What's wrong with the character proportions? Patrick looks off, and Sandy looks like someone squished her shorter.
The character models lost consistency over the years and the changes in animation style didnt help

And it's not random shit either, they are taking culinary masterpieces they made in the past, sauteeing it in shit they've made recently, and seasoning that with all the other bullshit that is modern spongebob. Bake 350 until golden brown, consume that, and then shit out the new season.

Actually am glad they didn't. Because they ruined the lore of that episode with this one. Spongebob in SB-129 is Spongetron and this SpongeBob is just not that. Also the Krusty crab wasn't closed it's also implied and theorized SB-129 takes place after the movie so there's 2 Krusty crabs. and this episode just screwed everything up. They pretty much don't care about any of the world building or lore anymore and it's sad.

@@kurtisvandermiller4507 I think this future is a different timeline than SB-129 remember that Spongebob, Patrick, Mermaid Man, and Barnacle Boy used a time machine before to help the duo Heroes' past selves and by the end of it caused a distortion which led to theit other selves to get stuck in their timeline.
So probably this PL episode is one of the results of that distortion. And that in other timeline we got a different Chrome future where Spongetron exist instead of the cube with wheel Spongebob
I won't lie, the "memory erasing device" joke was actually pretty funny.

I wasn’t scared of much as a kid, but watching “SB-129” at night would always put me on edge, with the Caveman era Sponge Bob and Patrick looking so gross and scary, and of course the iconic “Alone” into a panic attack. Then when Squidward breaks the lever in the time machine and Squidward just begs to go home as everything breaks around him. My fear could have been linked to me having a fear of getting lost and never finding my way back home as a kid, but I will never forget how this episode both intrigued and disturbed me, it’s still my of my favorite episode, but when I rewatch it I think about how strange this episode really is.
This right here. I doubt any modern SpongeBob episode could make you feel those same emotions.
Same, it really stuck with everyone. Practically nothing from this episode references those aspects in any meaningful way.
Imagine a modern Spongebob episode without Bubbles Bass,Kevin,Slappy,Nosferatu,Rube Goldfish,Camp Koral references,sequal episodes and bad jokes

@@lianneroban9906fr i somewhat agree, but i jus feel like they needa stop using bubble bass, kevin and nosferatu as much as they currently do, if they go down to an occasional use maybe like even once every few seasons i feel like it would be way less of an issue, but i do agree to an extent especially with the fact that i think the new characters suck along with their designs too, they dont have that simple but polished spongebob aesthetic and i personally hate that with a passion, its like the main thing i dislike about the new seasons, maybe the lack of new plots too
The show needs more characters to keep the vibe fresh. Expand and create new content and tell new stories with different people.

I feel like at this point Nick could somehow manage to make a sequel to _Waiting_ worse than the original, and that was just Spongebob standing in place an occasionally yelling at people for 7 minutes.
Like, full 11-minute episode, no first minute of stuff happening, no Squidward fixing the toy, just 11 straight minutes of Spongebob standing still and harassing people.

Wait, so there is a plankton in an eternal time loop? Is this a separate plankton from the other plankton? It has to be, because where did this plankton come from? He jumps in the time capsule, get sent to the future, travels back with his memory erased, and then starts the loop again by jumping in the time capsule. This has no beginning nor end.
Also, the eternal loop makes no sense since plankton would eventually start to age and die.

The og episode is super iconic, plus not to mention it has character development for squidword, and it also jumps to multiple time periods, it also gave us several different memes. It kinda bugs me that they just use older episodes to rehash old memories of superior episodes, it reminds me of Star Wars in a way and how they use the old stuff constantly in a really lazy fan service sort of way

I think there's two planktons now? The bootstrap paradox-y time loop plankton infinitely travelling backwards and forwards through time, and standard liner plankton (who probably IS trying to break into the Krusty Krab while everyone is busy)

My main problem about the recent SpongeBob episodes is that they rely heavily on nostalgia way too much instead of writing episodes about exploring with the already established characters and seeing something new that we haven’t seen before in the show.
I’m not saying SpongeBob is a bad show since I grew up with it throughout my childhood. I just think that making an episode with nostalgia pandering all around doesn’t make it good. Idk maybe that’s just me and that’s how I felt (just my opinion, don’t take it too seriously)

Yes, I think seasons 5 and 9 are pretty good and seasons 13 and 14 so far haven't been that good but seasons 6-8 are by far the most mean-spirited, boring and lazy seasons of the show but I love seasons 10-12, some of the best seasons of the show due to charming plots and being much less mean-spirited.

@@lightborn9071 not really, it is a perfectly closed and stable timeloop. Considering the eternal nature of time, such a thing is perfectly reasonable and doesn't break any laws of logic or physics if you assume time travel to be possible in the first place.

If this is the case then this episode could have been one of the more Genius ones, such a shame they ruined it with Camp Coral etc. This could have been one of the better episodes and if done right, maybe even one of the best ever.

Every time someone attempts to make a show last forever, we don’t enjoy the ride, we just watch what was once good slowly deteriorate into a husk of something we did enjoy
The show could’ve ended with the movie and it would’ve gone down in history as one of the best cartoons.

these sequel episodes are apparently for the 25th anniversary but seriously just do something different like a special i haven't seen any episodes of this season but i can tell it is a lazy season i will still watch it soon since i want to and i do enjoy modern SpongeBob quite a bit but still i prefer them coming up with original and fun plots
Yeah, tbh if they wanted to call back to the past, they could’ve instead made episodes that would have the hand drawn style and dialogue of old SpongeBob

@@Azurethewolf168 oh ok. I just think it may be hard to be able to replicate that kind of style of humor. Not even episodes written by the season 1-4 writers do that. It’s just a hard style to switch back on after so many seasons of the visual gags.
I honestly dont get this shows audience. All the shows are for kids while the episodes and their references are for adults.
A kid watching this show would just have its shits and giggles when seeing what happens to planktok while not understanding what the hell is going on around him, while an adult is extremley bored by the jokes while occasionally being able to say "Oh. I remember that."
Hold up everybody. Don’t just not watch the show just because someone on RUclips doesn’t enjoy the episode. I watched one of these RUclips reviews on modern SpongeBob before and they didn’t like the episode. I watched the episode and ended up really enjoying it so don’t necessarily take someone’s opinion as fact.

@@BaxterSquee Zim wouldn't fit modern day Nickelodeon at all, it would have to be on Comedy Central similar to the Ren & Stimpy revival although El Tigre could work as a revival but at the same time would crash and burn once you remember how Nickelodeon treated the original show, they never gave it a chance.

This episode was just them using "Member Berries" (South Park Reference) to try and hook in the OG Fans who liked the first Fuuuuuture episode.
The use of Chrome doesn't take away from the fact that its just another bland episode. I would've said the blend of CG Kid Sandy was pretty good if it wasn't centered around the equally bland Kamp Koral spin-off.
