Casio is the icon of digital watch brands, so if you want to get the classic, original retro look, this is the way to go. See my initial reactions to this icon of watch history in stainless steel (full ref. A700WE-1AEF)l in my first ever unboxing video!

NOTE: The case is made of a steel coloured resin unlike the bracelet and case back which are real stainless steel. When I opened the watch I hadn't realised but it's important to know. It doesn't however detract from the style or quality of the watch.
CASIO RETRO A1000M-1BEF. All stainless steel case.
I also have a Casio A700 and I love it.
The edges are finely crafted, the bracelet is great (true only folded links).
All in all: the character of the watch is lovable.
Resin or hard plastic?
Yes it does
I bought the same watch but with the stainless steel mesh version. It was advertised as a unisex watch and it looks great on my 8' wrist. Cost me all of 44 dollars, what a deal. They do have the watch with an all steel case but that puppy goes for around 100 bucks, still a great deal. I also bought a cheapo Casio for ten bucks with a 7 year battery, I just couldn't resist.

Ive A SMALL vintage casio COLLECTION COMPARED TO YOU DIE HARD FANS and by a long shot this actual A700 variant i have and wow it is my fav that and me DBC611.. JUST WISHED THEYD BRING BACK THE CHROME VERSION DBC611 as ive got the matt finish later variant...
I think the strap from f91 looks great here on this watch.

It came in a fancy "Casio Vintage since 1974" Box, pretty cool!

wa amazing watch for the price and i love this strap looks beautiful , just i prefere the other version of A700 the all gray one but i dont like the strap of it

is this watch easy going with hairy arms? doe it hurt?
It does pull arm hair, that's mentioned in many of the reviews for this watch

I think the closest thing on a different strap I know of is this: amzn.to/2PoBpJ6 Like my one, Amazon says it's a women's watch ... it isn't. Alternatively you can swap out the strap on the model I have, it's a standard spring bar. What kind of strap are you looking for?

@@jamieglasse7628 yup, that's the one. It doesn't seem to have much availability in the US, and the price is twice as much -- probably because of this! I was under the impression the first link was integrated into the case... Though looking again, it might have been a different Casio. Do you happen to know the lug width? ::Edit:: Amazon says it's one of those oddball 21mm bands, sigh.
Liked the video but some things that could improve it would be to stop the "ehm"s and I would like to see a bit more wristshots from different perspectives/ light situations.

I think if you're worried about pulling wrist hair it might be worth looking at the mesh bracelet. 👍
