Citroen Relay Knocking noise for Citroen and Stellantis internal use

- This is the noise of the engine.
it gets worse as the engine gets warmer throughout the day.

PLEASE NOTE
This has been in for these problems on 5 different occasions totalling 28 days,
28 days which i have lost money not being able to work (because i have no van, only to be told there is nothing wrong because they "plugged it in for a software update" its clearly the hardware and not the software causing the issues,
I also got told "because its a first time fix they cant just throw parts at it" and this was on the last visit.
The fifth visit and 28 days or my van being in for repair and they are still not prepared to change any parts. How bad does it have to get before they will actually try to resolve the issue?

Had same from new. Went into citroen birmingham at 8k for service and told it's normal. Sounds terrible. Only covered 23k in nearly 3 years. Stopstart not working either. Fan also comes on randomly (without aircon on) and burning plastic smell from front. Only way to stop fan is turm engine off then back on. Tried getting extended warranty but costs silly money. (They know there's a problem ) ??
All the same problems here with mine including the start stop never worked and gobbed off.

Definitely sounds and looks like an injector problem there mate. The shaking of the engine at idle. Common problems with these. I would get your garage to do an injector leak test to see which injector is not spraying at the same rate as the others.
hmm injectors need a retest. timing chain? is there a anti knock device fitted?
same here although mine has just over 100k on the clock. Also when driving it appears as if there was a rattle noise coming from the left side, when accelerating mainly and at certain, rather low RPM's.
I am having same noise,did you manage to find what cause this knocking

mine has made this same noise from new. might just want the tappets adjusting. mines now done 112000 miles.
Hello there Harry Johnson, i got absolutely the same noise 😭 which is driving me crazy i bought my second BRAND new Citroen relay. The first one is 2018 2.0 and sounds much quieter than current one. The current one i bought in before 8 months ago and now i have done 31k milage and this noise appears early stage of the engine around 10k, and still going. I still dont have solution for the problem and the noise becomes louder and louder. Please mate contact me if you got any solution or diagnostic information.
Mines doing that much quieter but getting noisier. Did you get to bottom of it I’m still under warranty Citroen said it’s normal. Not having it.
Are you with toomeys?
I had my ecu read when a fault code came up. It reported fuel injector which would make sense. I took it into toomeys and they cleared the code and said its oil, and I need an oil service. (I had one 9 months before with less than 9k since. They are lying scumbags. They have now made it worse. And I have heard that they can delete certain codes so the ecu never brings them back up. But indont know if there is any truth to this
Hey harry we have 2 of these relays and they are both knocking super loud on idle same sort of miles . Have you had any joy pal ?
I took mine to toomeys in Basildon with an adblue fault only 19k miles they weren’t interested as the van had previously had a minor repair to the front end nothing to do with the adblue
They are not proper mechanics, they even brakes were fine after the worn pad light come on, they said they just removed the code and its fine a week later metal grinding sound when braking. I ended up fitting the new brakes myself. completly incompatent, i wouldnt trust them to pump up my tires
