Absolutely a learned behavior. Whether it was from friends or social media or from home. It still falls on the parent who allowed that influence into her daughter’s life. She is 13 yrs old. Absolutely is the parents fault.
Unfortunately, there are way too many kids that act like this now a days. 2 parents are good, but 1 will work just fine if they're responsible and work on having a good relationship with their child. Same goes for 2 parents.
The mother is a disgrace. She doesn't care that her daughter took alcohol into school, she's more concerned that the school and police didn't allow her daughter to get away with it.

@@Saleigh with a mother like hers, I highly doubt there will be any change for the good. She is 13 years old, drunk at school and facing her first felony charge. Where do you think her life and future will lead when the felony charges start to pile up? She won’t be able to get state licensing to do anything productive with her future or earn a decent living thus the blaming and not taking responsibility will continue until the gavel comes down and she goes away on state paid holiday. We can hope all we want, but it’s a very sad state of affairs that a lot of young people make early on due to enablers who have been guilted into allowing them to behave this way. She should have been sent to a mental hospital to start getting help, not released to a codependent “mother”.
"My daughter has never given me any problems." That's because you and your daughter are the problem. It's pretty evident where the daughter gets the entitled attitude from
The mom is a prime example why the daughter acts the way she does. It’s only going to get worse as she gets older and it will be everyone else’s fault.
If I did what she did at her age, the cops would have to take me away for my own protection from my parents. The enablement this girl gets from her own mother is exactly why she acts this way.
the cops would have dropped me off at home and quickly drove away, never looking back- at 50 something I get worried just thinking about what would have happen to me.
So your parents abused you and some how that's bragging rights. You know parents can parent without abuse and just by using their words. The ones who abuse are weak minded and lack communicational skills.
These parents are the issue. They've never taught their kids respect for authority, never had to deal with repercussions for their actions, they allow them to do whatever they want, cry to get their way and excuse any and all behavior as someone elses fault. Then they become preteens and teens anr act like this. The mama wants to say, oh not my baby! 😂😂 bet anything theres no stable, involved father around
100%. That girl is the way she is because she learned it from her mother. We saw it when the mom first arrived at the school. I wouldn't be surprised if SHE had been drinking. She was belligerent, loud and kept repeating the same questions as thought they hadn't already been asked. I felt for both of those cops.
If she's this much of a punk at 13, imagine at 18. She'll find out there's always somebody bigger and meaner that will put her in her place. Mom is definitely the problem.
Obviously a kid who has been told how wonderful she is and how she doesn't have to listen to anyone if she doesn't want to. Just another waste of space.
I'm betting the mom gets the same treatment from her daughter, "shut up" "you're retarded", "fa**ot" in Spanish "..or whu". She lost control of her at some point. The older one who came with the mom at first didn't appear to have a better attitude. If something doesn't change soon somehow, that girl is lost. And ultimately it won't be good for her, either.
When she called and wasn't told to watch her language or to calm down, I knew it was a parental issue. Then the mother showed up and proved us all correct.
The fact that the daughter chose to call the mother says it all. I would have BEGGED the school NOT to inform my mother if I'd ever been in that position.
If I acted like this with teachers, let alone police, my parents and grandparents would have made me beg the police to arrest me with a life sentence. They'd have beat my ass black and blue.
@@bekindtoanimals2189 I was picking up extreme hostility in the eyes of the other woman. The only reason she wasn't acting crazy is because she's been raised to know she can't out-crazy her mother. They're all horrible people.
No wonder, society as a whole is going downhill... imagine this brats behavior in 2-3 years. Beware every man who tries to get in contact with her, they are with one foot in prison only looking at her!
@@TheFishingNomad I get that you can't put all the blame on the parents but the mom in this scenario isn't taking any responsibility for her underage daughters actions.
Yes, and the expectations for kids in school can be so low as well. The teachers or school staff were engaging with this girl while her behavior is completely absurd. They were arguing with her...no, that behavior doesn't get attention as educators. I used to work as a behavioral specialist, and was with behaviorally and emotionally troubled children to put it nicely. Reinforce appropriate behavior, and do not reinforce the inappropriate. I would not have put energy into engaging with a drunk 13 year old. Simple commands and consequences and until she can speak with respect and treat people as humans she gets ignored. That goes for the mother too.
All correct what you said. Treating her as a adult diminishes all of the adults power to regulate laws, how people treat each other, allowing those that want to learn, learn
I love how the mom says in one breath “she can be very belligerent” and then pretend like her daughter never acts like this at home. Lady, you created a monster.
The mother didn't really act like a model citizen. Perhaps that's where the origin of the problem lies. Speculation: substance abuse and following dysfunctional parenting. A 13 year old drinking in school, that's is beyond teens being stupid.
Yeah, I usually tell people to give the parents a little bit of slack, the whole "nature vs. nurture" thing, but if your *13 year old* daughter is showing up drunk to school, that seems pretty indicative of a MAJOR abdication of parental responsibilities.
Schools don't expel children for these violations anymore? I graduated in 2005, not too long ago, but things like this were considered zero-tolerance and would've been automatic expulsion...but as I went to a black school, maybe it's different, lol.
My parents wouldn’t support this behaviour. If I did this at that age I would be in poverty and have nobody. Hopefully this child can learn not to be such a rude disrespectful disruptive person
My dad would have asked the officer to add two weeks to my jail stay, just to teach me a lesson. God, I hated it back then, but it made me the man i am now. Love you, dad.
I mean, if we’re going like that, you could just as easily say her mother’s mother is the problem. And her mother. And hers. Everyone is shaped by their surroundings and the way their parents raise them.
be careful about passing judgement so quickly. mom arrived to pick up daughter thinking ok kid's having a bad day. she was completely blindsided with information that she's in the other room in police custody. that's heavy news for any parent and not easy to process. later when the other officer came out and talked to her, she had time to process things at least a little bit, but the details still threw her off balance. especially if this is her youngest, her baby, and none of this had ever happened before with miss 13 or older siblings, the response you see in this video is knee-jerk, not rational after fully digesting the facts. i noticed mother referred to herself as "custodian" so i doubt the reality of home is 2 biological parents with a healthy marriage. take a child with emotional problems that are likely undiagnosed, add some chemical instability beyond typical pubertal changes, put that child in a less than ideal home situation, and a school setting where staff/faculty fail to connect with her no matter how much compassion they have (it's there and apparent to me whether anyone else sees it or not), even if she has real friends not many her age are equipped to recognize a problem when they see it and know how to help her through it. miss 13 very likely feels isolated and hopeless without awareness of how she or anyone else can help her deal with the shit kids have to deal with today on top of her probable mental issues. perfect mom? none are. every parent makes mistakes. mom not doing her best? idk. go interview the family and observe how mom does her momming, THEN pass judgement. edit: then there was the mom's complaint to the pd. mom's complaint is very clearly misinformed, manipulated by miss 13's version of events. no parent wants to admit that their child has problems. every parent wants to believe their child's version of things. this mom is in denial, and yes, that is a problem. i hope she sees this video and realizes the severity of her daughter's problems.
Loved it when mom asked how her daughter got her alcohol & officer responded “Well, I don’t live w/her at home, so YOU tell me…” He made a major point that completely flew over her head.

