The MQ-28 Ghostbat is an Aussie development. The idea is for these things to protect tankers and AWACS etc, also be sensors, they won't need to be directed during flight. They take off the same as you and they fly with you. They are set up prior to the mission with the right sensors or weapons, then they fly with you. When you direct them to do something, like strike a target, attack an enemy aircraft etc you just tell them to do it, and then leave them to do it. These are aircraft the size of a Reaper or a bit larger. They aren't launched from another aircraft. Manned aircraft are the quarterbacks. These are force multipliers, they aren't disposable, but they are cheaper than losing an F-35 or the pilot.

The c-130 recovery system was called the FULTON recovery system. The pilot in the ground awaiting recovery would put up a helium filled balloon and the 130 would come in and catch the balloon and the downed pilot and winch him up into the cargo bay. Look that up. Interesting system to recover aircrew at speed.

This was the first time my dog (An Hungarian Shepherd) was scared from hard explosions, these aren't firecrackers anymore, they are more like thunderflashes that we used in the military, to train new recruits. I don't mind about fireworks, because my dog knows what it is, from early on, I let him see what was going on, and be close to him, and he got confident with it. But now he panicked. I trained him with an alarm pistol, so he knows this. But now we could be feeling the bursts. Unbelievable. And big riots in some places between young peeps and the Police. Where my friend live, it was like a war zone. About 500 people got arrested on the spot, for different felonies. The world is gone crazy.

Oh, man. Same thing with me on the sickness. Last Tuesday, I started feeling sick and by Saturday I had a fever, wheezing and a flutter in my chest when I breathed in. Yesterday the fever broke but I feel like I was hit by a truck with the sore ribs from coughing so much and so hard.
China visits California, and the bronchitis and severe cold that's hitting China is now flooding the U.S..

The Loyal Wingman is something I had thought of for a story that was floating around in my head back in 1991. I have this story where our government in the future becomes tyrannical and uses a.i. robots as a force multiplier. A platoon leader with the platoon being A.I. taking orders from the PL. A similar setup with all branches.
The idea was that so many had left the military due to a purge of those who wouldn't align with the tyrannical government's views.
This led to a civil war and the force multiplier was created to counter those soldiers who joined the resistance/opposition. Accusations that the sitting government was fixing the elections (like all communist governments) leads to a "transparent" election but an assassination happens to the communist leader because he's seen as weak and his VP runs in his place counting on a sympathy vote. In an attempt to solidify the win, they frame the opposition and the security detail at the debate where the assassination takes place.
It's a sci-fi, fugitive, conspiracy type story with some twists. I should have been more focused back then and hammered that story out. I was starting on storyboards to go with the script.
The stupidity of youth thinking we have forever to make things happen.

I'm not sure if they're plugging in info into the computers but the ANG near me that flies KC-46s do VFR touch and go pattern work all the time. I've seen them do very tight finals as well where they finish their turn to final in about a half mile from the threshold.
Low threat heavy lift for Osprey users is definitely gonna be the CH-53K. It's very slightly faster than Chinook, and has a much higher lift capacity.
That particular DARPA project is quite interesting, anyway.

Speaking of True Lies, you cannot fire the gun in a Harrier while hovering. The bleed air that for the RCS is the same bleed air that pressurizes the gun. There's a valve that cuts the gun off while hovering.
They have lasers on trucks now and carriers are large enough for trucks and they are nuclear powered. I'm really surprised they are not on all carriers by now.
Raytheon has already field tested several types of directed energy weapons. Also the Boeing YAL-1.

It’s a lot more nuanced than that. The west didn’t give Iran its fucked up ideology. The west didn’t put Shia and Sunni against each other. That’s always been a thing. And will continue to do so.
