    My primary camera for large lenses and landscape is the X-T5, but the XT-30 is my day use,backup,travel camera. It's small,and with the 18-55 ,2.8-4 zoom or a small prime, its excellent. Im thinking about buying the Fujifilm GFX 100s medium format camera since a used one with a couple lenses is about $5k US.

    I agree. When I was shopping I also looked at the XT-XX models. But, they just seemed to small. And, since I like to get out in the woods of Pennsylvania hiking with my camera, that weather protection was something I wanted. I'm really happy with the XT-3. I haven't done any video with it yet, but might give it a try this spring. Have a great week. Happy New Year!

      Another Pennsylvanian! The XT3 excels at absolutely everything I need it to for my professional and personal photo/video work and it’s as fun to use as the day I bought it.

      @@MattJacobs Yes, I'm in the Lehigh Valley. I actually went to college in Lock Haven for a while. PA has some fantastic hiking. The XT-3 was just right for me as an amateur. It is a quality camera that I got at a great price barely used with the 18-55, Fuji non-battery grip and extra batteries. It was in the original packaging looking like it was rarely used. Love it!

      I’m from So Central PA. I use the XT20. It’s my first Fuji and have had it for 5 years. Does everything that I need. Would like a better EVF. Thinking about the XT5

      @@barrystewart3909 That X-T5 is tempting and so is the X-S20. Not sure if I want to spend the money on a camera right now because I'd also like a telephoto lens to shoot sports. BTW, I'm in the Lehigh Valley area. We definitely have some great hiking in PA!

    If i can get a used XT3 for slightly less than a brand new XT30, which one would be better? From what i understand neither has IBIS, so is the autofocusing about the same for both?

    • @MattJacobs
      @MattJacobs  Год назад

      Is that really a question? The xt3 is better in every way just slightly bigger. AF should be virtually identical

    I haven't tried the XT3, but I love my XT30, maybe because it is my first good camera and because I just shoot for fun. From your cons I only agree with the one about the shutter release button, I also shoot by mistake when pushing half way, but I thought I was just clumsy. However I have learnt to control it better over time. Personally I would be bothered by the bigger size of the XT3, but then again I am still using a tiny iPhone 5s and I love its size. Go figure! 😂

    I’m about to buy the X-T3 after having Panasonic LUMIX compact, big change for me but confused by the newer X models and prices as I’m buying a used body and lense for about £1000 so it’s not an easy decision but after watching this, I feel like the advisor in the camera shop was also spot on with his comments, thanks Matt. Great video, I watched it till the end and your rambling was what I would have done too. Ha ha nice video and thanks again.

    Hi, I own a xt30 and I plan to make a change to xt3 for the bigger body and weather resistance. But I heard some people said that the xt3 has a really common problem with the battery that sometimes it reset all your camera settings and that’s a unexceptionable problem for me. Do you the same issue or any other issues with your xt3? My xt30 works perfectly fine.

  • @FaustoFerreira
    @FaustoFerreira Год назад +3

    Nice video Matt. I think you might have done a bad deal with that XT30: your shutter button is surely not working properly. I never had an accidental shot on mine because of half pressing to focus. For sure the XT3 gives a nicer shooting experience, and the viewfinder is much better, but that eye cup on the XT30? Do yourself a favour, throw it away! And that grip also, you won’t believe how much better the original Fuji grip is! Don’t cheap it on the accessories and blame the camera. Get a thumb rest and improve handling while solving the Q button problem. Use those red hears on the XT3 and get a nice light and small wrist strap for near point and shoot portability. With the right accessories, the XT30 is a fantastic, powerful and portable allrounder.

    I don't really mind the lack of a d-pad, since my X-E3 also doesn't have it, but I agree that having both would be even better. I do hate the placement of the joystick on the X-T30 tho, it's a bit too low, unlike my X-E3.
    Single-digit X-T line also felt more solid and robust, when I need to upgrade I'll definitely go with at least the X-T3.

    I stopped watching this at 6m:17s in. I lost count of the amount of this you complaining about the grip. this camera is small for a specific purpose. My opinion is that you any quite a few other tubeyouers need to get a grip and focus on the basics and learn how to hold a camera. Back in the good old film days pretty much all of the early SLR’s had no grip and all photographers managed, I still love to pick up and use my old film cameras and I think they’re great. I also think one of the reasons why Fujifilm is so popular so don’t F…..k a good thing!

    Is this xt30 or xt30ii? I would pay 400 for it if it’s the mk2, but I’m from the EU, so I guess I’ll need to find one here.
    That being said, the video quality is not the same. XT3 has double the bitrate, has 4k60, has all intra, and as you said 10 bit internally.

    Worth it to buy a brand new X-T3 for $1,000 in 2024?
    Will be my first serious camera investment, have been looking at it for a while. I know that used is fine and good, but I think I'll be more attached to a brand new camera + I take great care of my things.
    Is $1,000 a good new price?

    • @MattJacobs
      @MattJacobs  8 месяцев назад

      $1,000 is a good new price but I would still recommend buying used, considering the XT3 is 2 generations old now. You can find used cameras in really good condition and save some $ for lenses. In fact, I’m seeing multiple deals for XT4s in good used condition for $1000 online

    weather proof does not mean i can shoot under water right?
    how about xt4 and xt5. are these just next gen of xt3? do they bring acknowledgable improvements to justify the higher price?

    the xt3 with kit lens its about 2500 bucks, while the xt30ii new it costs a thousand bucks, with lens too. theres really no point of comparasion, its more than double the price, i think the xt30ii is the way to go for me.
