I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: Spongebob’s house is the one you want as a kid, Squidwards’s house is the one you want as an adult, And Patrick’s house is the one you can afford.
I think what immediately raises the value and usability of almost all houses in Spongebob is that their exterior and interior are only very loosely connected. Squidward's house, for example, is somehow able to use only two outside windows that are accesible from far more than two inside rooms. I'd argue that incorporating the technology to create non-euclidian interior spaces into basically every single house speaks for the skill and ingenuinity of Bikini Bottom's architects - far surpassing the skills we humans possess. On that note, I find it admirable that Bikini Bottom's architects do not limit themselves by interpretings the rules of nature as LAWS of physics, but rather see them as what they really are - well-meant suggestions of physics.
It works for not just the background areas but the main city in general. Having a city made out of car mufflers and other metal junk is very fitting in a weird maybe ironic way
An honorable mention goes to Mrs. Puff's house. It's so cozy, tidy, and feminine, like how you would imagine a friendly middle aged woman would design her estate if given the resources. But the most amazing part of her home is that mysterious picture of her entering her house, which in it has a picture of her entering her house... and in that, it goes on forever.😯
By the way, this is just a reminder that Squidward has an elevator. It’s not used often, but he has one. I believe it first showed up in Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost and has made small appearances every time the writers/animators remember it exists.
@tuarnproject In your defense, if you were to include every one-off joke or episode, it becomes really difficult to rank the homes. Water itself is a great conductor of heat, that’s why in computer science, liquid cooling systems are becoming more popular as they’ve become more affordable. They’re actually really effective. It’s for this reason I don’t think overheating would be much of an issue with Sandy’s tree dome, as the water would do it’s part to conduct heat away As for ventilation, I always assumed her big ol tree served the role of recycling air. Not entirely sure how effective that would be in practice.

This was awesome
this was an amazing video, what on earth? i need everyone to see this
I never knew I would be recommended a video like this as an architecture student, but I'm here for it
Squidward would live in a house that's considered sensible to architect bachelors.
This sounds like an interior designer, not an architect. My initial thought was that a pineapple will rot and collapse.
"and bumblebee!" ahh character 😭😭
The nostalgia coming from this video hit me dawg. I grew up watching Spongebob and it is in my top 10 shows of all time.
Awesome video, It's good to see some positive videos about SpongeBob now.
Thank you :)
What a surprising video 😂 well done. Nicely explained points. SpongeBob and Sandys were always my favorite houses
Thank you!
The way you’ve integrated your avatar into the B roll is actually very unique and cool. Something I’ve never seen in a RUclips video before.
as an architecture second year student i love this video sm pls don't stop w the media architectural analysis' !!
i think we should stop construction of anything other than strip malls and big box stores, no need for these stuffy architects and their "design" when we can have an awesome parking lot
Patrick’s house solos 90% of any actual house of architectural merit. Compare the amount of people who’d recognize Fallingwater compared to a literal rock with an antenna: these may be some of the most famous structures ever
Haha you know what, I cannot deny this 😂
I just found this channel and I must say. It's amazing. Keep posting!!
1:59 the best solution to that is perhaps some of it is built underground, also sponge bob’s house does make sense, cuz I actually created a map of where the rooms could possibly fit, but I’m not the architect.
0:19 Yes, this definitely stands out as THE architectural monument, the BEST
Very much enjoyed this. It's very relaxing.
The thumbnail of this video says "FAB", and I couldn't agree more because this video is so FABulous.
You're fabulous!
A video I never knew could exist but immensely needed. Thank you, sir!!! This is GOLDEN!!! ✨✨✨
Thank you! You are GOLDEN!

I totally agree with Squidward’s house being the best, I love Moais just as much as him! 🗿
As a 2nd year Architect student. This was genuinely fun to watch and listen to!
Man, I'd love to live in Squidward's house.
About ventilation and fresh air: sand filters water, so Patrick’s house probably is well ventilated
#1: Patrick's house.
Why?
It rocks.
😂😂
Please do another, this is so well done!!!!
Thank you, expect more coming soon!
