It arrived!! As promised, see my initial reactions to the iconic, retro Casio A700WEG-9AEF in gold! Casio is the icon of digital watch brands, so if you want to get the classic, original 80s style, this is the way to go.
A true unisex classic (no matter what Amazon says), that will compliment and wrist.

Just returned from the store. I have chosen the gold one! It’s much more funky, disco and the golden background under the digits seems to catch (and reflect) more light, making them more contrast.
Gold. If I am going retro digital, might as well go all the way. :)

Great video, thank you. I have a Casio calculator watch in the same gold tone with a similar bracelet. I wouldn’t mind this but with the Milanese strap.

Hi loved the video. As of today the gold retails at £38.16 and the silver at £28.16 on Amazon. So only a £10 difference which is not bad.
Can we do tight straps according our hand thickness ? Can we move lock what I want to know? And what about scratches?

Hi Jamie, thanks for the great video, I’m a new subscriber. I’m thinking of getting the silver stainless steel - is the strap easy to adjust? Are the links removable or does it have a different mechanism?
Thanks Ben! Really glad you found it useful. The Strap is pretty easy to adjust. There's a slider to adjust the size rather than adding or removing links. It has a little catch which you lift and just slide it along the bracelet and reset the catch. The only issue I've found is that the catch is very stiff to pull up, so I did it with a tiny screwdriver for leverage. Any other questions let me know.

Battery lasts 10 years for casio retro watches
Yes, There are however, many variables that can affect battery life. Some models have larger batteries, some have lithium, some have the very tiny batteries. If people are using the alarm daily, the repeated beeps of the buttons making noise will affect the battery. I’d say 10 years is one that never gets used other than the normal time, and has the larger battery, lithium or not. If I’m not mistaken, lithium can go nearly 15 years on these. Other small battery variants with heavy usage may only see 3 years tops. Also factor in the climate. Warmer climates will see shorter life than colder. Pretty interesting.

lookiing for the A700 in the US, either gold or silver- with the mesh band- Great work by casio- for folks who like Casio, but avoid them for how thick they are- Too much to ask if it has a scratch resistant glass?
It would definitely look sexy on mesh. Love to hear if you find one.

Are you sure it's steel? Maybe the bracelet, those cases are usually resin.

Hi Sheila! both are great options. I kept the Steel myself. It really depends on what your husband's personal style is. I wear a lot of black and have a white gold signet ring so the colouring of the silver worked better for me, so perhaps think about what would suit him best. I'm sure he'll be thrilled either way. If you want any other advice don't hesitate to ask.

That one its acrually for woman,but it is unisex I think 🤔
Amazon lists it as 'for women', but I looked it up in other places (including Casio websites) and they list it as unisex.
