Good word. We learn everything in life by explanation, experience, and example. Here is my explamation based off of experience. Maybe it will be and example to someone ,though you can only read the explanation. Those little round packs, Zyn ,the nicotine salt you put in your mouth. Its not nasty like dip, tastes like mint . It works better than a patch for me, because it is intended to work for an hour at a time. A patch distributes nicotine for 24 hours. So there is no high point in that 24 hours if you get a craving. So ,I wake up, eat ,and want a cigarette. I can put the Zyn in. Its fast ,within a minute the nicotine hits me ,its not nasty at all, but like a mint. Its 4 dollars for 15 in a pack. But you won't need to use many. I went from a pack a day to using 5 of those. What about the hand to mouth addiction? This is why I almost switched to a vape. But what I did ,was grabbed a pack of hemp cigarettes. You can't puff them ,but you have to pull them like weed. But it smokes, and has no addictive chemical(maybe slightly for some, but not for me) So what this did ,was took the idea from my mind that when I puff something, I get my nicotine fix. However both cravings , the nicotine craving ,and the hand to mouth craving ,was satisfied. Now I like cbd products for my skin. I even use the Dr Teals Epsom salt for my bath and it has thc . However I do not like to alter my mind. I can say ,the hemp cigarettes come with a mild relaxing feeling ,then it wears off after a few minutes . They also were not addictive. Its not something you will are likely to end up going out and buying pack after pack like cigarettes. You see, once I broke the idea in my mind that nicotine comes from puffing something, it was easier to ween it out of my system. Both of my parents died of lung cancer 13 years ago. My mom never smoked . I'm 41 ,I quit smoking when I was 33. I've been to about 20 funerals and have a sister, aunt and uncle left. I didn't smoke for 7 years after I quit at 33 , then I had another ,different type of trial in my life ,and instead of completely relying on my faith ,I started smoking again. Smoked for 6 months. Before that 6 months ,I smoked weed for 5 months, which helped lead to that trial (i had been clean 7 years). The nicotine in the blunt wraps got me. So when I quit smoking weed, I went to cigarettes shortly thereafter . So I pretty much put my lungs through the ringer for 11 months ,although i could still run 7 miles on the eliptical because I do not slack on exercise and diet. We walk in the woods 4 or 5 times a week ,and eat healthy. A good friend of mine also quit smoking by switching to vapes. It seems better than the dry smoke from cigarettes which BBQ your lungs as he put it. So when I was 33 ,I quit cold turkey. This last time , I set a date. I said I would not smoke longer than 6 months and put it in my calendar . During the 2 months leading to the date , I experimented with patches ( which work pretty well) and and some herbal cigarettes. My friend who switched to vape stopped by one day, and gave me some ZYN salt wintergreen. I put those two together(salt and hemp cigs) with my faith , and putting down the cigarettes was easier than I expected. I also took some vacation time off of work , as we worked through the pandemic due to military orders. I do recommend that if you want to quit smoking that you try to get some time off of work. Try to remove any stressful thing from your life for a week or so. Stress also kills and leads to many different bad things , so if you are successful , consider trying to keep moving in that direction. Back when I was younger , I had to quit things several times due to getting locked up (5 drug felonies before I was 33). See it's not just about quitting, but having your mind made up. If you are of the faith ,then I have extra advice for you ,and even if not ,i can still help in some areas. I hope this helps someone who wants to quit . I want you to put the cigarettes down . I do believe tapering down with the vape would have worked as well , but I want people to know there are several methods for this . Maybe you tried one thing and failed. Maybe you have tried multiple times abd failed. There is a method for you. Our brains are not all wired the same. I have an addictive personality so I have to be extra careful. I think most of us are addicted to caffeine , let that be the only thing. If you kick that in today's world ,I salute you! Feel free to message me, my fb name is the same that is on here. Consistency is a sign of integrity. There are only a few things I waver back and forth with, depending on the topic. One is pragmatism. In this case , if you want to quit ,ask yourself if the ends justify the means. Here's a video to give you an idea of some of my thinking ruclips.net/video/x3o5YevtKwI/видео.html
Many thanks, I've been looking for "how long does nicotine withdrawal last on chantix" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Paybigailon Unimaginable Prestige - (do a search on google ) ? It is an awesome one off product for discovering how to discovering how to quit smoking minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin got excellent results with it.
I smoked heavily for 45 years. A few weeks ago, I'd been feeling bad for a week so went to my primary doctor. My doctor discovered that my blood O2 saturation was at 70 which is very dangerous. Huge risk of sudden death. Doctor sent me to the hospital. I was diagnosed with pneumonia and COPD. I knew I had COPD for years. It got so bad that I struggled to breathe when I laid down and my heart would pound. I couldn't walk 30 feet without breathing hard. The pulmonologist told me that if I continued to smoke, I'd be dead in 2 years. He also said that if I quit smoking now, I can expect significant healing and live a long life. The antibiotics, steroids and breathing treatments I got in the hospital really helped. After 4 days without smoking in the hospital, I have kept going. I feel so much better. My cardio has increased about 500%. I wear a patch when I'm at work and munch hard candy all day. The candy is what I used to replace the cigarettes. I've only been smoke free for 15 days, but that's something I was never able to do before. I know I will never smoke again. I almost passed the point of no return. Fast forward to 2022. What a trip reading what I wrote in 2017. It's been 4 years and 11 months now and I haven't smoked. I'm alive and feeling much better. In 2017, I told myself I would just have to endure the withdrawal and I did. I only used the patches for a few days. The hard candy helped a lot, but with or without it I will never smoke. If you make up your mind to do it, nothing can stop you. The cravings started to lessen after a couple weeks and I felt stronger. If you think you can't stop smoking, you're wrong. I did it. You can do it too.
@@wassimkh9120 Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by long-term breathing problems and poor airflow. The main symptoms include shortness of breath and cough with sputum production. COPD is a progressive disease, meaning it typically worsens over time.
i didnt start smoking until my 30's and i hate that i did... i started after my divorce and man it is hard af for me to quit but i embrace the challenge and will conquer this demon..
I'm on my 8th day, i have some cravings and i'm writing this just to encourage myself to not return to that shit. Smoking is slavery and it weakens my personality and damages my health mentally and physically. I will never return to smoking, not even one puff.. because i'm a superhero, i'm a fucking superhero!
I quit cold turkey 3 years ago, (edit: 4 years) still come back to this and other smoking related videos to reinforce the best decision that I ever made
DANIEL PHAM thanks man I really don’t miss it either, if you or anyone else is really thinking of getting over it but can’t, it gets easier with time, just stick to it
Also, if it’s worth anything, my tip to quit smoking would be to take up running, not much at first like 10 minutes three times a week. If you start small you’ll see your stamina increase and you’ll see smoking as a direct counter to your progress. That’s how I kept motivated. The best of luck my friends.
MK Suireng Chakma like no vaping, no nicotine patches, no one off cigarette on a Saturday night. If you need motivation there’s a fantastic video playing in the background of this comments section ;) Listen to Dr Mike he knows what he’s talking about. Much love all
44year smoker, and I quit cold turkey 11months, 28 days ago. 3 tips: Concentrate on cutting down months before your quit date. Limit yourself to only 1 cigarette an hour, this will get you below 1 pack a day. When you quit, drink a lot of water. Have a bottle of water with you, all day. Lastly, the hardest cigarettes to quit are the "boredom cigarettes." Figure out something to do, to fill in those boredom cravings--take a walk, read a book, etc. The REALLY good news: I had a Lung CT scan done. No signs of Cancer. It is NEVER too late to quit. You can do this, and I promise you, you'll be loving life when you get over that hump. Best of luck to you, God Bless. Remember, we're ALL born non-smokers.
Good plan. Even easier is to only smoke when you actually WANT to smoke, and only as much of the cigarette as you actually want. No beating yourself up. No suffering. No trying. This process keeps the nicotine at a steady state, and allows the natural body processes to get rid of the extra nicotine receptors the body had to make to accommodate the extra nicotine from routinely smoking cigarettes. Nobody has to quit cold turkey. I quit in 1975, started again in Iraq in 1991, quit using the same easy way when I came back to the States six months later.
Congrats! Fourteen year quitter here. The scary thing is that even decades after quitting, it can still get you. Talk to your doctor about how to keep an eye out for any complications( I've been tested three times for throat cancer) I was a caretaker to three friends dying of smoking related illnesses. Talk about incentive.
Hope that all of the recent quitters are still in the fight! I stopped and started numerous times before quitting! Not only that, but spent twelve to fifteen years buying individual cigarettes for a dollar in order to reduce my intake! For that long I smoked one to fifteen cigarettes a day! ( it was typically ten or less) because, for some reason, I could not have a pack in front of me without smoking one after the other.( I had been a two to three pack a day chain smoker for aprox. Fifteen years) one day, I was once agian, smoking five cigarettes or less a day, and thought" if I can't do it now I never will" and quit once agian. Fourteen years now. One strong piece of advice: when the urge hits0, get Busey, physically or mentally, and before you know it the moment will hpppave passed. Fourteen years later, I would not trade the way I feel for anything in the world! KEEP UP THE FIGHT! YOU CAN DO THIS!
one day I decided to wake up as a non smoker, no therapy, nothing, only by will power now it's been 8 months since my last cigarette! Best decision I've ever made. edit : it's been almost 2 years since I quit. my bodyweight was 44 kg when I was a smoker, my appetite increases a lot, I eat like an animal. I balanced it by doing weight training and now my bodyweight is 64 kg. I've never been this fit before. I also used to have anxiety, now it's gone. to anyone reading this and planning to quit, I wish you good luck and a happy life.
I did the same thing...just decided my body does not need cigarettes and I stopped... Just quit. Mind over matter I guess😊 it has been 8 years since I quit
It was a similar case for me. Started at 15 quit out of the blue at 24. I suddenly just didn't feel like it. Gained a bunch of pounds but it was fine since I have always been working out. I feel like I am gaslighting myself when I read the experiences of others but I never thought about quitting as being a big deal. For most of the time I smoked a cigarette per half an hour. But reading some of the comments makes me believe that I wasn't addicted but just being bored and going through the motions. I don't know, maybe it's me but I feel like making addiction out as an ever present shadow instead of a mosquito that you just need to make effort to squash seems like the false approach. This, of course only concerns tobacco and alcohol, both of which I have been addicted to.
I'm 29 years old, been smoking since I was 15. I stopped smoking August the 8th nearly a month ago. I watched this video almost a year ago with intentions of quitting. I finally did it.
Johan Syffert I'm feeling great. I stopped clearing my throat every 10 seconds and I can smell EVERYTHING which is kinda annoying but very cool in a way. I still want a cigarette but my body isn't craving it like it was before. I have stayed away from everyone who smokes and tried to put it out of my mind. I'm never NEVER going back. You just have to stop. There is no easy way or trick to it. Just don't think about it, stay away from it, and chew gum. Hold a pencil or pen between your fingers if you have to. Don't substitute for any other nicotine products either. It will keep you hooked forever.
That’s how I was feeling, trapped in the schedule of “smoke after meals, smoke while walking, smoke when I’m stressed, smoke when I’m bored” I got tired of it
@@Marvelous_spider-teen at some point, you can get disgusted over your decisions on smoking. Realizing how similar to a puppet you re being. That point can create great action along with the needed anger to make the move ^^. This can happen when you hit your lowest point...

