Watched Push Squares katest HD2 video and it shocked me how good the image quality was. Now i know why. Every bit of footage id seen up to that point - even Sony's own trailers - we're terribly compressed. Decent capture card makes a boat load of difference!
Yep, and the relevant capture settings, bit rate and even color setting can be profound. Elgato deliver excellent hardware and very good but simple software for capture.
@@NXGamer thank you bro. I've followed you on my new twitter. Little lady is 16 months now! She's so beautiful mate. Love of my life. I hope you and family are well too man 🙏 thanks for asking 👊❤️
Can u offer me some advice on settings within OBS? I recorded my playtrrough of TLOU2 Remastered using the elgato 4k 60 pro mk.2 connected to my desktop. But when playing back the recording, everything is "hitching" and stuttery for some reason? Recorded in 1440p60fps.
I bought this card, when I am passing audio through the hdmi it is horrible and cuts out. I only bought a capture card because my cousin had one when we were younger and it was great for being able to play games and scroll with out having to alt + tab or spend money on an extra monitor and buy new arms.
why you didn't show the 4k pro just 4kx next to hd60 and you also failed to mention in your review the 4k pro can stream multiple apps at once whereas the 4k x cannot also the 4k pro can record and capture in hdr whereas the 4k x can't
Hello, do you know if having this capture card will solve problem with obs stutter. I just have one pc with RTX 4090 where i play and record and 4k tv with 120hz and vrr but my games runs at 4K 90-100fps so when i record videos on obs at 60 fps it makes video stuttering i guess because of out of sync frames, but when i cap my games to 60fps I don't have video stutter anymore... I heard its VRR problem with obs...I want smooth video at 60 fps and want to play on 120 fps. What should i do? How you manage to record 120 fps games without stutter? Thanks a lot in advance!
I am confused about some things. The 4K X is a USB 10 Gbps card, but it can capture 4K144, yet the 4K Pro is a PCI-E 20 Gbps (2.0 x4) card, but it can only capture 4K60? And the internal card is more expensive? That makes no sense. AverMedia's internal 4K 2.1 card uses a 3.0 x4 interface, which means four times more bandwidth than USB, but it can still only capture 4K60, just like their USB 10 Gbps model. I have their old USB card that uses a 5 Gbps connection and it can only do 4K30 SDR or HDR. According to the bandwidth chart you included in the video, 4K144 4:2:0 8-bit requires 21.39 Gbps, so how is the card able to capture that? Or is it using DSC for those high framerates?
no it can capture 8k 60 and downscale it to 4k @ 60 hdr and yes it can capture 4k 60 but if you want to do 4k 240hz passthrough it will capture that at 1080p @ 240hz it can also record and capture 1440p @ 120hz so you are not stuck at just 60hz capture I'd say if you want to game and record keep hdr on 4k pro would be the better option and also the 4k pro can stream multiple apps at the sametime whereas the 4k x cannot he did not mention that in his review
I agree the console record 4k at 60hz sure at a lower but rate but damn. All that hassle for a barely ntociebale difference once RUclips compresses your video. I just rally seem to miss from all these videos is the simple fact can we play at 120 4k whole Recording 4k and 60hz?
@@Poppa_Smoke_DMZ yeah but if u capture at a higher bitrate then on RUclips quality may look better than if u were capture at lower bitrate. I think Elgato could have added thunderbolt 4 and could have supported capture of 4k 120 hdr .
Great seeing this, might get one, but can’t wait for higher HDR recording
Back in the day I remember using a capture card when I had a video game website.

so, if i want to play 4k120/60 HDR and record 4K60 HDR PS5, which capture card i need to buy? i use 4k144hz monitor and plan to capture 4k60 hdr..

we wait almost 4 years for this crap, the console itself can capture 4K 60fps on HDR, think twice before throwing your money on these.
The console capture at a lower bitrate and if 120 fps vrr is on then console capture is restricted at 1080p 60 fps hdr
