    So it’s a step by step process until the vibration is gone. The carrier drop. Usually works if the lift is not too much under 3 inches. Over that and the differential needs to be shimmed as well that’s what I’m witnessing. Thankfully I didn’t lift my truck over 3 inches so I’m hoping the carrier drop will be all I need.

    This is a great video. For me though it’s looking like the vibes are coming from the passenger side engine mount. I get a consistent frequency vibration when calmly accelerating in the 15-20 mph then goes away. Comes back 25-30 then goes away. And comes back 35-40. Doesn’t always happen. But it seems to be when the engine is at a certain rpm and the transmission shifts so it goes away. Also my mechanic bud held the brake and accelerated slowly and it was just vibrating. If I drive harder it seems to put the mount to its peak so there’s no vibration. But even when at cruising speed I feel a steady but mild rumble. I noticed you don’t have an engine mount replacement video so maybe your Taco needs new mounts? Make an engine mount replacement video would be good.

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  3 года назад +2

      You may need to do the ECGS mod. Check out that video. I'll also add the motor mount idea to my list, thanks for the suggestion.

      KFlo Tacoma I did the ECGS bushing first. The engine mounts didn’t fix the vibration. Although they definitely needed to be replaced. I’ve installed the carrier bearing spacer and next going to install 3 degree leaf wedge. This is driving me nuts. Lol

      @jerrettboehning7362 3 года назад +2

      Installed the wedges today. Still vibrating. Not planning on removing the shaft and sticking it up my @$$!!! Lol.
      So far I’ve done ECGS bushing, all u-joints and new carrier bearing, new engine mounts, lowered the carrier bearing, and installed the shims. I suppose I can take the shaft back to the shop and recheck the balance...

      Just to update you on my vibration saga. We now suspecting the harmonic balancer. The vibration is consistent with engine rpm and even in park we get a noticeable vibration at higher rpm. It seems somewhat reasonable since I replaced all idler bearings the tensioner and a new belt recently and I noticed the vibration started shortly after. Were thinking the influx of new parts presented the issue with the harmonic balancer. I’m hopeful but not 100 on this but I’ll have a 2020 2008 Tacoma when this is over at this rate. So no prob. Anyway. Another video you might do - harmonic balancer replacement. Though it doesn’t seem complicated. But your videos are a huge help and give great information especially part numbers and torque values.

      Yes, this is more specifically for lifted tacomas. Did you balance your wheels and tires? If so and you still have the vibrations, then you may have to do this mod ruclips.net/video/WJ4_7G12Esw/видео.html

    • @jerrettboehning7362
      @jerrettboehning7362 3 года назад +1

      My vibration is apparently an engine mount issue. Check yours by opening the hood and look at the top of the engine while holding the brake and revving in drive and reverse. The engine shouldn’t torque too much. Also try driving while holding the brake down enough to move forward slowly. It shouldn’t vibrate. But don’t do that much or you’ll need new brakes, lol

    Why would your driveshaft get out of balance from lifting the truck? I lifted mine 8” and just lowered the center bearing by 2.5” almost, then reversed the double cardigan where it lives right behind the rear of the center support bearing and just gotta make sure to completely fill the slip joint right by the diff full of grease otherwise itll get outta wack.. but balancing a driveshaft? Shit ive had them come loose and beat themselves to shit and i just reattached it back up and never had any vibrations….

    Question I have a 2019 Tacoma SR5 all stock. When I release the gas and I am about to switch to the brake to slow to a stop I get a vibration between 20-25 mph. I am not applying the brake so it’s not my rotors or brake pads. It is always at the same speed. I fee the vibration more when I am applying the brake but only during that speed difference. I took it back to Toyota they looked at it and even had some tech come down to the store from another location and they can not figure out what it is. They replaced the rear axle but the problem is still there. Toyota’s final answer was ever since the changed the body or Tran the Tacoma’s back in 2016 or so they have had this issue. So have you heard of this? Or know of a fix? Thanks for the help been asking a lot folks no fix yet.

      KFlo's Tacoma Build I asked everything that I could look up and ask my friend mechanics. When I turned in the key for them to check they gave me a rental and it was same year but the TRD model and it did the same thing. I have found some online comments about this issue but no fix. Just thought maybe if you heard of it or know someone. Thanks though. It’s just annoying. I dint think it’s causing any damage. One thing I forgot to mention is if for any reason I have to slam on the brakes the vibration increases between those speeds. But stop before the complete stop.

    Makes absolutely no difference if you have a solid driveshaft or two piece driveshaft. I swapped my factory driveshaft out for a solid one and it still vibrates. You have to shim the rear axle so that the rear differential is not at an angle