I recently quit smoking and for some reason it wasn’t that hard. I told myself, “I wasn’t born a smoker. I started smoking by choice. Now my choice is to stop.” I find it strange myself but it worked. I also decided to make sure that whenever I felt the need to smoke, I would do something positive instead. That worked for me, too.
Everyone's story is inspiring me!!! I have done the hard part going from a pack a day to 5 or 6. I want to live so tomorrow I'm doing this because I hate smoking and it will be easy
Day 2-3 is the worst physically. Day 7-10 is the worst psychologically. Same goes for people whos trying to stop weed. Also dont let relapse make you give up. I relapsed weed smoking alot, but i didnt change my perspective about it. I just hated it more and more, which lead me to learn more about it. Eventully i got educated in knowing about whats going on with my condition. What helped me is that i prepared for it, then i isolated my self for 30 days. I kept my self moving, sweating, drinking 7-8 liter water a day, and followed vloggers talking about their condition while also stopping. Hearing that people is going through the same, and understanding that its natural detox symptoms was great help. Your body is getting clean. Eat healthy during your detox, because you are teaching your brain a new life style. Irritation, anxiety, insomnia, and loss of appitite is the main widrawal symptoms. Appitite will slowly get better after day 2. Same goes for insomnia, the more your appitite comes back the better you can sleep. Irritation will fade slowly after day 7-10. Anxiety will stick on a little longer. You know one gets same symptoms when losing someone close. Or a dog! Its normal, natural, and (not) dangerous like when quitting alcohol or heroin. Lastly! Its alright to be with the moment. Some people prefere to do it alone (thats what i did), some people need someone to talk with. Personally i dont like anyone to see my weaknesses. It would have made me relapse! Day 7-10 is mostly when people relapse. But also dont underestimate it, because many also relapse after 6month even tho they are over all cravings and widrawal symptoms. Thats because life can be tough in periods. So learning how to cope like you did before you started to smoke, is very important. In a sense you are getting born again. Day 14-30 is when you are over all widrawal symptoms and cravings. Thats when you feel like been reborn. You smile and proud of your self. You start to enjoy life! But as i said learn how to cope with problems and stress, as you did before you started to smoke, because life is full of surprices. Good luck
@@user-ih4fd9sf8x Trine was mentioning been reborn, and also to learn how to cope again as you used to, before you got depended on smoking your problems away. Treat your self as a new born the first 5 years after quitting. Because like a new born you would be vulnerable, and sensitive. During these 5 years teach your self to cope (slowly). And it could be things as simple as breathing exercises. Counting to 10 when irritated. Simple small baby steps that we learned as children but took them forgranted with time. During these first 5 years connect with your self. With the inner innocents / child. Its alright. You can use time looking at old pictures from when you were around 1-12 years old, ask parents how you learned to do this and that... have a moment together. Reminiscing what your gym teacher told you, when panicking during gym class. How to take it slow, focus. Etc... Do some meditation, yoga, jogging. Point is be good with your self the first 5 years after quitting. Take it slow. Connect with the inner child. And try not to take too much in exactly like a new born. Good luck 💫 and happy (new) year 🤗
Hey! Nice comment, Im in my day 8 without tobacco (I quit cold turkey), and it is true that psychologically I feel a little weaker than at the beginning, why do you consider that days 7 to 10 are the most complicated days?

