It seems like the X-S20 and it's successors could become a sweet spot for amateurs who want a step up from a consumer level body but don't need/want a pro flagship. If they made it slightly larger, keep that grip, add a second SD slot and weather seal it the camera would be fantastic! As always, this was a nicely done, practical overview from a user perspective. Thanks and have a great week!
You are spot on. The X-S20 with a second card and weather sealing would be the best camera ever!. Fujifilm, you can call it the X-S30. You are welcome.
@@pimpthyride not really, that's what you get the XH2 for. Currently priced £350 more than the X-S20 in the UK. no point wedging in an intermediate at that price difference.
@@tubruk9097 I guess you are right. No point, it was more of me wishful thinking, I find the X-H2 a little bit big, so a smaller version of the X H2, for travelling would be ideal for me. But I guess that is what the X S20 is for.
Agreed with the XT dials. They can be temperature sensitive. My xt4, the iso dial gets sticky in cold weather, but frees up in warm weather. My XH2..none of those issues.
I was in Japan during the same time as you and I got caught out in the rain in shibuya and my XH2S worked like tank but my Sony a7r3 started acting up due to the moisture probably getting into the buttons or something. LCD screen started blanking out and certain buttons wasn’t responsive. Had to put Sony on the side for the day and let it rest but with my Fuji I was still able to get shots for the rest of the day.
Thanks! Got the XH2 because the battery grip option was removed on the XT5, even though 1-4 have it. Wanted it mostly for the vertical trigger. Wanted the higher resolution sensor. Also, the two XH cameras have a higher resolution EVF than the XT5. I do almost no video or fast action photography, so didn't need to spend $500 more to get less resolution on the XH2s, as the other features for me weren't worth it. But as you explain, each of these cameras is suitable for particular needs (that's whey Fuji makes different models), and I got the XH2 for only $150 more than the XT5 with a FREE Fuji battery grip on a Black Friday special, so I'm a happy camper!
nice one 🙂 I've owned the X-T2, 3, 4 and 5 (not all at the same time!), but switched from a T5 to an X-H2 last summer. Although it's slightly bigger and heavier I find it an easier camera to hand hold for birding, wildlife, etc. It's better balanced with the 100-400
I have XH2S and with xf27mm it’s quite nice street setup;) still not to put in a pocket but quite lightweight. But now X100VI took over this street part so xh2s is for bigger lens, sports, zoom, my xf90 etc ;)
Thanks for awesome content videos and down to earth approach, you take out the hype of wanting something because it is new over what’s right for budget and purpose… my X-T3 is not a priority replacement and like the idea of going light with it…. Thanks for all the videos on the art of photography, really helps with inspiration to get out more. 👍🏻
Btw, 21:02 - on the photography side, you're completely right. I use my X-H2S on photography jobs - also weddings - interchangeably. As you say though, for video there is a clear difference. My X-T3 is not bad by any means, but the X-H2S clearly has more dynamic range and exposure latitude in F-log2, especially when put side-by-side. Still, most people wouldn't need it!
It's crazy that you can chuck on the Zeiss 35f2.8 and it's basically the size of the X100VI. I wish Fujifilm would make something even smaller, they have the lens mount for it.
Last week I was in Italy with X-H2S and XF18-55mmF2.8-4 for VLOG and Photo. With dial I can swap 4K 24fps, 4K 120fps and Picture mode between Custom Mode so fast that I won't miss any shot I wanted. First day it was rained like crazy, the camera was very wet. I'm really surprised that it can stand such weather like that. Like you said its grip is quite comfortable for shooting video even at the waist level. The battery life is wonderful, mostly I need only 1 battery for the whole day. Love the X-H2S so much!
I struggle with the XH2 body, its the most performant and best built body but it strips 50% of the reason most people shopt Fuji away, the experience. Its a shame Fuji decided to skimp on the XT5 to position the XH2 higher. Im all about the XT5, X Pro and X100 for the shooting experience but I might as well upgrade to a Sony rather than the XH2.
Thanks for all the info, man! I'd be curious to hear more how you set the different custom modes on your X-H2/X-H2S, it was an interesting first glimpse you provided in this video!
