Thanks, Michael. Been loving my time with the Pro. Quick shout out to Techland for a fantastic Dying Light 2 enhancement. Stunner. Hard to know which SDK/PSSR each launch game is using. Some implementations are significantly better than others.
Looking forward to getting into this next week. Got my notification from Larian that my Deluxe Edition is on the way to me and I'm hoping to get my PRO next week. Might have to hold off until 6th December if I can't get a disc drive next week though. Payday can't come soon enough. Still have my PS5 (phat) to fall upon if things don't go my way with a Disc Drive
$380 digital edition (black Friday price world wide) vs $700(more then that in most countries for some reason)is not worth it even if every demanding game was locked at 60. Add game's like this to your library and play them on your ps6 in 3 to 4 years if high frame rate is so important
It’s a shame the zen2 apu does not run over 4ghz that would get a lot of games over 60fps. Remember with the one x the jaguar cpu was clocked to 2.3ghz from 1.7ghz and amd added cache…
True. It was 1.6 GHz though, but you're right. One X's 2.3GHz boost was indeed impressive. Although I don't remember AMD adding more cache to Jaguar CPU.
NX I do enjoy your videos and knowledge. But on this the problem isn't the PS5 Or the Pro. It's the shoddy legacy engine that baldurs gate uses. There's nothing special in it graphically or CPU wise. Assassin's creed pushes more CPU and runs fantastic because it's on a better engine that's current and updated. I mean Unreal 5 although new and pushing fx is bloated and far too resource heavy. Baldurs gate needs strippjng back and massively updating. The game is a bug fest as well. Optimization is needed this gen more then Ever.
@@jonas34ptfernandes38 Alan Wake 2? I don't know man. Watch the DF video. The 4070 was 43% faster than the PS5 Pro and also had much better image quality. Even FSR was better than PSSR in this game. And even the 3070 was faster than the Pro in their testing. The RX 6800 is only 10% slower than the 4070 on average in most games...
Did you watch the video? He literally says that the limiting factor here is the CPU not the GPU. In this particular game, the game is leaning on the CPU for functions the consoles has dedicated hardware for....because this game was designed for PC the game does not use the dedicated hardware and instead uses the CPU as it would on PC which causes the console version to be heavier on console CPU than other games which are built with the console hardware in mind. This is not an excuse as much as it is an explanation of why the game doesn't perform as well.
@JackJohnson-br4qr did i say 4070 ? I didnt so dont go there, you are forgeting RT performance, Nvidia cards run laps around AMD in terms of that that is why on Alan Wake 2 a 4070 does better by a good margin than the pro
@@jonas34ptfernandes38 The RX 6800 is only 10% slower than the 4070 on average in most games... Here is your answer. And RT? Don't forget the Pro isn't a 4090. PlayStation really can't use path tracing and heavy RT. At medium RT, the 6800 is about 20% slower. So still faster than the Pro.
So far is a big disappointment. They literally charge double for the pro for 5 extra fps and most of the time worst image quality ahaha well done sony team. Hope they gonna fire finally this idiot ceo.
Don't upgrade your CPU and performance and loading is not much improved, who'd a thunk it..?! not Sony it seems..and this is why I don't touch the PS5 Pro
Missed the part where he said Larian isn’t using the hardware based decompression block? They could be getting more out of it but Larian aren’t doing everything they could be.

Look forward to your PSVR 2 findings. Especially for GT 7 now that it has received the Pro patch.
All of the ghosting is gone. Looks incredible.
I hope you do Callisto Protocol next.
“Naked pixels, just like the day they were born” 😆
Best game tech analyst on the internet. Haven't seen anyone going that deep and being that thorough.
Digital foundry in shambles at this detail
Your buff ass character looks funny as hell for some reason. I think it's because I watching over and over.

2:15 "A huge 2.2% pixel hike". I think you meant to say "2.2X". 😃
He’s on drugs
Hey can you check RE4 remake next. That is one of my favorite games really curious how it looks and run.
Thanks

Although I agree. Much of the current games are using either shoddy engines like baldurs gate or Unreal 5 with it's array of issues.

DLSS>PSSR>FSR
XeSS would be equal to PSSR if not sometimes better depending on the implementation

Yeahhh!
what memory constraints?
Let's go
Can you show this for dying light 2 ?
It is a shame of a pro mod
So the RX 6800 is actually faster than the PS5 Pro? 6:03 Does anyone still believe the 4070 story?
I mean on Alan Wake 2, GoWR, F1 24 it is doing better than a 6800xt, it depends of the game or engine

"Most of the time worse image quality" is a delusional take.