I quit when I was 26, nearly 12 years ago, and I smoked for 13 years prior to that. When I quit I was smoking a pack and a half to two packs a day. I decided to just go cold turkey. I filled my pockets with my favorite flavored hard candy (cinnamon & root beer) and mustered up all the will power I could muster. I had tried to quit many, many times before. It was soooooo hard to quit that last time, but man I'm glad I did. If I can quit, anyone can quit.

I have never smoked a day in my life and don't suffer like smokers here in the comment section. But watching the video made me see how difficult it is for you and i really hope you all find the strength and direction to steer your way from it. I lived with a roommate for just 4 month and I never knew just how bad smoking can affect the body and mind. My roommate smoked 2 packs a day in the house. He was only 43 years old, former military ranger, fought in many places around the world, in fact he was shot on the battlefield and lived. Now after 20 years in the military and a habitual smokers he has a terrible cough an awful cough that is very persistent. One day he came back from the doctor with a new prescription , i said to him " so what's the pills for , the cough?" he said "no my heart". The doctor said his heart is affected and in some weird cycle loop is causing the severity of his cough. I jokingly but kinda seriously said "hey so you gonna quit now huh". He looked at me with a very serious look and said " no are you crazy man!". I laughed but knew he was dead serious about his commitment to cigarettes. This was the first time i ever experienced something like this, a 43 years old man with 2 young children, he should have just outright said to me he'd live long enough to smoke his next cigarette than see his children grow. A month later he had a wisdom tooth pulled, i was chatting with him the evening and said " holy cow that must hurt like a bitch". He immediately replied with " Man you know this doctor said to me you have to quit smoking at least long enough for the gum to heal and that the smoke would affect the healing process" he continued with his response to the doctor about temporarily quitting " I laughed and told the doctor I'm not quitting so let's figure something else out". The doctor gave him gauze to pack the gum every time he needed to smoke. I witness this guy go threw the hassle of packing his gum constantly to smoke, no surprise i took him to doctor to figure out why his gum wasn't healing. Anyway, i wasn't living with a druggie nor a drunkard but if this is anything close to what it is like to feed a meth or alcoholic addiction then smokers have it hard and need to band together to kick the habit for good. I learned first hand that smoking cigarettes is just like a heroine user.Heroine may make you sell your bed and food and die earlier from an overdose, cigarettes are more subtle, the bodily effects are slower the social stigma is minimal. Watching my roommate for 4 months made me see that cigarettes affect your rational thought and ultimately leads to irreparable illness and still cause your death at any rate. There are folks here talking about the issues they have that makes quitting difficult. It may be hard but you must stop or you'll end up like my roommate, an irrational addict willing to cause a gum infection, deepen a heart condition to continue the smoking addiction. Please folks.
Judith Storck >>So, right now, pretty soon I WILL quit. Right now is right now. Pretty soon is not right now. It's been seven months. How's your quitting going?
@@awhatzable Cold Turkey is the best, but it also depends on mindset, smokers need to realise they have been brainwashed by the nicotine when they make excuses like "It's a crutch" or "I enjoy it". As soon as you realise the only reason you continue to smoke is simply addiction to the drug, then cold turkey becomes a much easier method to take.
Please suggest Allen Carr's book to the ones who smoke - Its can change their life for good... And good Karma for you :-) ruclips.net/video/OE4i6NbLddY/видео.html
I quit smoking for a girl i loved, she told me to And so I listened, i convinced my self that im doing this for her And then i realized actually i did it for myself, i did a huge favor for my future self And I wont smoke again even if i break up with her
5 days in so far. 3rd day was the worst and if there had been some cigarets in the house, I´ve would´ve smoked'em all in a row. But at the same time I knew there isn't any and that Im not going to a store to buy them. I started when I was 13 and that's 25 years ago. I´ve never been smoke free more than 3 days at time before. But It feels better this time. Allen Cars Easyway book helps. It pretty much tells you what you already know, but it help's when someone lays down some hard facts to your bonyhead.
It has been 15 years since i started smoking and i find it impossible to quit right now. There's a fight between me and my cravings, the nicotine craving is a sensation, exactly like hunger or thirst. It's a challenge not to smoke for 4 hours and i really can't quit. The solution for me: buy a boat, head into the storm, get thrown on a deserted island with no cigarettes or matches...Even then i would dry some leaves, learn how to make fire with sticks and smoke those dry leaves :)) I hate my life as a smoker.
This is exactly how i feel...Been smoking for 30 years and if i was on a desserted island i would do the same thing...I can go without food but not my smokes?? Its crazy!! But when i fly on a long flight knowing in my brain I CANT smoke i am ok with it or when i am visiting a relative in a hospital and i sit with them for most of the day I again am ok with it....Cause my brain knows im not allowed to smoke so i dont feel the urge to in those situations..Yet as soon as i get off the plane or outside the the hospital etc i chain smoke like crazy....It is weird....Now if i could get my body and brain the same feeling i have when i am in places where i cant smoke when i am outside i could win this battle....Like you i hate it...But its a battle....
Popular videos around the world Awesome. This is my 3rd day. I hope I make it. The biggest problem is I have to leave my house once in a while. Once I leave my apartment, the cravings hit me hard. How do I cope with this?
Popular videos around the world Okay, thanks a lot! Lucky for me, I have a very fast metabolism, so it shouldn't be a problem. I eat a lot, but I never gain weight. It's hard to imagine myself not craving a cigarette anymore. I have some sniffing tobacco at home. Should I replace it with it? I heard some people have did it to quit smoking.
2 weeks without smoking. Smoke for 16years I’m 32 this year. My advice : keep a journey or calendar to acknowledge your days without smoking. its not easy but its getting better. I’m looking forward to Everyday 11pm to put a cross on my calendar that I’m free of smoking for the day.
That is actually very Good Advice. To have something positive to look at and something to write down at the end of each day that is positive to what you are trying to accomplish. I think I'm going to start doing this. Thanks!
Ive smoked since i was about 14 years old regularly, im 28 now, i quit for one year while i was pregnant, the only thing that ever seemed to push me to do it. I quickly started again as soon as i knew it wasnt directly affecting my baby. Now 9 years later, my son asks me to quit all the time and ive finally gotten to the point where i want to do it . This video has been SOO incredibly helpful. Thank you so much.
EDIT: I DID IT! I REALLY DID IT! IM NOW OFFICIALLY ONE MONTH CIGARETTE FREE! DONT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF! YOU CAN DO IT! I’m planning on quitting tomorrow. What finally did it for me was how I still smoked while I was sick this past weekend. Terrible cough, sneezing, sore throat. Didn’t want to eat or drink, but still smoked. I just can’t do this to myself anymore. I really hope I can do this. I want to come back to this post some day and be able to say I DID IT. All the comments here are giving me so much hope. Congrats to all the people who were able to kick this disgusting addiction ❤️ can’t wait to join y’all! EDIT: I failed, twice, but I will say this: IT GETS EASIER EVERYTIME I TRY TO QUIT. DONT GIVE UP! WE CAN DO THIS
That's my experience too! I know when I'm sick it will give a coughing fit, but I do it anyway. Thats the insanity of addiction. When I'm sick I always know I'm getting better because I want to smoke more. How silly is that?🙄
When I started using the patches I literally quit for 3 months but by the 3rd month I was so stressed that I knew a cigarette would be so good at the moment and I started back up again and I'm currently trying to quit again. It's harder than quitting drugs and alcohol. With the help of the Lord I can do anything so I do believe He will help me overcome this time.
Jesus Christ, the King of kings delievered me from 10+ years of smoking and drinking overnight on JAN 12TH 2020 when I decided to surrender my own will. Since then, i dont even think about it or crave it- no not one bit. He can do the same for you. Seek Him and you will find him. God bless.
NOv2022. This video was what i needed right now. I’m 6 weeks in to my liberation from cigs and was having a really hard day. I parked outside the cig shop and started listening to this. I ended up driving away w/out buying any. Thx.
I am 32 and smoked since I was 17. Today marks 12 days cold turkey and it is definitely hard sometimes. But it is also not nearly as bad as I thought it might be. It feels great each day that I stay cigarette-free. Like Doc pointed out, the reality of smoking cessation is not nearly as bad as the imagined experience of it. Stay strong! It is all just in your head!
It’s been 10 months since I quit smoking after being a smoker for 15 years. It’s the best decision I’ve made in life, just can’t picture myself ever smoking again. It’s just gross.
Congratulations!!! Coming from a non-smoker, it is so gross. My husband has been a smoker for over 30 years. I never thought I would be with a smoker but I love the guy. I try to talk to him about quitting but always get dismissed. I know that’s his nicotine receptors mad at me lol It’s out of my control so I have to let it go or else I will be stressed. All the best to you 😊
that is your opinion, i am happy for you that you feel better, but i am and will always be a nicotine slave with passion, if i truely want to stop, i can.
My tricks to stop: Quit when you have the cold or flu (for me this was the only time that I didnt want to smoke at least for a few days), if you cant imagine coffee wiothout cigarette, switch to tea if you like it....I also have used tea (green tea) to replace cigarette after eating...This helped me a lot :) Also green tea prevented the weight gain...