Great review! Fuji sent me the XH2s to test, I am going to admit, that camera is NEXT LEVEL, I loooooved it. It’s big but ergonomics are the best, feels strange to be back on X-T4 now. I’ll definitely upgrade when I get paid for this despite my love for the retro dials
Yeah the forgotten camera of the Fuji line-up lol. If I'd want to try out video more as an amateur with Fuji, that would be my pick as well, no way I'd ever go for the X-H2S.
I agree. I've just traded my X-T4 for a X-S20. OK it's not weather sealed and has only 1 card slot but for most everything else, it's either better (esp Autofocus) or just as good (IQ).
Camera gear doesn’t matter, the important thing is you’re recording your life When I look back at my photos of my siblings as kids, I cannot remember the camera I used
Agree! My main camera is an old X-T2, sometimes I rent a full-frame Canon or Sony for work. When I look through pictures in my portfolio, I can’t immediately remember which picture was taken with which camera. This means that your style takes precedence over technique, no matter what camera or lens you use.
In hindsight I don't care which camera caught which moment. However, I miss moments way more often with my X-T than with my Ricoh GRIII. One reason is that I'm more likely to bring a compact everywhere, and leave a big camera at home. Another reason is Fujifilm AF drives me insane. I have missed so many amazing moments to grindy hunting, and back focusing on high contrast lighting behind the subject rather than focusing on the subject. It's just too slow and lacking in confidence to effectively document my life. So gear does matter a little, but only to the point of will it be there and will it work or not. 😂
Hi Roman, The XT5 is actually the better camera for custom modes over the XH2 or XH2s as the XT5 has 14 instead of 7 active ones accessible through the Q menu. With the XH2/s you have to pick 7 between stills and video i.e. 3 stills modes and 4 video modes, etc.. With the XT5 you program 7 stills custom modes and 7 video custom modes and when you switch between stills and video you get access to all 7 in either mode. There's no hard dial, but they are all easily accessed with the Q menu. As a solo content creator the biggest differences for me are the screen styles. The XT5 is really difficult to do solo video with. The Sony A7R5 style 4D screen is the best of all poissibilities, lets hope Fuji copies it in future.
Just got my hands on an XT3 and was debating whether to upgrade to the XT5. After watching this video, I've decided to stick with my XT3. The image quality hasn't seen a significant jump, plus I'm eyeing some killer lenses like the 23mm and 55-200mm zoom. Thanks for the insights, they really helped me make my decision!
Great video , Roman! To echo others below, great comparison analysis, very clear & to the point. As I usually say, no icing on the cake. Keeper i video. Using a Xt-4 with occasionally XS20 which I used primarily in Europe last summer.
Really great video. I'm coming back to photography after a handful of years, and all of my kit was old before I paused so am starting again. The X-T5 was initially what sparked my interest, but to give everything a fair chance I hired an A7iv with 24-70 GM a couple of weeks ago, had an X-H2 with 16-55 red label last weekend, and have the OM-1 ii with 12-40 arriving today. I agree with everything you say about these cameras. I really wanted to love the XT-5, but in the hand it just wasn't comfortable enough to hold for extended periods, and I figured I wouldn't really use the top dials all that much as it would just be configured to aperture priority for the vast majority of the time. What really sold me on the X-H2 was the left dial and being able to save so many configurations that could be recalled quickly. One minute I'll be shooting a beach scene, the next I need to try and grab a shot of my kids who are running about all over the place - a quick change between C positions on the dial allows for that pretty much instantaneously. Yes, I found the AF on the Sony to be stickier (and almost telepathic), but it's not terrible on the Fuji. Personally I had more fun shooting the Fuji, and prefer their colour science. Ideally I'd like one of each!
This is an awesome video - I’d coincidentally just bought an xt-3 and was feeling concerned about it and wondering if I should’ve gotten an xt-5 instead. Your perspective has helped me to be confident in keeping the xt-3 and a 35mm while I’m learning and starting out! Would you be willing to consider making a video of you revisiting one of your old cameras and doing some street photos with it? Like the xt-3 and a 23mm? I’d be curious about any more suggestions you have about using the xt-3
Hi Roman, I hope to hear more about what make you stay in Fujifilm rather than other brandings so far? Since those gears are similar to a full frame size, and you also edit the photos. So I think color and size are not real matters to you to choose Fujifilm. But a full frame can definitely make better image quality and more likely faster focusing and better filming. Even when speaking about price, if not going for premium zooms or fast primes, there are many choices to keep the budget down as close to Fujis. I am eager to hear from your professional perspective. Thanks a lot!
