      Listen to the modded Infiniti's with the same engine, they're heavier, sound great, and run 9's. This Z is lighter with the same engine, this will be the scariest Z with 650-750 rwhp

    Glad Nissan did this, really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Having owned a 350z back in 2003 and currently having a 2005 anniversary 350z as a weekend toy clearly I still love the Z car formula - long nose, 6 cylinders rear drive . My current daily is the very sharp handling Alpine a110 which tends to makes any Z seem very Mustang ,different tools for different jobs. Go the mighty Z and thanks for a cool review as always.

    Great review Tom. Having owned a Z car once in my life I have always watched it's development with anticipation. However, its been decades since I thought I would actually enjoy owning another. This new Z has my attention. The blue colour on your test vehicle is really nice. The good thing in Australia is you can fit small custom number plates to the front end. Its a shame to mess it up with a large ugly plate. Hopefully some day Australia will make it legal for just the rear plate. So many new vehicles, particularly EV's don't look right with the front plate. Better yet, all cars look better without the front plate.

    Interior is disappointing, the black borders on the media screen, mix-match of elec/manual seat controls and carry over parts. I get that it had to be built to a price, but the $13k premium to step into the Supra GT seems to be good value taking into account the Toyota-fettled BMW driveline and bland but functional and sophisticated if older i-drive stuff. And this is coming from someone who put down a deposit on MT Z back in Sept last year and absolutely loved driving the wheels of my 350Z back in the day with tasteful mods (HKS, Plenum spacer/Haltech/19"s). I think I'll be ordering a '23 MT Supra in the Stratosphere Blue next week.

The 370Z was not so good on the track either so it it would be very disappointing if Nissan have by now not sorted it's aged chassis. They claim to have improved it but have they?

    • @davidnguyen9409
      @davidnguyen9409 2 года назад +8

      I own a 2019 Supra, and I absolutely love it. Most who hate it don't own one/haven't driven one. Definitely not a failure for BMW, as the B58 and ZF8 combination is probably one of the greatest pairings out there at the moment and has proven itself time and time again.
      Can see why the Toyota purists might be annoyed, but it's better to have a Supra than to not have one at all!

    • @andrew22334455
      @andrew22334455 2 года назад +5

      If you were a Toyota fan, you'd appreciate the fact that the Supra exists at all. No mass market manufacturer would invest in a new sports car in this day in age, and I rather have one with a fantastic 6cyl BMW engine as opposed to nothing at all. I honestly rather the Supra than the Z, as the American reviews show that the Supra beats the Z in every single track comparison

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 2 года назад +3

      The Supra is only a failure if you believe in the romanticism of protecting the Supra lineage. Aside from that you'd struggle to find anyone who's complained about its performance. And is very easy to tune for those who want to go down that route.

    But in the end, not sure if Nissan should have bothered. Its essentially a 370Z in drag, with parts from the "bad" Infiniti Q Red Sport. Just far too much competition at that price point and just a bit lower now. Yeah, yeah I know the base model is super-cheap in the US.