Started my journey of quitting 5 days ago and can already see the difference in my breathing. The next couple of weeks will be tough with the cravings and physical side affects but I’m powering through for good this time, even if I have to cut off friends for a while. Done with smoking.
57 years old, Quit smoking (half pack a day), quit eating refined sugar products, quit smoking marijuana ( joint every night). I’m 6’ tall 225lbs. First week was hell! Lost 7 lbs. now heading into week two. Anxiety is still hanging around, I’m staying positive, the anxiety is supposed to go away. The weight loss is very encouraging, bending over to put my socks on is definitely easier
I balanced quitting with weight lifting..... SUCCESS !!! Anytime I got the urge, I would pick up a weight, and just in a minute...my craving evaporated. Relizing it is so much better to be healthy, than out of breath !
Having a hard time divorcing smoking from being home. I've stopped smoking at work, school, and in public in general. So much that no one knew I was a smoker. But at home, I get trapped in my routine and fall back on it. I'm hoping to break that habit this year! Stay strong everybody! You can do it!
I'm going to quit. I'm going to change up my tactics this time, this time I'm not going to tell anyone (aside from you guys) every time I try to quit, I always make it this big thing, I tell everyone. Maybe if I just keep it to myself I can finally kick it
@@gnarlynick6038 maybe it's because it puts extra pressure on us. and when we feel pressure, we're going to grab for a smoke to ease it. More likely to succeed if you keep it to yourself.
My 50 year old daughter was diagnosed with oral cancer because she had been a heavy smoker for many years. I had no experience with any kind of cancer before this happened. It was shocking to see her after her surgery. It took 8 months to get to the point she could return to work. She is cancer free for now and I am so happy that she is still here with all of us.
I am a doctor too and I don't think anyone could have explained about the journey better than doctor mike , a big thumps up to you! To everyone who's on this journey your not alone my friend, this journey is a tough one and if your watching this you know it , if you have tried to quit and failed then its a part of the process, lemme tell you , your 50% there and its 50times better than not even trying because its tough , ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE THE COURAGE TO FAIL ,WILL EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO SUCEED! Your awesome and you are stronger than you know
I gave up cigarettes cold turkey after 20 years without any nicotine replacement aids and it was easier than I thought it would be. I was expecting the nicotine withdrawal to be really bad but in truth I didn't really notice it that much. The hardest part was changing my daily routine which felt weird to begin with but after a couple of weeks it started to feel a bit more natural and I could start enjoying the benefits of not smoking. I don't want to sound preachy here but if you are looking for an incentive to quit, apart from the obvious health benefits, just think of the money you'll save, not having to go outside and freeze in winter, not having to think about always having a lighter or how many ciggies you've got left, not having to deal with people who are offended by your air pollution, or your stinky, acrid breath! But most of all, you have the satisfaction of no longer being slugged with a huge tax by the government while the rest of your hard earned dollars go to a cigarette company that is thriving on your continued addiction to their product. You can be free of it, all you need to do is simply not put them in your mouth.
Agree nicely said, but for me none of those things made me stop smoking, only my health issue made me stop.. I'm only 24 years old and i have a body of a 60 years old, my lungs are messed up.. Been smoking cigarettes and weed since i was 12 years old..
@@twentytwo138 yikes man that’s no good! You’re young so you have the regenerative power of youth to help you recover. All the best with it. Thanks for your comment. It’s rare to have such a big health impact so early in life. In my experience, most of the people I know who smoke don’t worry too much about getting sick from it because its a chance they’re willing to take in order to have something they enjoy. But at the same time most of them would give it up if they felt like they could. My original message was directed at those people really. Anti smoking messages are nearly always focussed on the health benefits but I think the benefits are much wider than that - especially financially. Here in Australia the cost of cigarettes is absolutely ludicrous.
I’m almost 42, started smoking at age 12/13. I quit for 2 years, the one and only time I ever quit and loved being a non smoker. Three months ago I went through a very stressful event in my life and started again. Probably only because I had already had 3 beers and I don’t normally drink anymore so while buzzed I bought a pack. I am up to a pack a day again and I hate myself. I’m so ashamed of myself. I have small children and tried to hide it at first but couldn’t any longer. I keep trying to smoke all of my cigarettes like 10 in a row to be done with the pack but the next evening keep buying more. I need the strength to quit again. I only quit because I was nursing my son. I started the week he stopped nursing. I feel like I have no reason to quit now which I know is not true but that is the only reason that ever got me to quit. Please pray for strength for me to do this again.
You managed to quit before and can quit again if you want to :) Passive smoking affects pets and humans in your vicinity. I think your son would prefer having you alive and happy for as long as possible. You have done it before and can do it again! :)
I managed to quit for one year. Started again two months ago, at first just asking a neighbour to give me one cigarette when we would meet for a chat, before I knew it, I was buying cigarretes again and smoking one pack in some days. Now I realised that anyone can always get back and the fight needs to be constant. I will quit again, this time I will not break, I have a responsability for me and my family. TAKE CARE GUYS! YOU CAN DO IT! NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!
@@user-fh4sl2fz3y find hobbies bro. its not about luck, if you treat it that way, youll never recover man. find some things in life that will bring you joy. theres much more to live for than a pack of cigs
Mijay12, that is _SOOOOO_ true! The only other time I quit, I was able to make it to two years (I was only able to quit with the help of Chantix though). And then I had a massive relapse and it has taken me another two years to try to quit again (I have just completed my fifth day of being smoke-free). What got me was a *massively stressful period of time* that I was not prepared to mentally handle without slipping. One cigarette was all it took… And then I cheated again a couple weeks later, and then again a week later, and then a few days later... and next thing I know, I was back to smoking a pack a day! You really do have to be on your guard for the rest of your life, using any other coping skill you can possibly imagine before resorting back to having that one cigarette (because you think you can handle it). At the moment, I am struggling with destroying the one cigarette I have left in my pack from the night before I chose to quit. That is the mental part of it! After I had made it past the first day of being smoke-free (again, with the help of Chantix… I had been on the drug for three weeks at this point), I really thought I had smoked the rest of the pack when I quit, so I was veru disheartened to discover the next day that I actually had *ONE* left in there (knowing full well that one is all it takes). I am trying to build up the will power to destroy that one cigarette so that it won’t be an easy option to slip when I get too strong of a craving or a really stressful moment in time. He is really crazy what a physical and psychological grip this drug called nicotine will have on us the moment we began consuming it. The scientists aren’t kidding when they say that quitting nicotine is more difficult than quitting heroin! So after telling my story, I have to ask you: Have you tried quitting again since you wrote your remark here? If so, how did it go?? I sincerely hope you quit again and were finally successful this time (and remain successful!).
I'm glad my fiancee quit. I know he still has the urge to smoke (expecially when people around him go for smokes). For everyone who has quit or working on it, I hope you know that your family and friends are really proud of you.
It almost feels like you have to 'quit' every day 🤔 I'm on day 4 (sad I know) but I'm afraid it will just be a never ending struggle, because the temptation is always there and easily available
I'm on day 6 no vaping. I never thought I could get this far. Day 4 was by far the worst, my anxiety was peaking, and I ended up pacing around my house throughout the day. Working out helped a lot. My cravings come and go, but my will is strong, I know I will quit this time. Day 5 was bliss. I had no anxiety what so ever, my heart is as calm as a hot summer day. It brought a peace to my soul. I was the heaviest vaper I know, if I can do it, anyone can do it. Don't give up, the cravings go away. Your lung health is worth the now and again cravings. Do it for your future. You deserve it.
Here is my inspiring story guys.. I started smoking when i was 18 and after 5years i became a chain smoker(1packet/day), which made my bp high(150/100). It was a wake up call for me. I suddenly quitted smoking. And it's been 4months since i smoked the last cigarette. Now my bp is 120/82, which is normal. Initial few days were so hard to stay away from cigarettes but now i'm completely doing good. Now i have started hating cigarette and the people who smoke around me. Now i feel more energetic. Please friends don't ruin your life for a temporary happiness. We have to live and fulfil our dreams and make our parents proud. #ChooseLife. :) All the best.
I quit smoking 3 years ago and I found the best way was to not avoid triggers but to embrace them and use them to make me stronger and each time i chose not to smoke it was easier to say no the next time, but of course each time you give in makes it harder to say no the next time
I'm trying to quit smoking cigarettes at the moment I've cut down i went from over a pack a day down to about twelve a day my anxiety and depression has gotten worse plus I'm trying to quit drinking coffee as well to anyone else trying to quit smoking cigarettes I wish you the best of luck and godspeed.