I’ve tried other brands and find them boring to use. They are good technically but as a user experience they feel bland. The only other brand I enjoyed using is Leica. But it’s too expensive for me. At this level there isn’t much difference in image quality tbh
To most people it's probably less fun. But I'd disagree with that, the design reminds me of a small and cheaper gfx, essentially just a more futuristic design more than retro. I think it's really cool and the evf and top screen on it is so incredible, it's very fun to me personally.
Being mainly street photography you might not be a massive tripod user but the xt5’s grip is in my opinion improved by the smallrig L bracket, which allows for it to be tripod mounted in landscape or portrait, and also allows it to sit flat on a desk. A lot of them only extend half way along the base which is annoying as you can’t rest it stably on a flat surface. I initially left the side grip extender off as it is brown wood-effect in my opinion is a bit naff looking, but found I kept accidentally pressing the front dial in with my finger, so put it back on again as it seems to improve the ergonomics by placing the fingers slightly further away from the dial when holding it. If you know any better L-brackets that have form _and_ function let us know!
I agree with your overall conclusions. I have the X-T5 and it's a great camera. I had an X-H1 and loved it, but a tad large for my hiking with my dog amateur use. Also, the earlier models were all great and available at a good price and will give great results. Some of my all time favourite photographs were taken with the X-T1 and my nephew takes brilliant photographs with his X-T2.
I really like both the XT5 and the XH2 but so many are now bashing the Fugi auto focus (especially the continuous and tracking). It makes me reticent to but a Fugi until they get this issue resolved. What is your perspective on the Fugi focus setting? I like the "stryle" of the XH cameras but they do seem a bit "thick" in the hand.
I think the absolute best “first camera” from Fuji is the X-E3 with an XC15-45mm. It’s small enough that they won’t feel self conscious using a big camera in public. It’s probably the lightest body+lens setup from Fuji so they won’t be put off by carrying something heavy. It’s literally pocketable. The lens has great stabilization and goes from wide for vlogging, to basically nifty-fifty focal length. It gets great battery life, and of course it has the same image and video quality as an X-T4 so the results will knock their socks off when they shoot their first keepers. Best of all, the price is less than a new iPad Air. I got my X-E3 open-box for $499 and my XC15-45 from MPB for like $112. I own the X-T2/3/4 and XH2S, but 90% of my non-work photos over the past 3 years have been shot with my X-E3 and either an XC zoom or Viltrox prime.
A really nice video as always, I get it’s a job, but RUclipsrs change their gear more often than most people change socks - the greatest street photographers/documentarians of our age (McCullin, Cartier-Bresson, Franks, Winnograd, Murtha, Killip, Maier, Meyerowitz Leiter, etc etc …) created the most iconic, creative, beautiful, captivating and unique images with a camera body and prime … all more or less in manual mode … - Just get out there, shoot, enjoy, and be your creative selves 😉
RUclipsrs change their gear because it gives them new things to make videos about. This isn’t exclusive to photography. Automotive RUclipsrs change cars frequently. Cycling change bikes etc. you get the idea. It’s business. You make a video about how you spent 5 years using the same prime and body to produce world class work and only 5 people will tune in. Great for your photography but not great entertainment. The average photographer couldn’t give a crap about how good someone’s else’s photos are. They only care about their own photos and how to make them better. Hence why the gear and tips videos will always do well I don’t chop and change brands because I’m lazy and once I have a system that works, I stick with it. I do chop and change lenses a fair bit but that’s the same as artists using different brushes
