will ever turn back. And now when I see smokers I see them with a sense of disgust and want to tell them about pigs blood, and I did tell to family members.Lets hope they give up too Ohh sorry not give up there is nothing to give up as the speaker said.

Im so glad I gave up those things years ago. Dont miss it one bit !... I can imagine paying over $10.00 per pack in 2024, just to give myself cancer.
It doesn't cause cancer but merely greatly increases your chance of getting it
but i think some of the smokers do have the reason of looking cool or a smart gesture through cigratte while holding and take it to the mouth for inhaling. And there some multiple reason to smoke like addiction to the nicotine thats the well known reason among the public for why people smoke.
I wish I had smoked years only to look cool. Dumb statement. Perhaps that's what gets you to try it, but before long like xrack, you're addicted. Government should outlaw them.
