I've got a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and I had the exact same problem. I took it to Gateway Tire & Service Center and they replaced the Rear U-Joint and it eliminated all the vibration. Boom! Easy Fix.

I have had a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 and a 2005 Toyota Tundra 4x4. Never had a single vibration out of either of them in 300,000 miles combined between both. Now, that said... if you experience a vibration, do not panic. Tacomas and Tundras both have "driveshaft carrier bearing" that tends to fail around 120k to 175k. There are plenty of videos on RUclips on how to replace them, its not hard. I highly suggest you buy a Timkin brand or Toyota factory brand. Timkin is about $75. Make sure you purchase a new nut as well, as they are suppose to be replaced. Use the old nut to torque the bearing down to 135 ft lbs, then take it off, and replace with a new nut to 55 ft lbs. Make sure you "stake" it as well. If this does not fix your vibration, replace the U-joints at both ends of the driveshaft. Use only spicer U-joints (thats the factory brand Toyota uses). If those don't fix the vibration, then search on RUclips "bleepin jeep double cardan". There is a video to guide you on how to replace the two U-joints and center ball on the double cardan on the driveshaft. This is the hardest part to do, which is why I said eliminate the others first as possible problems. Some may prefer taking it to a driveshaft shop to have this done if you don't have much experience working on vehicles. But it can be done by someone who has worked on vehicles before. These issues are FAR more likely to cause vibrations in your truck than what this guy is talking about. Ive been working on Toyota's for 12 years. I never felt vibration on my Toyota Tacoma 2005 V6 until recently at 180,000 miles. Recently had the leaf springs that were recalled replaced. It’s a low hum vibration at 40 mph and higher.
Yever think it may just be you? And if its just a vibration and not breaking other stuff all the time then no big deal.. i just fix everything myself and at most will spend maybe 400$ if its something major.. otherwise its all just 100$ parts and a little work.. beef it up too.. put a helper spring, ladder links some leaf brackets..
I have the same problem. Brand new Toyota Tacoma sr5 2023. Vibration and rear shake at highway speeds!!! Toyota also can’t fix my truck . Still under warranty. Been to two separate Toyota dealerships. They to tell me it’s a characteristic of the truck. Bullshit lame excuse. We need a class action lawsuit. Any lawyers out there want to take this on??? Please reach out to me. This is not acceptable
My 06 tundra 4.0 shuddered at 30 mph. Toyota couldn’t find the problem so they put a refurbished transmission in it then this one started shuddering at 40. Went through 3 carrier bearings all new u joints,2 transmissions and still shuddering. ??????
@@davidgregory4475 you should have replaced the driveshaft carrier bearing, if that didn't fix it, then the outer most u-joints on each end, if that doesn't fix it and its a two piece driveshaft, have a shop that specializes in driveshafts replace the "double cardan" (the two center U-joints on a two piece driveshaft) and then have it balanced as well. Even Toyota dealerships don't hardly know how to or want to work on a double cardan. Usually 99% of the time, one of those I listed above will fix the vibration issues.

Thanks, @@WMAT77LL I got it fixed. It is a 4 cyl. 2 wheel drive. I had the front passenger side wheel bearing replaced. It rides pretty good now....I can feel the driver side wheel bearing is worn now, just not that bad.
You could add airbags to the rear springs and it would stiffen up the suspension. I added them to my Tacoma to adjust the height when pulling a trailer, so I know it works. If the problem is as you describe that could help.
And the Tundras. Its the split shaft design and the angles of it. Has to be angled correctly. If not the wheel speed is different than the transmission gesr speed