Mom doesn’t care anything whatsoever about being a mother. She is the poster child for the new liberal ideological egg donor who attempts to retain eternal youth vicariously through her daughter. She will claim to everyone that she and her daughter are like sisters and are “besties”. Absolute guarantee that mom is a perpetual “victim” and has taught her daughter that there are no consequences for her behavior (clearly). She is a disgrace and her daughter will never develop ANY worth other than the attention she gets from men. She’s raising the next generation of prostitution. Mom should be charged with child neglect. The daughter will ABSOLUTELY be pregnant and on every social service available by 15. Taxpayers are definitely supporting this whole dumpster fire.
Why didn't they take the 13 yo to the hospital and then to a rehap and then fostercare? That mother needed to be charged with neglect as well! The cops were too lighthearted, bless them.
As well as the law, she only got battery charges? That’s insane given her behavior. Her mother has a twisted view of love if she thinks she’s getting a future with that behavior and does nothing about, but rather encourages it. She’ll have no problem doing it again, this girl needs jail times and probation. Here in the state of Kansas you can get your drivers licenses suspended before you can even get a license if caught drinking under age. No driving under the influence needed.
agree and the fact that she called the pd to file on the officer is shameful. I think the mother needs to be brought in and made to watch the video of her daughter and explain how her daughter is such a good daughter can act like that. The fact that she also allowed her daughter to get on the phone and run her mouth off. I guess that says a lot on how she sees her daughter and having her see the bodycam footage would do nothing and most likely would not see the truth any way
The fact that the mother basically defended her daughters actions from bringing alcohol to school to the fighting and total lack of respect or decency is infuriating. The prevalence of this kind of attitude and behavior from kids and parents is why our society is in a spiral. Zero respect for this type of trash