I always found it lame of my parents to not let me smoke when I was late teen. I appreciate their stance on smoking nowadays. Never starting to smoke was in fact a good idea.
I am quitting and I threw away my cigarettes 2 weeks ago. Then 4 days later my sister who smokes needed somewhere to stay for a while and I let her stay here. It doesn't help, I know she has cigarettes and now most days I've had at least part of a cigarette. But my nicotine cravings are way down and I found that one day without smoking isn't too hard, so I'm in this in-between phase. I've been in this in-between phase with cigarettes before but this time I really am quitting for good. Posting this comment to keep myself honest, I don't wanna be reminded of it in a year with me still being a smoker.
Just wanted to update you. This helped so much. I was able to stop for ten days. I made the mistake of taking off the patch from the second day on and live with a smoker. After ten days in a bad moment, I told him to give me one. The great thing is it worked and I will not stop till I am stopped. I came back here to watch the video as preparation. Thank you. The fact I was able to even go ten days was amazing and I am sure I now can and will quit.
In 59 minutes I've made it 4 days of no smoking, I've been using patches and have a 0 nicotine vapor that has surely helped with my hand to mouth habit..this is hard..but this is worth it, my second son will be here in twenty days and I will not be a smoker any longer. Thanks for this vid, doc!
God bless.
The thing that worked for me after 8 years smoking is that i saw myself already in my mind as a non smoker. In my mind i saw that al my friends and family smoked and im sitting with them confident without a smoke. So then i did this just as in my mind and feel the feeling of not smoking and how much healthier it would make me. Sorry for bad English xp i had 10 cigarettes left and gave Them to my brother in law never looked back
I quit last summer, cocaine coffee benzos cigarettes, all in the same time after a panic attack on cocaine. 7 times to ER after that.. Every minute of my life was horror for 2 months until i start treatment with xanax xr and lexapro, now after 6 months i'm fine, i don't take treatment anymore. Sorry for my english.
Hope you are still a non-smoker... I quit mine using Allen Carr's method. It was easy and effortless. I am a happy non-smoker now! ruclips.net/video/OE4i6NbLddY/видео.html
I’ve been a smoker for 18 years,at one point I stopped for 9 month cold turkey . I felt so much better, gain weight and my appetite but then when my dad died in 2014 I started back and now I’m trying to quit again for good . Hope this works.
Thanks for the help. I been smoking for 40 years and I've seen so many of my family members die from smoking related health problems, and now here I am in bad health before I finally get serious about quitting. keep up the good work and God bless you for caring.
Started at 11, stopped at 22. 27 now and couldn’t be more proud. One of the hardest things I’ve done but I’m happy now that it’s done, and that’s what you have to remember is that there is an end point. You WILL feel better after feeling bad now as that is the sacrifice. CBD no nic cigarettes and CBD vapes helped a ton, cold turkey on nic otherwise.
Cravings for smokes after quitting splits into two kinds. One in your head (mind) one in your body. Your mind's cravings need time to readjust. Hold out. The bodily cravings are merely nothing but drug addiction. Your body demands it. Hold out for the first two weeks (the worst) and by a month or two it'd be gone.
I tried quitting November of last year (cold turkey) but it only lasted for 21 days then I relapsed. It happened when I went out drinking with my friends. Sucks, I know. Now, I'm trying to quit again. It's been more than 24 hours that I'm smoke free. This is going to be real struggle again. God, I hope I won't relapse this time.
Good luck, I don`t knw if you`ve had a cigarette since you posted this comment, but if you have, I`m sure you can retry. Two thumbs up, hope you`ll find the strength to stop for good.
ChristiDiscipulus Hihi that's pretty rad but you don't have to, but thank you still. :) I'm really sure and know this time that I won't light another or even that "just one" cigarette in the future. It's sounds cheesy but I believe I can do this. :D Thank you again for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. xxxx
I literally took notes!!! I haven’t been smoking long. Only since summer of 2020. And I smoke at the worst 7 or 8 cigarettes a day, at my best 3. It really depends on my stress level. But I want to quit before it gets out of hand. I have high hopes the content in this video can help me.
This is the most inspiring video I've seen so far about quitting. It's the only video that didn't make me feel like a scumbag for failing in the past and it helps with facing the next round. You sir, are a beast
I started smoking at 12, and by 20, up to 3 packs a day. I quit at 30 after 5 years of trying. Just don't stop trying. The quitting part comes over time.
i quit smoking 10 years ago at 55. i did not start smoking until i was 20. i quit smoking several times but it finally took at 55. i got up the 8th time.
I’m currently 2 days without cigarettes almost 3!.. this is my 3rd time quitting. I’m 30 and have been smoking since I was 16. I’m doing it for my health and my son’s. Everyone around me smokes from my parents to best friends and it has been so hard and it makes me feel left out at times. This video really put it into perspective on the reason I’m doing this, and not to give up. It was inspiring to read all the comments of success stories!! Can’t wait to be one of them!
@@moallday Nice! It’s been 3 months and 3 weeks exactly for me so far! So we are very close in how many days smoke-free we are. Grats, dude. :) How is it for you? I still struggle with urges and miss it, but I enjoy breathing so much better and enjoy the money saved too much to give in. P.S. This is my 3rd time quitting too! Just like you. I started when I was 19 (but I just turned 47 this week, so I smoked for 25 years in total). My first try lasted 6 months. 2nd try lasted 2 years. This one is gonna be for life! Third time is the charm, right? :D
What worked for me was a stopwatch. Every time I felt the urge, I would see how long it had been from the last smoke & talk myself into waiting another five minutes. Many times, I just forgot about it & by the time I had the urge again, sometimes an additional half-hour had passed. The urges became farther & farther apart until they stopped completely.
That is my method too, I don't say that I quit, when the craving pops up, I say I will have one later, and the craving subsides after few minutes and you forget about it. Happening less and less each day.
@mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen addictive personality yes weak mind no. I just started at a young age so lifestyle ties into all that. Its not the same for every person, but i know plenty of dispensaries that use addictives
I love how this was presented. I'm going to try again. I quit for a month and it was miserable for me, I cried like I lost a loved one. My addiction was so strong but I was told after a month it gets better so I stuck with it. My husband smokes so they're readily available and in my sight constantly. I was having a bad day and thought, "I'll just have one, not even one just a couple drags" Why did I think I could do that? So now after all the guilt and shame I put on myself I almost went out to buy my own brand and just throw in the towel but I came across this video. So on went a patch and a piece of gum and here I go again... 🤞 No guilt, I'll just chalk it up as a learning curve (falling 7 times and getting up 8) Here I go again. I'm going to watch this video everyday
Day 6 for me & since Spring has sprung (somewhat) going to clean up my bike & start riding to grocery store etc... I am a health conscious gal & I already feel the awesome benefits & looking forward to feel greater yet! One time I needed to do something drastic that would groase me out from smoking, so I had cig butts in a jar which I added water to... sooo when I had an urge, I looked at it and or smelled it. Believe me when I say "the urge quickly subsided!" Btw... I had quit 30+ times for 6 years in total throughout 35 years but I demand control over my health & costly addiction once & for all & is so freeing🦋🌻🌈 Write a pros list & take up new hobbies etc... "You got this!"
Did you succeed? I hope you did, I have asthma, problems with sinuses, a lot of mucus which bothers me throughout every day, I can't cough it out. One of the reasons I didn't try to quit, although was thinking about it, was that I thought my health is gonna stay the same because of asthma, more mucus is one of the things asthma gives you, so I thought quiting smoking will do nothing in that aspect. I hope I'm wrong, I'll try to quit. 😬