@@snapsbyfox Yeah I get that, it’s about generating business through interest. I was just making an observation. But, I do think you are possibly wrong when you generalise the average photographer ‘not giving a crap about how good someone else’s photos are’ and that possibly does us average amateurs a disservice? I’m very interested in other people’s photographs, I spend a lot of time studying images (and where available videos) it’s how I have developed as an amateur and yes I definitely would be interested in seeing the workflow of how good photographers consistently produce great images using the same ‘old gear’. There are a few excellent street photographers who do just that on social media … Alan Schaller, Peter Turnley, Phil Penman, Ovidiu Selaru, Mark Fearnley, Matt Stuart, Matthias Burling, Pal2tech and Paul Reid to name just a few … but I do get the point you are making, it wasn’t a dig, it was an observation by someone who has honestly recently fallen down the RUclips gear ‘rabbit hole’ whilst searching for my ideal street setup. Apologies, if it didn’t come across that way … incidentally I see the new GR3 has been announced … so hang on to your hats! 😊
I find the X-T5 top dials actually more efficient to switch between certain shooting scenarios. If I suddenly want to switch from f1.4 + Auto S.S. to 1/30s Auto Aperture to capture some movement, I can just rotate the Aperture ring into A with the left hand and turning the S.S. dial to 1/30 with my right hand, which takes less than a second. Everything else such as Film Simulation, AF settings, Exposure Compensation etc. stays the same. The workflow with the PASM + C1-C7 dial doesn't work for me because it resets all the other parameters I've dialed in for the shooting scenario.
Roman…once again a very enjoyable video. I do not use the Fuji commercially so I settled on the XT5 but have been thinking the XHS would of been my best choice because I can appreciate the CF card and dual sensors but the size of the XT5 is a deal breaker for me.
I like the X-T5 because it's not all optimized to be "as fast as possible", i just like the process with the dials. The only thing what is negative from my view is the grip, i would have loved the grip of the X-H2 on the X-T5. Other then that it is more then good enough for me and my skills. Thanks for the video and take care.
Hi Roman. Do you know the H1? I bought a T5 since than. Now what ? Keep H1, buy another T5, an H2, an H2s? I am not professional but ambitious . I am convinced that I will go to a worldwide photo shooting trip this year. Scotland or Island or Normandie. Sell all of this and get a Sony or a Nikon. Costs don’t matter. WHAT WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU?
Great video Roman, thank you. I don’t care about camera size nearly as much as I care about having a reasonably comfortable grip especially when using bigger lenses. Do you ever use a flash? How does that feel on the xH2S with a bigger lens?
Grip and ergonomics is also a top priority for me. That's why I sticked with canon. Now if I had known they would shit on their customer base with the RF mount.... Lol.
I am generally enthusiastic about the 40mp sensor but when I realized the rolling shutter/readout is worse than an XT3, I was back on the fence-it really kills the value of the ES for sports/action/wildlife photography. I use pre-shot ES and CH mode quite a bit on the XT3 and if I do any sort of panning the rolling shutter can show up. I know Fuji does not make their own sensors but they really should have done something-anything-to improve on the speed of the new sensor (at least match the XT3) and the image quality of the older 26mp sensor (dynamic range/ISO performance/whatever).
Great comprehensive comparison and review. Thank you for your hard work! Just a quick question: what prime were you using on the X-H2/X-H2s? I thought I saw Minolta/Nokton imprinted on it. My preferred focal length for the most part is 35 mm (equivalent).
Thanks Roman! It was very helpful. I would like to ask just one question, about x-h2s, in relation to heating, do you have any experience? As you've been to different countries, from cold to hot, you must have a cool experience to share.
Photographing moving subjects sports wildlife XH2S better. Portrait landscape either X-T5 or XH2 however yours is plenty good for all types of photography.
Hi Roman. How does the XH2s compare with the XT5 in terms of low light capabilities? I have the XT4 and in low light situations (indoors on a heavily overcast day) at ISO640 the noise is very noticeable. People with full frame cameras always tell me it's the fault of the APS-C sensor. But I love Fuji and am pretty bought in to the system, so I'd prefer not to switch if there's an alternative that handles noise better.
I have the X-T5 and am thinking of getting the X-S20 for some mobile videography. The video specs look pretty similar to the X-H2S to me. Would you recommend this combo?
