I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, which had a vibration when I reached 30 mph. I just changed one U joint and the problem was fixed for awhile, then it started vibrating again. I recommend changing all U joints and the carrier bearing. The problem is fixed and the truck is like new. I'm in love with my truck again.
The worst part is that in the beginning I took it to the Toyota Dealership Service Center and I told them I thought it was the U Joints and they totally discredit me and quickly said I needed a new transmission. Sad times. I felt it wasn't the transmission, rather the suspension. But I went ahead and changed the U joints and Carrier Bearing and problem fixed. Thanks for the helpful Video.

I knew it before you started the video… I’ve had vibration issues from my 2021 since lifting it. Toyota actually did the lift and said there was no vibration. After months of this issue I put in a straight shaft. Bingo issue solved.

Not a tacoma, but been trying to track down a vibration at 65-70 and above. Re-adjust the wheel bearings which did fix one issue. Alignment will most like have to be done as well, but I do know this, when I got my chevy over 4 years ago, I do know that the original owner got the trans built by a shady shop. My trans guy found trans parts from other trans, missing parts, and it just wasnt built to last very long. I got that trans built about 2 years ago. Knowing that the shady shop didn't properly buid the trans for that original owner, I am wondering if I might have an unbalanced driveshaft and/or the u-joint may be failing. Just looking at it, they look fine, but going to raise the vehicle and check for play when I have a chance. Just going to check it to rule out possible cause.

I have a 2003 Tacoma Prerunner with over 180,000 miles on it and all stock. I periodically check for wear on the split driveshaft and U joints. I've seen what can happen when U joints fail, especially on vehicles that have crazy lift kits.

I don't hear any noises from under the truck when shifting from park to neutral to drive.

PLEASE HELP!!! SOMEBODY!!! ANYBODY!!! I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 BASE MODEL/SHORT CAB, with "SPLIT DRIVE SHAFT" exactly like the one pictured in this video. ( even though the truck in this video is a 1999 ) If you look carefully at this video, right during the 2:23 time stamp, you will get a quick glimpse of the entire drive shaft assembly ( from rear of the truck looking forward ), and notice that it does NOT have "2 separate drive shafts of near equal length, with a carrier bearing ( aka "center support bearing" ) that bolts to a cross member/frame, like most do. The truck in this video has the same drive shaft assembly as mine does. It has 1 LONG drive shaft, but right up near the rear of the transmission, it has 2 U-JOINTS that connect one right after the other via a VERY short "knuckle". ( My truck is a 2.7 liter 3RZFE with automatic transmission. ) MY UNUSUAL "SPLIT DRIVE SHAFT" ( the more common type is "a 2 PIECE drive shaft" ) TAKES A VERY SMALL & UNIQUE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING THAT I CAN'T FIND ANYWHERE!!! This much smaller, unique center support bearing fits completely INSIDE the unit. Perhaps this unique part isn't even called "a center support bearing". But I know it has something like that......and it's located right up there among those 2 FRONT U-JOINTS that are very close together, being attached to the "knuckle" that is between them. PLEASE HELP......AND THANKS IN ADVANCE. ( ALL of the parts stores in my area keep trying to sell me that huge center support bearing that is common in most 2 PIECE drive shafts. It is NOT the correct part, even when they use their computers to cross-reference my VIN number! My truck doesn't even have a cross member/frame support to mount such a large center support bearing. )

They drive under the speed limit, merge without signaling, ride my ass and not leaving proper room as they follow me from behind.
All I can come up with is that a lot of morons like to drive Toyotas? are Toyotas the top choice of stupid people?