4:24 “No advice on sex.” Here’s mine: if you like sex, don’t smoke. Quitting immediately boosted my drive, which had sunk below my wife’s drive. Since I quit a couple months ago, drive and performance have been noticeably better. Married 22 years and lately it’s been more adventurous and frequent than ever. One of the many benefits of ditching this awful addiction. 😁😁😁
I'm on my 3rd day of quitting now. I found your comment interesting. My drive has been pretty low for the past few years. I'm in my 40's. I'd been wondering how much cigarettes could be at play. I'm wreaking havoc on my heart, lungs and circulatory system, I'm possibly causing a dopamine dump in my brain. These are things that can def screw with a sex drive. I'm hoping I see some improvements like you did.
I quit for 6 months and i started again. My friends told me that now i can never quit cause after trying everything i have failed. I believed that too. But today i decided to try again. This is a journey. After 1 year i am back to this video. Thanks. Hope i will not fail again
Few years ago i also quit for 6 months and then started again because it was so tempting when every friend i had smoked. Now again i quit this time with the help of vaping and im 1 month cigarette free already im 99.998% sure that im not gonna start smoking because it just smells disgusting now for me and thats good.
hi guys, the best results that I have had was by following the Quit Smoking Crusher (i found it on google) definately the most useful method i've followed.
I just want to thank you for this amazing video. It's been almost two years since I stopped smoking cold turkey. Almost two years ago, your video helped me understand what I was going through and ultimately defeat nicotine addiction. I came to share this link to a friend who wants to stop and had to go through it again. I'm so grateful I found your video. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you saved me.
I am on day five of being smoke-free now, and I just saved this video to my playlist to refer to any time I get a craving that is so strong I think I will not be able to give into it. It is a great video indeed and super informative!
22 years heavy smoker, quit for 35 days today. very difficult. i think the key is to 'get prepared for boredom'. the first few days i felt absolute boredom, nothing to do, what to do now? , something is terribly missing, always want a cigarette, dont want to get up, and life is very meaningless. to be ready to live in this boredom was my biggest helper i believe. it is a war and the weapon that is fighting you and attacking you every day is 'boredom'. you need to be prepared for it, and you wont be able to destroy it, just be ready to face it every day and do not say i give up. it will keep coming every minute probably. no problem, just stand your ground.
It gets easier with time. Use that time and money for something more useful and look for new things that makes your life enjoyable. Ive never smoked once in my life so I dont understand your boredom or feelings entirely but it feels good to be not addicted and I wish you could feel the same
30 years ex-smoker, only using patch and it works. It’s also a mindset. Just don’t do it. Training in the gym 3x a week and discovered walking as a perfect distraction ( yesterday 10km ). Everything in this vid is 100% accurate. Stay strong 💪🏻 stay healthy ❤️
I wasn't even intending on quitting. 8 years ago I got one of the worst flu's in the history of mankind, was on my back for 4 days. Did not smoke, barely ate and was guzzling water. Recovered after 4 or 5 days, had a big breakfast and then stepped outside for my first smoke in almost a week...and it made me so sick to my stomach that I almost vomited right there. Tossed it and ever since then, even the thought of smoking makes me nauseated. And this is coming from a guy who loved to smoke.
I feel I am ready to quit smoking after 11yrs. I actually planned to quit smoking tomorrow and I've only had 2 cigs today. just cutting down to 2 cigs has been a challenge indeed. the hardest part (being British an all that) is I love to drink Tea and that is a HUGE trigger for me, I always have a cig after drinking Tea so I am going to have to cut down dramatically on my Tea too. I drink Tea almost as much as I smoke. wish me luck!!
Very nice presentation. I started to read Alan Carr’s book when I quit. I over smoked one night and felt awful and really wanted to quit, where I could feel good. The book explained the process of smoking and addiction so well and perhaps made everything easier, or then again, it made it so that I could understand the process of stopping and supported myself through this journey. The book kinda dumped you at the end, which was rather strange, but I was full-on for the ride of quitting for good. “I made up my mind!” I reinforced how good I felt and repeated to myself that I was a non-smoker now and had some mental tricks to reinforce the reinforcement. It worked and then I enlisted the big guns in starting Wim Hof breathing and yoga and I added in meditation. It’s not rocket science and you don’t need courses and expensive rambling books - Just Do It? It’s all over RUclips and there’s an app to help log one’s journey. I felt great over the next weeks and found I could walk, run and do things without getting winded, which reinforced the whole concept again. How stupid was smoking! I realized then I didn’t need these expensive killer things in my life. I started running up and down mountains; slowly at first, but stopping to enjoy the journey and Mother Nature. I can now do 10 to 12 pull-ups on a door frame hang bar, followed immediately by 20 press-ups each day with little effort, except - The mind to ‘Just Do It” . I feel good. Even lockdowns didn’t deter me; in fact it helped me a lot. I am 72 years old and feel so much better. It started with a first step of agreeing with myself to QUIT and then without a fixed destination, enjoyed the ride and didn’t suffer after the first week or so. It’s mental reinforcement gymnastics and in that resolve you will also be a winner. It’s been well over 7 years now and I feel great. I guarantee that if you make your decision and follow some good advice; you will feel so much better too! If you at any time you may feel a crave; remember that when you take a drag on a cancer stick, you convince yourself it tastes good, but three drags on, when the craving is somewhat satisfied, the taste will become awful and the coughing disruptive if you continue. So you remember that in all its horrible so-called glory and thank your lucky stars that you QUIT and feel so good now. Any time you feel yourself weakening; remember that horrible, ‘$hitty’ taste in your mouth and lungs and how you used to wheeze so much before you quit for good and how great you are feeling now. Every day in every way you are feeling better still is a good mantra.
I really struggled to quit smoking. (I had thought I wasn't addicted but suddenly, I realized I totally was!) How I quit was by taking the prescribed limit of Nicorette gum BUT not in the way they recommended: I would bite off just half or a third of each piece when cravings struck and chew down to release the nicotine just every few minutes. I was able to have relief most of my waking day. Another weird thing I did was this (but it worked!) When my bf or pals were going to a dark club & invited me along, I did not want to miss out. SO I went with them but after a while, when second-hand smoke wafted by, instead of longing to smoke I brought out a large apple and took tiny bites of it for over an hour & then danced. I'd heard that alcohol does not help at that stressful time so I ordered cranberry juice with soda-water (spritzer). It tasted tart and fooled my taste buds and had the added effect of making me a popular designated driver. Once several months went by, I tackled my dependence on the gum and now I'm smoke-free, nicotine-free, and I feel so GOOD and genuinely DON'T miss it at all. YaY.