Hey Man, thx for ur Video and my three Fujifilm is the X-H2s for Sport and Wildlife, X-S20 my Daily Driver and the X-pro 2 for my Voigtländer Lense and in Black and White. I think, the X-H2 still missing in my collection ;). Liebe Grüße Mark
Hi Roman. Thanks for the video . Your channel made me understand photography and I have some amazing photos of my family and friends. I had an Xt5 with 33mm 1.4 in my last trip. I am shocked to see many of my photos are so soft and not in good focus though the green box was clearly on the face of people when I took the photos. Pics from my Sony a7c with a 50mm f2.5 looks awesome with at least 95% of them are in good focus. I do not want to edit each photos in RAW for that reason I used the Fuji. Something is wrong with my setup ?
i found this aswell when i first got my camera (fuji xt20 and xc 35 f2) but you sort of learn the limaitions of the focus and get used to it. you will get sharper pictures with time. also use single focus not continuous i find its more consistent. (i am no expert but thats what ive found)
Currently coming from a Nikon D7000 (APS-C sensor) and wishing for a lighter, updated camera mainly for travel (starting with Peru), I have an opportunity to purchase a used X-T4 for $1300CAD (7,531 actuations) or a used X-H2 for $2000CAD w/dual charger (29,012 actuations). Still have my 1980s Nikon FE2 film camera, just for context as both Fuji cameras have form factors I've used; which camera do you recommend? Cheers
I would also be quite curious to know if what settings you can store in the X-H2’s C1-C7 presets is any more, or less, expansive than what you can store in the X-T5’s Q-menus. The X-T5’s Q menu can store most AF settings, but it can’t, for example, store whether shutter-AF is on or not (which is in the button/dial setup menu). Can the X-H2 store these in its preset dial?
The Sony cameras have the worst ergonomics. My hands would get cramps whenever I tried these cameras. The X-H2 and X-H2s have excellent ergonomics and these cameras are not that bulky. My Nikon Z9 is bulky!
I have seen comaprison where channels say the HX2s has 40 Megapixels. But online Fuji site says its 24. What is the actual answer? Does one refer to photos and the other to video? Im a newbie so pardon my questions if they seem really silly. Thanks in advance.
Last words of this video were the best. Stop chasing the latest and greatest. Ppl are so oriented on gear, will pixel peep and will tell themselves they need the expensive glass to get good at it. Less gear, more art.
I'm an enthusiast and my current set up is an X-T5 with an X-E4 as a lighter pocketable camera and back up. I shoot stills and very, very rarely video. Regarding Roman's comments about using the 5 with zoom lenses. I pair it with a Tamron 17-70 f2.8 and a Fuji 70-300. I can carry either all day attached to the camera. Once one gets into bigger lenses like the XF 100-400 or Tamron 150-500 etc then the calculation is a bit different. For my use cases the weight and compactness of the 5 and those lenses or others depending on the project is right up there in importance.
X100VI is the only answer😂. I do have one on preorder I might see this year…. I still have my X-S20 which I really like. Weather sealing would have been nice
@@j.f.1979 I found the Zf to be uncomfortable to hold. My little finger lived under the camera. Even using the SmallRig grip or the Peak Design micro clutch didn’t really help as the camera isn’t really “curvy” in the right places and the shutter button position was a PITA. My fault for buying blind. Also, there are no highlight blinkies on the EVF or on the LCD as there are on the Fuji X-H2. I find this really useful. The X-H2 is so comfortable to hold. I thought I would miss full-frame but I haven’t so far, the Fuji really is a lovely camera to use and its film simulations are wonderful.
Oh I'm vacillating so much. Okay I'm selling my house so funds or not as much of an issue. I was a photographer I've used my phone and smaller digital cameras over the years. Power shots and such. But I want to get back into photography for real. Primarily for myself but I also want to build a portfolio for friends who are interested in hiring me because they know me and trust my shall I put it my aesthetic in my eye.
