I have moved to the XT-5 from an XT-3. I am now 79 and I can assure you that every gram weight counts! I have never had any issue with weatherproofing but then I am a mere amateur. I have developed a slight shake so I reluctantly decided it was time to go to a camera with IBIS.
If you have the money, buy an XT THEY ARE ALL GREAT CAMERAS! The lenses are the finest you will find.

I know it's not exciting for most but the X-T2 is still a perfectly adequate camera, It can be slow I'm not denying that. But I'd say it's at least on par with the X-T3 for photos exclusively, the X-T2 is not great for video so I would invest in something a bit better.

@@demonsaint1296 oh, I don't disagree! I'd still love to have an older X-T2 as a personal camera. It's still beautiful and fun to use just as it was back then. Technology has just evolved to a point where for weddings and things that require crucial focus, reliability, and speed I'd recommend at least a T3. T2 would still be nice for slower paced workflows tho! Just specifically from an AF reliability and speed standpoint the T2 and T3 are night and day. There's a reason a ton of wedding photographers still use T3's! I JUST traded my own personal T3 body for an X100F about a month ago

I’ve just sold my X-T4 and bought a second X-T2 instead. I simply don’t need the extra bells and whistles and the high ISO performance of the X-T2 has slightly less noise at say 6400, which I can often be shooting at in a dimly lit church for a wedding, as I prefer not to use flash during unless absolutely necessary. I found that when shooting people, IBIS is a waste of time as it simply lets you shoot at low shutter speeds and you just get blurry shots of people. Also very annoying that the metering selection dial has been removed and changed to a stills/video switch. I rarely shoot video, but often change metering type during the day, depending on the shot and background, etc. Normally I am using spot metering for close ups, metering on faces, but more likely to use full frame metering for groups.

I changed from the XT4 to the XT5 because it went back to the flip up screen that I missed sooooo much from the XT3. I just couldn't get used to the flip out screen and it just took away from the enjoyment of using that camera. But that's just me, everyone's mileage will differ. The XT5 is just the perfect package for me - much improved autofocus, flip up screen, slightly smaller.

I want to share my little experience: after almost 2 years of X-t4 (coming from canon m50, I'm still a beginner amateur) I downgraded to X-S10, my main goal was achieving more compactness without losing IBIS and flip-out screen. I was scared of losing dials and extra buttons, reality is I'm actually faster with the endless dials and not missing those extras. Looking backwards the "analog" dials were an intriguing selling point, linked with the nice film simulation, but as time went by and I went deeper in Lightroom, post production and most of all composition, I never looked back for simulation and now when I use my camera I honestly don't care if I don't have dials with shutter or iso written on them, but I'm very focused on the photography I have in mind and the camera must only be fast enough and reliable (and the fact the processor and sensor is the same of the X-t4 is the most important thing). This is just my experience and everyone has its needs, what I really want to say to anyone being fascinated by new gear is to take a piece of paper, a pen and write down what photography you desire to do and a list of features a camera need to make that photography. In my case, after 2 years of trying a lot of lenses (16-55, 23-35-50 f2, 23 1.4 lm wr, 16-80 f4, sigma 16...) I ended up with X-S10, the old mighty 35 1.4 and the new sigma 18-50 2.8. Of course it took me almost 2 years of trial and error, as photography was (and still is) something new to me, but It's funny how now that I am more (at least a bit) aware of what I want to achieve I moved to a cheaper body, an old prime and a small zoom, when Fuji just released three amazing cameras as X-H2, H2S and X-T5. I also add that now that I feel comfortable with the X-S10 layout, the X-H2 is probably the most appealing new camera to me, for an eventual future upgrade, while when I still had the X-t4 I thought that X-H2 with its more classic DSLR approach was just a bad idea from fuji. Focus on your style guys and buy the tool that enhances it. And thank you Roman, your videos are valuable 'cos you ACTUALLY use the gear you talk about, you have your style, you make photos and have followed your channel in the last two years has helped my path for sure. Have a nice 2023 everyone.