Government is definitely a problem, especially in this case. She’s on probation and they release her to her mom. This mom came there with a cousin and in any culture that means you’re ready to fight. This 13 year old has way too much say in everything at home otherwise she wouldn’t have been pulling away from her mom when they were leaving the school.
At 4:55, the officer charged at the 13 year old girl without warning and threw her to the ground while slamming her head to the ground twice with his left hand. Shouldn't the officer have first told her to turn around and put her hands behind her back, and if she refused, then use some minor force without the head slams? This seems punitive and excessive. It’s not the officer's responsibility to administer punishment. In fact, I believe this could be a violation of the law. The officer’s physical actions were inappropriate, unnecessary, and exceedingly worse than the girl's bad behavior. I understand that the girl was drinking at school and was annoying. The officer's role should be limited to arresting her and allowing the justice system to determine judgment and punishment. It appears to me that the officer misrepresented the take down to his supervisor at 16:00. This leads me to believe that the officer knew that what he did was wrong. I hope that other officers in the department also disapprove of his bad behavior.
This is exactly what I was thinking. The girl and her mother are definitely no saints but he did use excessive force when he lunged at her like that. She would have struggled either way, but then it would've constituted a resisting arrest charge, which sounds more appropriate than the force he used instead.
I guarantee this arrest will NOT change the trajectory of this teen’s life choices and she’ll end up in prison, because the mother clearly has never set boundaries for her daughter’s actions.
Not defending the kid but the officer was wrong to initially take her down like that. They're lying when they said that she was lunging at the principle and was a threat. She was just cussing at people but not physically a threat to anyone.

Absolutely a learned behavior. Whether it was from friends or social media or from home. It still falls on the parent who allowed that influence into her daughter’s life. She is 13 yrs old. Absolutely is the parents fault.
The fact that mom is "definitely going to fight this" before she even knows what happened says EVERYTHING
Unfortunately, there are way too many kids that act like this now a days. 2 parents are good, but 1 will work just fine if they're responsible and work on having a good relationship with their child.
Same goes for 2 parents.
Serious enabling! Disgusting!
The mother is a disgrace. She doesn't care that her daughter took alcohol into school, she's more concerned that the school and police didn't allow her daughter to get away with it.
No kid was born like this. 20 seconds listening to her mom explains a lot of things.

Her mother is an enabler and the root of the problem. This is not a 13 year old little girl trying to behave in school, this is a future inmate.

Then the mom tries to file a lawsuit

Yes, and the expectations for kids in school can be so low as well. The teachers or school staff were engaging with this girl while her behavior is completely absurd. They were arguing with her...no, that behavior doesn't get attention as educators. Schools don't expel children for these violations anymore? I graduated in 2005, not too long ago, but things like this were considered zero-tolerance and would've been automatic expulsion...but as I went to a black school, maybe it's different, lol.

be careful about passing judgement so quickly. mom arrived to pick up daughter thinking ok kid's having a bad day. she was completely blindsided with information that she's in the other room in police custody. that's heavy news for any parent and not easy to process. later when the other officer came out and talked to her, she had time to process things at least a little bit, but the details still threw her off balance. especially if this is her youngest, her baby, and none of this had ever happened before with miss 13 or older siblings, the response you see in this video is knee-jerk, not rational after fully digesting the facts.
i noticed mother referred to herself as "custodian" so i doubt the reality of home is 2 biological parents with a healthy marriage. take a child with emotional problems that are likely undiagnosed, add some chemical instability beyond typical pubertal changes, put that child in a less than ideal home situation, and a school setting where staff/faculty fail to connect with her no matter how much compassion they have (it's there and apparent to me whether anyone else sees it or not), even if she has real friends not many her age are equipped to recognize a problem when they see it and know how to help her through it. miss 13 very likely feels isolated and hopeless without awareness of how she or anyone else can help her deal with the shit kids have to deal with today on top of her probable mental issues.
perfect mom? none are. every parent makes mistakes. mom not doing her best? idk. go interview the family and observe how mom does her momming, THEN pass judgement.
edit: then there was the mom's complaint to the pd. mom's complaint is very clearly misinformed, manipulated by miss 13's version of events. no parent wants to admit that their child has problems. every parent wants to believe their child's version of things. this mom is in denial, and yes, that is a problem. i hope she sees this video and realizes the severity of her daughter's problems.

Right on !
@@tonygeorge470 I honestly agree with u, and I also think that the parents should be charged, not the girl (because she's a minor and her parents should be held accountable)
@@vacalloprotonato1242well she behaves this way because of her parents but you can’t arrest her parents for her actions. Yep, these behaviors are hard to eradicate once you're this age without some serious intervention and the internal drive to change. This should be her rock bottom, but it probably won't be.
For those kids that never face consequences at home, sometimes facing real consequences outside the home is a reality check to give them a chance to change course. Often not.

Well I agree her behavior is deplorable the officers behavior is much more deplorable. Officers today tend to get physical way too fast and escalate things for no reason. They get their feelings hurt Andy said to go ahead and do whatever they want. This is why there are tons of lawsuits against officers that cross a line and it ends up collecting the city the state and the national government tons of money which is actually your money.