Oops so that being said I wanted to get the XT5 but I've been hearing a lot of issues with it not being durable which you also mentioned. The H2S is awesome but if I'm going to spend that kind of money wouldn't it be better to get one of the Sony's for a better lens selection. This is primarily for travel and for doing like Aurora Borealis landscape nothing that moves very quickly but also I'll probably get myself a point and shoot for doing street photography. So I was going to go with the XT5 photo/XS20 video(or just usemy S24 ultra for Video)
For Sony I was going A7RV/ A6700 or ZVE10 What's the lenses though it's like an extra 5 grand for Sony if not more. But for my understanding their tanks compared to the Fuji what's your take if you don't mind my asking.
Was thinking about which one to get and i chose xh2s over the xt5 because of the video features, although shooting photos with the xt5 is still more fun
I hate hate hate hate the ubiquitous side hinged pull out rear screen of the X-H’s. The tilt is so much better, inconspicuous, faster and unobtrusive both for photography AND filmmaking.
i have been tossing around the idea of jumping to Fuji from Canon for the past year. I like the idea of a X-T5, but not a big fan of the dials. I have bene thinking of getting the X-H2, but going from my Canon to another camera that is just like my Canon is not really that appealing either. Is there a camera that gives you a X-T5 body without the dials? Would like to have a small body and get some of the small primes and maybe just a bigger zoom lens.
The X-T5 is about the dials. You can pick up one of the range-finder style cameras but we're still waiting for both a new X-Pro and an X-E5 so you'd have to look at the older models.
I own an XH2S and R5. Lots of value for money in Fujifilm X-mount. R5 is a great camera but lack of third party AF RF lenses really sucks. RF is super expensive for RF L glass. AF is better in R5 but not so much that I'm not reaching for the XH2S. XH2s has much better video quality in my opinion than R5 or even the R5C. I love them both but really appreciate the value for performance and image quality in the X-mount ecosystem.
@@jessejayphotography I only use adapted EF lenses on my R6, I just added a Fringer EF-FXii adapter to the XH2, I did a large corp headshoot shoot using my Sigma 105 1.4 on the XH2, OMG, soooooo good. I like the skin tones better as well. The R6 still has a place in my bag, the eye AF is better hands down and better for shooting my kids dance/sports. The XH2 is my camera for 85% of my work.
@@MichaelFrederickPhotoyeah they really fckd their customer base. I only shoot adapted EF glass for that reason. I'm not one to spend money just for switching (photos are photos - ppl put too much emphasis on gear) but I crave a lighter setup and cheaper primes.
Io usa la XH1 alcuni giorni fa mi è caduta , dimenticato la borsa aperta ,fatto un bel volo , pesavo si fosse disintegrata invece no è un vero carro armato .
Hi Roman, I like videos like these because if we could have a one on one communication in person, it feels like the conversation we’d have! I do a few things with my Fujis. I use my XH2S for events, travel, and wildlife. I do not do video. I agree that it’s the best of the best! I actually returned the XT5 for two reasons: I found it crazy making to try to adjust to the dials while shooting events. I like the DSLR style of the XH2S for what I do. Event shooting manual which is how I shoot, it allows me to act very quickly using the various custom setting dials but it’s also so incredibly fast that when I’m shooting events. 99% of the time every shot is in focus! I don’t mind paying for the CF express cards because like you said it’s like having a hard drive in your camera! For street, which is what I do for my own personal 100% of the time, practically, I prefer the X-T30II. I have small hands and I like interchangeable lenses so it’s perfect. I don’t need to process 40 megapixel images and the autofocus is actually lovely! However, I’m in a bit of a quandary in terms of a back up for my XH2S. As I mentioned, other Fuji bodies offer the dials on top which will create confusion during events. I need to act quickly and I need a back up camera which can also be used for the sideline portraits. I’m debating whether to pick up another XH2S or just the XT3. Thank you for this video!
What I got from this video, from all the fuji bodies you own, and naming one your just for fun camera, all this money could have gone to one full frame hybrid body and good glass lol

Great video Roman. I always appreciate your no-nonsense approach to the advice you give.
