I got my kid a Casio gmas2000. It’s pretty cool. It has analog and digital displays. You set the time via the digital lcd display and then it automatically moves the analog hands to the correct time. Same with the day. It’s got an analog day pointer, but you set it via the digital display. It’s got an alarm, stop watch, and GMT features as well. And a light. Pretty neat watch that will hopefully give him an appreciation for horology.
@@spaceteapot I was able to spend time w/ a friend's Casio - it was a Europe only release - actually had a metal case. It is a Casio A1000D-73. I think they are tough to find, if I remember correctly there wasn't much when I was grabbing more info on it. - I discussed the watch in my 3 Casio price points video. ruclips.net/video/hNYdap9uLSs/видео.html
@@KillingTimeWithNorman ahh thanks for that, the A1000 looks killer as well. Its available in north america (at least in Canada) but its almost 4x the price; For a second I got my hopes up for a metal case version of the A700.
Great video, Norman. I have a lot of Casio watches on my list and looks like this one will be a birthday present from my son to me. I have to let him know. 😂
I recently sold mine & kept the A1000 white dial, quite similar but I preferred the metal case on the A1000, both great watches though. The mesh from the A700 will fit on the A1000 but it suits the shinier A700 better. I've just realised I've got a new tank watch coming in that is on an 18mm mesh, it might fit on the A1000 & I've already bought green suede for the tank, hmmmm. Fun times ahead.
thoughts about the 3 year battery life? Cuz I personally wish that it was longer especially with it being a digital watch and all... maybe it's thin body has something to do with it
I have A500we (module 3437) and A700w, case AND DISPLAY color gold. Beautifull, super cool. F91w module 587 /593 holder battery cr 2016. A700w module 3472 holder battery cr 1616. F91w symbol in display "LAP". A700w symbol in display "SPL". 🔎
Where'd you purchase this one from? Its a made in Thailand piece. I've been looking for one of these or made in Japan one but every piece I find are made in China pieces. I even bought one and it was a made in China piece and I sent it back as the strap had issues. They're not fake as Casio mass produces their watches from China aswell with high QC. But i'd rather have one of these or the japanese made ones. Almost all the other youtube reviews of this watch are also made in China pieces if you observe closely the back of the watch.
Oh man, I'll have to scour my emails. I'll let you know. I had to hunt for it for sure. I actually didn't even notice Made in Thailand! Thanks for the info on that! Hopefully I can find where I got mine to help you out. Good luck hunting!
I actually found it on the Zumiez website hehe. Sadly I don't see it there anymore. It was hard to find w/ the milanese, that's partly why I pulled the trigger when I did.
I, too, have seen Ben's channel and purchased one . I have also seen there are fakes out there! There are a number on Ebay, usually sold without the box, Amazing that they put so much effort into faking these Casios?
The range of adjustment on the mesh bracelet is huge, so you would be fine, for sure. I'm not familiar with the amount of resizing you can do on the other bracelets these ship on though :/

I love how the hands do that! I had a GShock that did it.
Very nice piece, I've been looking at the new all metal variants. You can never go wrong with a Casio.
Yes! Casios are just fun and cool!
There's all metal variants now?
think you can provide the sku?

That little watch is very expensive, it looks nice.. But I bought the SKMEI 1123 in stead, and put it on a NATO..Looks great too, and works well.
Yeah, definitely on the spendy side :/
You're right. This one is really nice.
:) Yeah! Even better than I suspected it would be.
Yes Norman!!
:) The A700 is UHmazing!

Finding the mesh bracelet variant may be tough, but I think the standard bracelet ones are readily available... I believe.
I wear both my Steinhart & my Timex Marlin on Milanese mesh. I do love a Milanese mesh on watches, it really lifts the dynamic feel.😎
Aand - soo easy to really dial it in to the size you want! I haven't tried my Marlins on Milanese yet... I may have to!

Yeah, longer life would be cool. I'll have to look at how easy it is to change batteries in these.
Hi fabulous watch there's one that's mineral crystal A700WM and there's one acrylic crystal A700WEM both with the Milanese bracelet.
Hmm I'll have to dig through my emails, see which one I own :)

Yeah that is pretty crazy
does anybody know if the wristband on this model can be replaced with a standard metal-link one? i love the watch, but not the band.
You can buy them with the standard bracelet, those are actually easier to find
And I got the Casio W217HM-7BVEF...Discount price €23,- :)
My wrist is about 15cm long. Will I be able to use it properly?

Does the band fit? Most of these Asian watches do not fit on a normal 9 inch wrist, average Dutch..
This strap/bracelet is pretty long. I have a 7" wrist, and the car that the clasp attaches to is about halfway down the strap.
I blame the reason why I got mine on Ben as well.
lol - Yeah he sells them well!

do all the watches (A700w) comes in that box?
I BELIEVE they do - but I'm not 100% on that. I'll have to see if I can confirm...
@@KillingTimeWithNorman that would be great, I’m planning to get one. But the box that came with it, it just a normal white box :)
