    Good video although In the instruction you give, you say to turn the steering wheel the wrong way. I think the mistake is because you are looking at the truck from the front. So turn steering wheel all the way left to initiate the first turn to get the trailer to go right, then turn wheel all the way right to get back straight, Stop, roll backwards to the cut point if not already there, then turn right again to get the passenger side back end In the box while hugging the middle cone on the driver side then finish up getting straight with final left turn. Trailer has to stay in the box so if you overshoot too deep, use a forward pull up and be sure to not hit the front cone or get outside the box. Everyday I learn my truck more when backing and I go slow, I’m only driving 3 months now.

      @@timmyblock6785 Sorry Timmy I just saw the video. A tip would be when backing and looking in the mirror. The side of the trailer you can see more, you turn the steering wheel in that direction to push it away. This will go hand in hand with understanding where you want the back end to end up. Watch the wheels and the very end of the trailer as that’s what more often than not will hit things. Take your time!! And get out and look when not sure. I have over 52,000 safe driving miles now. 🎉🎉

    • @driversuccess

      It could be because of the changes that were made that require CDL schools to have a certain number of hours. Do you remember that?

    Hi Thank you for your time and explaining offset. But I need to understand left and right side offset backing. My instructor teaches us that we should only turn wheel from 12 to 12 one time whether left or right and then look to see the whole triangle next to my landing gear then stop. Turn the wheel all the way the other direction until my truck is in front of my trailer. Straight my wheels and straight back until I see middle cone. When I see middle cone G.O.A.L. Then turn the wheel the opposite direction all the way while backing slowing into box. After that I’m lost. Please help I don’t get it from there.

      Different people teach differently. My suggestion for now is to follow your instructors teaching because he/she is teaching you to pass your CDL test. I focus more on getting the concepts and mechanics of how the trailer and truck work so that you make sense of what the trainer/instructor is telling you.

    Just started straight backing and sometimes when it gets away from me and the trailer goes to the other side im tracing it fast enough it straightens up the truck and trailer. So when do I start tracing ?

    • @driversuccess

      As soon as you see it start to get away you just make a small turn towards it to keep it straight

    Sir yesterday was my first day and I couldn’t do straight line backing and Offset. Because my teacher it doesn’t explain the right way and he yelled at me and say that I was the stupid one in the class. And now am scared to try again. You think if couldn’t done that the first day that mean that I won’t be able to do that later. I really will appreciate your answer sir.

    • @driversuccess
      @driversuccess  11 месяцев назад

      If that is what he told you on your first day he has a problem and in my opinion he shouldn’t even be in that position. Don’t mind him and never let someone else determine what you can and cannot do in such a way.

      @@driversuccess Sir thank you so much for your answer. The week after he told me that I learn to do offset parallel and more and after I was on of the best in the school. But I’m sad because I fail my test yesterday. I did straight line backing and offset and I fail on parallel. I got nervous during the test.