But as you explain, each of these cameras is suitable for particular needs (that's whey Fuji makes different models), and I got the XH2 for only $150 more than the XT5 with a FREE Fuji battery grip on a Black Friday special, so I'm a happy camper!
nice one 🙂
I've owned the X-T2, 3, 4 and 5 (not all at the same time!), but switched from a T5 to an X-H2 last summer. Although it's slightly bigger and heavier I find it an easier camera to hand hold for birding, wildlife, etc. It's better balanced with the 100-400
How does the H2's autofocus in action settings compared to the T4 and T5? Thanks.
didn't use those settings before I had the X-H2 sorry so can't compare. the bird AF on the X-H2 is very good though@@71co0k
I really like the clarity and technicality of your explanations in your video's, while also keeping it down-to-earth. You're truly helpful!
I love my X-H2S. Thank you Roman for this video. 😊Which lens do you use the most for video?
Btw, 21:02 - on the photography side, you're completely right. I use my X-H2S on photography jobs - also weddings - interchangeably. As you say though, for video there is a clear difference. My X-T3 is not bad by any means, but the X-H2S clearly has more dynamic range and exposure latitude in F-log2, especially when put side-by-side. Still, most people wouldn't need it!
Finally I’ve been waiting for this comparison
Love my Fuji cameras.. but the A7Cii sure is fun.. and the 33MP sensor is amazing. Just sayin’.
Love the X-H2S so much!
thank you I think this helps me to decide
Great video! I do think if you want a cheaper camera with video, get the X-S20.
Great video!! I bought X-T5 and enjoying it So far…
Camera gear doesn’t matter, the important thing is you’re recording your life
When I look back at my photos of my siblings as kids, I cannot remember the camera I used
100%
In modern times, gear does matter to a point
Have you tried dental floss on the top dials? I had the same sticking problem and as stupid as it initially sounded, this sorted them out immediately.
I lean towards the XH2s but I've been XT line consistently and I'm afraid I won't want to pick up the camera if move over to the XH line.
I think you give very good, honest and no bullshit information for Fujifilm. Love watching your videos and great photos too.
Tip ..use a teeth flosser string to clean under your dials ..keeps grip out ...
I love my X-H2S over any of my X-T cameras.
Great video, as always. Thanks so much Roman! 🤝
Thank you for the clear difference between the camera
Indeed, personal experience is subjective but a big thing. Thanks for the reply!
Ta, very informative and cleared some miconceptions. I'll keep my XH1, the shutter button is sooo slick! And it does what I need
It's funny I shot a wedding...and prefer the XT5...the light compensation was.much easier to adjust on the flow
Is the XH2 still "fun"? or is it more about getting the shot rather than the shooting experience?
Hey buddy,
I have the X-H1 and for my first camera I love it. How did you find much of a difference in AF did you find moving to the XT-5.
Thanks a lot. As usual, very useful and clear
Can you do a video on the business side of your photography, etc. to afford these cameras? 🙂
Amen. I love my x-e3 to death, never getting rid of that camera
Finally someone said that 🙂
I agree 100% but I'm open to listen other perspectives if someone disagree
RUclipsrs change their gear because it gives them new things to make videos about. This isn’t exclusive to photography. Automotive RUclipsrs change cars frequently. Cycling change bikes etc. you get the idea. It’s business. You make a video about how you spent 5 years using the same prime and body to produce world class work and only 5 people will tune in. Great for your photography but not great entertainment. The average photographer couldn’t give a crap about how good someone’s else’s photos are. They only care about their own photos and how to make them better. Hence why the gear and tips videos will always do well
I don’t chop and change brands because I’m lazy and once I have a system that works, I stick with it.
I mainly use it to take pictures, is xh2 or xh2s suitable for me?
WHAT WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU?
good to know im not the only person with the faulty top dial problems... and yes happened right after a visit to the beach. =(
Great video Roman, thank you. I don’t care about camera size nearly as much as I care about having a reasonably comfortable grip especially when using bigger lenses. Do you ever use a flash? How does that feel on the xH2S with a bigger lens?
In Roman’s X-H2 manual he explains that he never uses flash.
I have the XH2s , am I missing out from the XH2? I’m not doing any video anymore , I though I would but I’m just sticking to photos
Photographing moving subjects sports wildlife XH2S better. Portrait landscape either X-T5 or XH2 however yours is plenty good for all types of photography.
Great video comparison. I find x-s20 good for beginners and travel
Which version of PD anchors you have on your X-T5?
