Im going to do this job in a few minutes and im using this video as my guide.....wish me luck 🤞
Finished in a little over 3 hours.
Be sure to remove the bottom of the air box. I also found it extremely helpful to have someone hold up the hood so the prop isn't in the way the whole time. It made the job less frustrating. Mine was the Mitsubishi alternator (230 amp) versus the denso 230 amp. The connectors were different so I had to remove the old one before going to O'Reilly's to get the new one because of the different connectors. I went ahead and changed the serpentine belt while I was at it. Total for belt and alternator was $313. Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.

Dealer shop quoted $1600 (!!) for this job…
Just bought new alternator on eBay for $190. I’m going back to Japanese cars after this short affair with ford.

great video! You need a new cap for your coolant reservoir. That is why your top coolant hose was collapsed!

Yeah everyone says I need a cap but haven’t lost any coolant or even come close to overheating. But guess I should replace it

You can take your front wheel off on the alternator side and pull the shielding back to expose the bottom bolt

Looks like you need a new radiator cap. It should vent in when cooling off. The hose is sucked down.

So how many bolts held the alternator in place? 2 or 3?

That’s insane. It took me about 2-3hrs taking my time. These dealerships are crazy

I am pretty sure that you need to replace your radiator cap as the upper hose is collapsed. This is a common problem. FYI.

Thanks for heads up. Car doesn’t overheat in anyway or loose coolant

Understood but it is an issue that can easily be corrected by replacing the cap. I did it to my 18 XLT

Ford. Don’t sell it separately you can find it separately and it’s just the easy screw off screw on same problem. My Mustang blew the fuse box.