This is an IMPORTANT P.S. which also helped me greatly: I told myself I could not fairly decide whether or not to smoke while addicted to nicotine. I made a pact to quit cigarettes for just six months and THEN I'd be in a better position to choose whether or not I really wanted to be a smoker. It was very scary for me to think that I would never smoke again so I told myself this was just for 6 mos. & then re-evaluate. LOL, once I had gone through that time period, I was so happy to be nicotine-free BUT if I hadn't been, I imagine I'd have told myself I'd be a fool to backtrack. And btw, DON'T have an occasional one at a social event, your present level of addiction never dies down and this can set you off puffing away all over again. Believe me, I know...this happened the first time I tried to quit.
I’ve smoked for about 10 years and the longest I went with out one was about a year, alcohol is my major trigger so that lead me back to smoking. I’m quitting for good this time and it feels much easier since I know my triggers. Keep your mind busy, chew gum, inhale and exhale like you would with a smoke and have an end goal or something to look forward to. Good luck everyone you can do it!
It’s been a month for me and I haven’t looked back (except once when I was extremely stressed out but that just reaffirmed my want to quit) the cravings were bad for the first 3 days but they subsided. The decision is a serious lifestyle change. If you don’t think you can quit it’s because you are not ready to give up the lifestyle revolved around smoking. I now go for walks every day, prioritize alone time so I can focus on my goals (which helps with the cravings), I learn new things everyday, make room for a creative activity etc, the list goes on. It’s a complete 180 switch, and people aren’t ready to give up the life they’re so used to. So grateful I am strong enough to curb my bad habits in the same place they started.
This video is such an inspiration, thank you! I believe that one of the most common reason why people cannot quit is that they actually don't want to quit, don't want to loose a 'friend' in cigarette, or just don't believe in themselves. But you should always try to live healthy life, and it is impossible with cigarette in your hand! Thank you for telling about experience and explaining people that quitting is real and possible. And from my experience first days are the hardest, so it's better to take something that will help you with a withdrawal symptoms, something natural like USDA Organic Mullein Drops for Lungs NUTRAHARMONY. That helps to breath easily and cough up.
This was very informative doctor, thank you! I was a heavy smoker for 20 years and quit 15 years ago. Avoiding bi-annual bouts of bronchitis was a huge motivator. Thought I dodged a bullet until last year when I had a little ulcer on my tongue that wouldn't heal. Biopsy revealed stage 1 cancer. The oncologist said that oral cancer is directly related to smoking. July, 2020 I had surgery to remove part of my tongue. It was a nightmare. Had to be tube fed for a month because it was too painful to eat and drink. I was lucky in the sense that I didn't need chemo or radiation treatment but the doctor said there are cancer cells in my mouth that can become malignant. It's too late for regrets but the way I see it, the sooner the better when you quit smoking. Cancer is very real, very expensive and very painful.
Hope you’re fine now . I smoked less than a pack a day for 15 years, than gave up for 8 years, relapsed and smoking about 10 cigarettes a day . 2 months ago a small ulcer on my tongue, 40 days waiting for the biopsy which came back yesterday and it’s NEGATIVE . Dear lord thanks . But doctor was quite clear , “you’re under the radar now, you dodged the bullet once…it’s up to you to give us smoking NOW” and I did . I have to .
@@albertobenelli negative biopsy, wonderful news! Congratulations on quitting smoking! I wish that cigarettes and tobacco were included in the category of illegal drugs. Tobacco companies have too much money and are too powerful to let that happen.
@@krisinpa8302 that would be the right thing to do, I have a 15 years old daughter and really count on her never smoking her first cigarette . Don’t know how old you are, I’m 45 but at least in Italy where I live newer generations smoke significantly less than what we used to do in our teens . Everybody was a smoker in early 90’s ….it seemed so cool and simple . I agree with you, companies like PM have made billions and trillions basically selling a legal and lethal drug to people .
Day 3 of being a non-smoker. I have been a smoker for 11 years. Smoked 1-2 packs every single day. I managed to quit for 4 months about 2 years ago, before I relapsed. I wish everyone, including myself, to succeed in quitting
Last time I saw this made me quit smoking for two years. I would continue to drink beer and evtl. relapse for almost four years. The two years mentioned before were great, so it's about time ... again.
After 33 years of smoking, one day last year because of pain and short breath I decided that I had bought my last pack of cigs.I did not go cold turkey but rather used horrible tasting nicotine candy and gum.I felt basically stoned out of my mind for about 3 weeks after giving up the smokes but afterwards just felt a little tried.I loved the feeling of being high without the drugs. My first cigarette felt good like a small up-lifting high but quitting was and is so much better and my mood got to be so intensely great-why would I ever go back to tobacco? The good things are just the following for me_ I do not stink of putrid cigarette smoke (hair, skin and clothes),lovely women and guys like me better.I do not burn my carpet or clothes anymore .I now know I was born without a cigarette in my mouth and the money saved is really a mark of my having saved myself. One last but important thing-quit only if you want too or feel the time is right,do not feel you must because I or someone else says so.You choose to smoke and you choose to quit. Please try to give up the bad and embrace the good. Bob
Quit 4 month ago and doing great. First time in 10 years I'm able to quit, I think this time it's different because I have a good motivation. I wanna have kids in the next few years, and I need a healthy body before getting pregnant, so my kid can have the best possible start.
Had a massive heart attack which cured me from smoking 26 years. Came home after 4 days in hospital & 1 stent, took 3 puffs of a cigarette which caused instant chest pain & I quit. My boyfriend switched to chew pouches so I do not smell cig's & that was 1 1/2 years ago. I still crave them once in a while but then I think of the massive pain I had in my chest, in my back, in my jaw & thru out both arms. No to mention my copay I still owe on is $40,000. I'm done.
im 20 and i smoke since im 11 and also dealing with a lot of drugs and alcohol, i quit for a couple of years, came back and so on for several times. This time im decided to quit at all, it sounds kind of stupid but i want to be a healthy person, i don't consider myself an adult yet, but at the time i start a family i want it to be a healthy and happy family and also i want that for me, because healthy looks like happy and to be honest im not happy at all. Just wanted to share this somewhere...