Gran vídeo me ayudó mucho en decidir que cámara adquirir 👍🏻
(i am no expert but thats what ive found)
Very useful review! Good job!
How is the IBIS of the XH2s compared with the Lumix GH7?
Currently coming from a Nikon D7000 (APS-C sensor) and wishing for a lighter, updated camera mainly for travel (starting with Peru), I have an opportunity to purchase a used X-T4 for $1300CAD (7,531 actuations) or a used X-H2 for $2000CAD w/dual charger (29,012 actuations). Still have my 1980s Nikon FE2 film camera, just for context as both Fuji cameras have form factors I've used; which camera do you recommend? Cheers
What a great video! thanks!
I wish Fugi made a Xt5s with the XT style but the XH2s sensor and 26mg.
With 3 cameras, I would say money is not an issue, so sell the xt-5 and try a gfx for your slow walk around stuff.
Does a Nikon Z6iii make me look more professional than the X-H1 with battery grip and the 50-140 does?
The Sony cameras have the worst ergonomics. My hands would get cramps whenever I tried these cameras. The X-H2 and X-H2s have excellent ergonomics and these cameras are not that bulky. My Nikon Z9 is bulky!
Great video.
I will never remember all the customs setting on the H2. Prefer to see like it is on the xt5
I have seen comaprison where channels say the HX2s has 40 Megapixels. But online Fuji site says its 24. What is the actual answer? Does one refer to photos and the other to video? Im a newbie so pardon my questions if they seem really silly. Thanks in advance.
The XT5/H2 have 40 megapixels, the H2S has 26 megapixels.
Last words of this video were the best. Stop chasing the latest and greatest. Ppl are so oriented on gear, will pixel peep and will tell themselves they need the expensive glass to get good at it.
Less gear, more art.
Thanks, great vid!
You could just put the L bracket grip on it and that would solve the imbalance with larger lenses.
X100VI is the only answer😂. I do have one on preorder I might see this year…. I still have my X-S20 which I really like. Weather sealing would have been nice
I want the Nikon ZF which one you’d replace ? I have X-T3 , XH2
I sold my Zf to buy the X-H2.
@@nespressoman Interesting - why was that?
@@j.f.1979 I found the Zf to be uncomfortable to hold. My little finger lived under the camera. Even using the SmallRig grip or the Peak Design micro clutch didn’t really help as the camera isn’t really “curvy” in the right places and the shutter button position was a PITA. My fault for buying blind. Also, there are no highlight blinkies
on the EVF or on the LCD as there are on the Fuji X-H2. I find this really useful. The X-H2 is so comfortable to hold. I thought I would miss full-frame but I haven’t so far, the Fuji really is a lovely camera to use and its film simulations are wonderful.
Drop the X-T3 for the Zf. The T3 has the worst Fujifilm colours to date and does the same thing as the Zf: retro dials. Who needs both?
@@nespressoman Thanks - sounds understandable. I had the Zf in my hands once, it felt immediately uncomfortable.
For Sony I was going A7RV/ A6700 or ZVE10
What's the lenses though it's like an extra 5 grand for Sony if not more. But for my understanding their tanks compared to the Fuji what's your take if you don't mind my asking.
Thx 4 honestly 😊
X-S20 or X-A7. Both are regular PSAM cameras. Entry level. X-S20 is the size of the R8, X-A7 about the size of the R50.
Feel like getting an R6 now
I have the R6 and XH2, Get the XH2S, the body and lenses are lighter and MUCH cheaper. The lack of 3rd party glass makes a RF system $$$$$.
@@stephangauthier911 YUP!! The XH2 + Viltrox primes are delivering amazing results, my bag weighs nothing to boot!
#TeamXH2
My opinion is the same👌📸🤗
Tip Top
Please I have no more money 🤣
謝謝!
What I got from this video, from all the fuji bodies you own, and naming one your just for fun camera, all this money could have gone to one full frame hybrid body and good glass lol
nice content but watching you in bw is not the nicest thing to see 😅 but I guess you did it on purpose bcs of environment’s colors etc. (I hope)
Haha 'is that a GFX'
