I periodcially spray them and other rubber components under the hood liberally with 303 Protectant . And when I change my oil using a mechanics lift . I also liberally spray 303 Protectant on all the rubber components underneath . This to resist drying out and cracking .

How can I differentiate a rattle at idle caused by a failing engine mount vs a rattle at idle caused by a failing timing chain?
you can do the test where you hit the gas and press on the brake to see if the engine slops forward or backward and doing this in reverse as well