Your positive thoughts and realizations are a good start. Good luck. Being and feeling healthy is the best.

"It's gonna be a challenge now, and it's gonna be a challenge in 5 years. So why not do it now?" That's an extremely good point.
Actually, it gets more challenging, we smokers all know it, so that makes this point even stronger
But it smokes, and has no addictive chemical(maybe slightly for some, but not for me)
So what this did ,was took the idea from my mind that when I puff something, I get my nicotine fix.

Story of my life. But damn good point
Rat Man.. I hope you’re doing well.. are you still smoke free!?!?
If you could do it, I can. Been smoking since I was 14 or 15. Quitting has been on my mind for a while, but god, is it hard.
Rat Man, wow, 45 years. Sorry about the COPD. Great to hear you are improving your health now! Never look back! Keep fighting!
@@PierreAndersson85 may i ask what is copd
@@wassimkh9120 Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by long-term breathing problems and poor airflow. The main symptoms include shortness of breath and cough with sputum production. COPD is a progressive disease, meaning it typically worsens over time.

How do you deal with the cravings? Cuz sometimes it’s so bad it makes me wanna punch the wall
What does cold turkey means!?
Fourteen year quitter here, that is exactly how I quit, along with being a personal caretaker for three friends dying of smoking related illnesses.
Congrats! Fourteen year quitter here. The scary thing is that even decades after quitting, it can still get you. Talk to your doctor about how to keep an eye out for any complications( I've been tested three times for throat cancer) I was a caretaker to three friends dying of smoking related illnesses. Talk about incentive.
As a fourteen year quitter, YOU CAN DO THIS!
I've done that 3 to 4 times so far in my almost 20 years of smoking now. Not smoking for a year or two... and suddenly... boom.
I did the same thing...just decided my body does not need cigarettes and I stopped... Just quit. Mind over matter I guess😊 it has been 8 years since I quit
@@June3669 impressive 👏 it's almost two years for me currently.
@@jmitterii2 it's all to each their own choices. if you want to quit later, I hope you'll survive much longer.

I love that.
Everyone's story is inspiring me!!! I have done the hard part going from a pack a day to 5 or 6. I want to live so tomorrow I'm doing this because I hate smoking and it will be easy
Thank you, I love this!
Good luck
Wow i love this breakdown . Im now at day 5 and i must say its lightyears away from quiting weed 😅
Wonderful advice

It has been 15 years since i started smoking and i find it impossible to quit right now. There's a fight between me and my cravings, the nicotine craving is a sensation, exactly like hunger or thirst. It's a challenge not to smoke for 4 hours and i really can't quit. The solution for me: buy a boat, head into the storm, get thrown on a deserted island with no cigarettes or matches...Even then i would dry some leaves, learn how to make fire with sticks and smoke those dry leaves :)) I hate my life as a smoker.
never loose hope bro. keep trying.

Never quit quitting ! Cheers to all that are working on becoming smoke free!

It’s been 6 years since I quit smoking, watching this video really helped, thank you:)
I like these videos to remained me how bad I was
Hope you are still a non-smoker...
The 1 thing I hold onto to this day, is remembering the cravings will pass. When a craving shows up, deep breathes and think, it'll pass.
Allen Carr's way works very effectively and its very easy - ruclips.net/video/OE4i6NbLddY/видео.html
ChristiDiscipulus That is really nice of you. Thank you. I'm still smoke free. :) Yeah, I hope so. *I will.*
*****:) I guess if I send you a thumbs up everyday it would encourage you...?
ChristiDiscipulus Hihi that's pretty rad but you don't have to, but thank you still. :) I'm really sure and know this time that I won't light another or even that "just one" cigarette in the future. It's sounds cheesy but I believe I can do this. :D Thank you again for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. xxxx
***** I'll only stop when you say it's annoying :)
You sir, are a beast
quitting was the hardest thing Ive done. Felt like I went through grief and was going insane for months.
It has been six days since you have posted that comment. How are you doing? :)
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 currently 98 days without a cigarette!

Nice! It’s been 3 months and 3 weeks exactly for me so far! So we are very close in how many days smoke-free we are. Grats, dude. :)
How is it for you?
Went cold turkey 51 days ago after 20 years of smoking
and how does that work?
@mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen weed is addicting too smh they spraying all sorts of chemicals on it i been trying to quit for like 3-4 years now
@mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen addictive personality yes weak mind no. I just started at a young age so lifestyle ties into all that. Its not the same for every person, but i know plenty of dispensaries that use addictives
mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen bad advise
Def not 20 years of smoking if u cold turkeyed it.
I love how this was presented. I'm going to try again. I quit for a month and it was miserable for me, I cried like I lost a loved one. My addiction was so strong but I was told after a month it gets better so I stuck with it.
My husband smokes so they're readily available and in my sight constantly. I was having a bad day and thought, "I'll just have one, not even one just a couple drags"
Why did I think I could do that?

4:24 “No advice on sex.”
Here’s mine: if you like sex, don’t smoke.
One of the smart things our quit smoking campaigns says is: "never give up on giving up. I wish you luck

hi guys, the best results that I have had was by following the Quit Smoking Crusher (i found it on google) definately the most useful method i've followed.
YOU saved you, the video gave you start of the determination and discipline ❤️
SURF THE URGE !!! IT WORKS !
Where did you get that flu? :D
EasyWay worked for me too
👍👍 🇬🇧 ! !
I reached my one year smoke and nicotine free mark on the 17th 🤗 went cold turkey and no regrets.
By the by I’m 30
It was very scary
for me to think that I would never smoke again so I told myself this was just for 6 mos. & then re-evaluate. LOL, once I had gone through that time period, I
was so happy to be nicotine-free BUT if I hadn't been, I imagine I'd have told myself I'd be a fool to backtrack. And btw, DON'T have an occasional one at
a social event, your present level of addiction never dies down and this can set you off puffing away all over again. Believe me, I know...this happened
the first time I tried to quit.
I was able to get ride of my I'll Herpes after the holidays herbs from #Drdodoyi....
I just did it I'm 1 hour clean so far :)

Bless you
Hope you’re fine now .
After 12 years of smoking i finally did it and now I literally cannot go back to it.
Bob
@kelly heubel sorry for my late reply but you are most welcome and yes I still am off cigarettes coming up on 7 years now!
I'm done.
