19:13 this video definitely helped a lot! i'm currently in trucking school and backing up has been my biggest downfall. after watching this i think i have it !
I knew if I watched enough videos, I’d finally discover one that made sense to me. This is excellent, “Where’s my trouble?”, “Turn toward your trouble.”, “Straighten your tractor before attempting an ‘S’ pull-up”, “Bring trailer tires to center.”, “What did you just do? That’s a parallel.” Fantastic video. I’m about to start CDL school in Illinois…I pray my instructor is half as good as you.
“With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” That should literally be the official quote of backing a trailer! I started today and still need some practice. Great video!
I’ve been driving for a year and a half and still struggling greatly. I’m talking at times yes I get my trailer right in easily, but the biggest majority of the time it’s a struggle spending thirty minutes of my precious time trying to get my trailer in the space to park or drop my trailer. I am so glad that this video popped up on my feed. OMG, it explains everything to understanding why and how…thank you
Straight facts! I've also learned so much more through Christ by this video. Much knowledge to grasp and fully understandable in this video! You guys are awesome, thank you!
Been on my own now just over 2 weeks. Nobody taught me how to back like they should. Still suck. Lol getting better, but suck nonetheless. Thanks for these videos and hope i improve asap! Cause i enjoy the job until I have to dock or park at a busy truck stop. Lol . Been in tears myself and stressing out.
Same here , I can't seem to even set up straight sometimes, I tend to set up with my trailer already crooked. I'm not recognizing early when the trailer is veeriing off. What seems straight to me the instructor says it's not. Any help with videos on mirror set up maybe etc ? I'm pretty discouraged at this point, instructors just keep saying same advice...any help would be nice...
Thanks for the great video. I've been driving twelve years and this actually came very easy to me. I have started training and find it very hard to break down what's going on to others and this video helped tremendously!! Thanks again for a well put together, and instructive video.
When I was in training I could back up but was not comfortable I just felt like I could do better. It changed after I understood the relationship between the truck and the trailer. Before that, I used to chase the trailer too late and end up having to pull fwd and back up again. Once I understood what was happening everything that the instructor was saying became clear he was kinda saying it all along but not as detailed as I would want him to, he only said don't allow truck and trailer to bend too much but he didn't or couldn't explain why I don't know. I did my research to learn how the 5th wheel pressures different areas of the kingpin depending on the direction you turn the steering wheel. And with that, I know how to back up how to pull forward to make corrections.
@@saidali5559 haha hell yeah brother I’ve been working a class a job since August. I’m a pretty good driver. Just keep practicing bro I’m telling you it will start to make sense. The main thing you gotta remember is you only need to turn that steering wheel a little bit. Otherwise you will lose control of the trailer. Take your time and remember to breathe. Let me know if I can help you out with anything I’ll do whatever I can for you man 👊🏻
I'm gonna try this s-technique tomorrow to see how it works out. I think the S-technique is awesome rather than jack to the left or right. I will leave another comment this week regarding what I just learn here.
If it's like saw this video on time I will still continues practice at school now but I never give up next time will be better 👍...thanks for this video
Im having difficulty with the words....steer toward the trouble. Is the trouble missing the opening to back into OR hitting the cone at the front of the opening ? Steering input is the key...but....which way depends on what a person calls...The Trouble.. TIA I need help !
Man my school don't teach me anything.... I'm lucky I have a truck and now I'm renting a trailer practice entity parking lot I have my exam in 10 days my freaking school don't teach me anything I have everything learning from RUclips videos.
You all didn't believe in helping people or else you wouldn't have deleted my comment about another account that explains backing up with more details as to how it works.
