Thank you for this video, I just took my cdl test yesterday, I passed the pretrip, and airbrakes, and thought i was homefree , but the reverase offset was my downfall, i ran over 5 cones and lost 10 points, all because i oversteered and was driving fast. Now that was my third attempt and i need to get motivated again! sometimes its hard to understand what your doig wrong, so you videos are very helpful!! thank you, and God bless!

Today was my second day of yard training at CDL school. I struggled with this training/off set backing. Your video has been very helpful. I'm excited to try these methods tomorrow, I feel that I will do much better. Thank you for this video.
How did it go? I'm in my second day of offset backing and I suck lol
It went good, gave me a base skills to build on. Prior to this video I was lost. It helped me quite a bit. 2 mistakes I was making early on was over steering and not being patient.
Take pointers,back slowly, every little turn of steering wheel makes a reaction at end of trailer especially those pup trailers!
You will get it, it Takes time
3rd week in trucking school and off set got me so frustrated. Ty for this video. It answered a lot of questions.

Thank you sooo much for your detailed explanation. The point of 'wrong' theory help me a lot and a lot. You are the only one who brought out this point. Very helpful. I was a little confused about you saying 'turn a little bit' when the truck and tractor is not straight. Here is my guess and my understanding: when the truck and tractor is not straight, don't worry and don't overturn. before we do anything, we should turn our truck front wheel back to straight first, and then turn a little bit to the correct side, hole it and move the truck. The truck will go under or straight with trailer little by little. When you say 'just turn it a little', that has be under the precondition is we turn the front truck wheel to straight first? Do I understand right? Today is my first day going back to practice the truck after pausing for 2 years. I really appreciate your video of giving new driver advise.
What I mean by turning a little is that most new truck drivers over steer and don’t give the trailer time to respond.
When you over steer you may end up causing the trailer to go too much into the other direction which will put you off

I run out of time yesterday doing my maneuvers test, and i know why. It is because of the landing gear second bolt shit, because the truck I was testing on did not have that second bolt this consumed my entire time trying to figure out on my own.. for the folks out there starting soon now.. do not fully depend on this landing gear, learn how the trailer moves, that's my advise to you.
Please make a video about properly performing pull ups depending on which way your trailer is pointing. I’m struggling with using pull ups to fix my situation. I always seem to make it worse.

Hello I'm a new subscriber. I finished CDL school in Texas and I have taken 2 CDL skills tests so far. I passed the pretrip and incab today but failed miserably on my manuevers. ( Offset backing and parallel parking) . Even when I go to do a pull up during offset backing I cannot seem to get the trailer straight. Please help me. Thanks. I am not getting the concept. They say I drive excellent but I will never get to the drive test until I pass the maneuvers. Thank you.
