- In this Casio A700WEV unboxing video, I take a first exclusive look at what is surely the best looking digital watch ever made. This special version of the Casio A700, or A700w as it's sometimes known, has a restrained, minimalist appearance, with all the same features. It looks glorious. What a stroke of genius by Casio! They've created(in my view) 2 instant classics by the simplest of clean up jobs on the face of the A700. I love the original "busy" face, because it completes the retro/vintage look I'm after.
Having said that, these 2 new beauties have their own clean, sleek and minimalistic look going on, without losing the retro vibes.They also look dressier, which is cool. Of course, now I want both looks...Oh Casio, what evil geniuses you lot are!😅😂
Wow! these new watches are a minimalist beauty. Classy, unpretentious, modestly sophisticated in a simple, tasteful and eloquent form and function. Perfect.

For me, these are my favorite integrated bracelet style watches. They are so well made, plus, I wouldn't be afraid of using them as sports watches.

@@Unlucky1776 I dont mind paying 50$ more for steel case. I hve the a1000, it is so good quality, even inside. the a1000 is a bargain, i wearit much more than my 1000+$ swiss watches. it has the genta style integrated bracelet kind of vibe. Ultra thin and the Beep with the steel is loud

I was pretty much ready to buy the previous model (gray dial, milanese bracelet) but this definitely has me reconsidering. It looks so clean it almost loses the vintage charm in favour of timeless purity.

I've got one with a negative display and I love it.
For me,the old 1 still looks good and the new 1 design looks clean like the A1000 but both either old or new looks good

I really like that some of these companies are doing the minimum boxes that are recycled or can be recycled. With casio selling god know how many watches per year this is a good step to recycle

Very pretty, especially the gold, but not for me. Part of my childhood fascination with digital watches in the mid-eighties came from the labels of the buttons. It's not the same without it. Less "futuristic" so to speak.
how many tunes it has? (that was the main selling point when those watches were introduced in the late 1980's, early 1990s)

I own the (old) A700 and indeed I like the minimalist looks of the new one better. Unfortunately my A700 doesn't get any wrist time due to its size. On my 18cm wrist it looks like a children's watch. I wished they made the new one slightly bigger. But hey, a good option for the smaller wristed guys.

As a b640, A168 and A700 owner and since Casio being my favourite brand i can be biased. but I'm not really into the less text on the bezels. If i want that i buy an MTP watch, which i have already
They do look good, but I've just never been a fan of just how toyish those plastic cases feel. I got a steel A1000MA-7EF and slapped it on an A158 bracelet - that's my ultimate digital Casio.
Of all the "traditional" Casio retro LCDs, I still think the A168 is the best looking. I'm not counting the World Time or the calculator watch, which are pretty different things in their own right. The cool thing however is that Casio and Armitron are still making genuinely cool, well-made, desirable watches way under $50 for those of us collectors who will never own a Tudor or Tag Heuer in this lifetime.
Still think the a168aw remains unbeatable in the Casio vintage line. I wear mine regularly casually and with suit and tie attire for my Monday to Friday office work. Get a lot of compliments too.
I also bought a second one that is boxed and unworn as a backup or if it gets discontinued.

I have a difficult relationship with Casio watches. I don't understand why their offer of digital watches with cases made of steel is so modest and a bit expensive compared to their other analog watches from other series, e.g. edifice, where this case material is standard. I will also mention the recently released mdv 10d model, where we literally pay the same for a smaller and worse watch compared to the original mdv 107. This could be amazing watch if case was made from steel.
Love these, but I'll have to pass. I appreciate that you mentioned how small the watch was, because as much as I love the design, I'm 5'7" and 240 lbs, so I feel like this won't look right on my wrist

If it's not made with MIPS technology it simply isn't, so CASIO get all your modules over to MIPS and just make a bog standard MIPS 5610 model, you will sell millions👍