My biggest fear initially with the X-H2 was that sterile feel you get from a Sony A7 III as the bodies appear pretty similar (partially why I left Sony in the first place). Initially, I DID get that feeling and stowed it away for about a month because of it, but as time progressed, I forced myself to use it a bit more because I couldn't justify a $2,200 paperweight. So after giving it a second chance I actually fell in love with it and am very happy with my purchase. The IBIS for photography is absolutely unmatched IMO. As soon as you half press the shutter (even if shaking cold) you can still hand hold insanely tac sharp images at low SS. It's something I can't explain and you'd truly have to experience to understand. I normally prefer the ergonomics of the T-Series with a L-bracket grip and was actually looking to downgrade my system because of the feelings it evoked when shooting on both systems. My middle of the road compromise wound up being: X-H2 for professional paid work that's serious and requires the best, and an X-E4 for personal work and travel. I find this combo works way better for me than combining both needs and wants into one body. I find myself babying my X-E4 a lot less than I would the T5/H2. It allows me to put myself into "less safe" situations and go for the shot, rather than playing it safe and missing the opportunity. Could even recommend an X-T3 for the same kind of setup, but just prefer the discretness, simplicity, and whimsical feel the X-E4 brings.
    Hope this helps!

That's what I always appreciate about his work, he has his simple, clear and human way to explain and give his advices, but always without imposing any viewpoint🙏💙. I understand the main differences between the latest models and for instance the XT3 or XT4 which I own. When upgrading one really needs also to question oneself if one can manage the higher resolutions, the pixels, the new features that come with the territory. I feel like it's "easy" to buy always the latest gear, like for instance people do with their iphones, but how many do really use or need the newest features? I am not a fan of bandwagon trends, and hope brands like Fuji don't start using features on their new models as "baits" in order to keep customers buying. One example? When the XT4 came out it was largely explained that the IBIS+larger battery made it unavoidable to have a bigger camera than the XT3. Now with the XT5 they've proven elsewise😕...

I went from X-T3 to X-T4 to X-H2S and I think the X-T3 is a great video option if you rig up the camera in a cage and especially if you use manual focus lenses. The screen doesn’t get in the way of the cables. You can power with USB-C PD. It has a headphone jack unlike the X-T4 and X-T5. The port door is completely removable. The sensor has less rolling shutter than the X-T5 and X-H2. It’s significantly less likely to overheat when shooting 4K 60 than the X-T4 and it recovers more quickly (from my experience filming weddings in the southern USA with both). Also there’s a smaller crop on 4K 60 than the X-T5 or X-H2. For certain video shooters the X-T3 is probably the best if they don’t want to go X-H2S for the advantages you outlined.

    Hi Roman,
I used to be a die-hard-fan of the Fujifilm system, starting with the X-T1, then X-T2. At that time I was mainly doing weddings and people photography. I was okay with the AF until I met the Sony 6400 and it's superior AF-tracking/face detection, which made me switch to Sony overall. But now, my requirements have changed, I do more travel and leisure, only a few jobs per year. With Fuji picking up on the AF-system, I'm right now returning back to Fuji and as I'm still torn between the X-T5 and the X-H2 I came across your channel.
Having said all this in length, I'd like to thank you for this very comprehensive comparison. I now finally made my mind and will go with the X-T5 and will later add a X-S20 (the baby H-S2) for my video work for my RUclips channel. Have you had a chance to test the X-S20?

So I have an xt30, an xt3 and XH2s. They are all really good cameras though some aspects of the ergonomics of the xt30 are poor. Still takes excellent images of course. The XH2s is definitely better in most regards especially the autofocus and video capability. I still prefer the controls on the xt3 though. But as ever, it depends on what you plan doing. I used to shoot Canon high end DSLR’s and came across to Fuji about 4 or 5 years ago now. Never once regretted it.

I owned the XT1, XT2, XH1 and currently the XT5, and after a thorough and extensive use of all cameras,l have to say that in terms of absolute photo quality, the XT5 wins hands down, with clean noise free images in basic ISO, best Dynamic Range by miles, and a great color rendition that would resemble the XT1 organic feel. I would put XT2 no.2 followed by XT1/XH2. XT5 is indeed a photo first form and function and is a home run for Fujifilm!
