- In today's episode I will show you all the before and afters of the renovation on the house we just sold. I also will take you house hunting with us in southeast Texas! It is gorgeous over there! Stay til the end and come along to Galveston beach with us!

Just wanted to say WELCOME! to my hometown of Houston, TX. We hope you enjoy it here. I spent a lot of my childhood in Galveston and surrounding areas on fishing trips with my dad. He loved fishing and I was his little tomboy who always went fishing and hunting with him. I still love going to Galveston and si center it's way to the south of where I live in Houston (Cypress), it's always an adventure. Again, welcome to Houston and the great state of Texas. ❤

Welcome to the lone star state! 🌟 We’re I’m the DFW area. Born and raised. I haven’t been to a ton of beaches, but do believe people think I’m weird when I say Galveston is my favorite. Although I did have someone tell me once, it’s a town of only riff raff. I disagreed. We always love to visit it. I love all the history. I love the historic homes. We like to visit the Strand. I hope you took to kids to La Kings Confectionary. Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn are a lot of fun. Take a tour of The Bishop’s Palace or Moody Mansion. You should also take the kids to either Pleasure Pier in Galveston, or to the Kemah Boardwalk. It’s closer to Houston. There’s just so much to see and do. And I totally agree. The sand there is better than any other beach I’ve been to. 🏖☀️
You two did such beautiful work turning your old house into a modern but classic beauty. Congrats on the sale! Can't wait to see how you transform your next home too. I enjoyed the tours and I'm a bit jealous. After a decade+ in AZ I miss stairs 😆 Congrats on the move, Cory!

I love the 50s, 69s and yes the 79s esthetics and builds. I actually liked at least half of the before of your old house. Also I prefer one story. All the wood in the first house for sale is gorgeous. I would never paint it. Same to be said about the woodwork on the second house. Also all those bathrooms is nice. The third was okay. It's going to be fun seeing more from you

Man, yall did an awesome update on this lovely lady! I never have understood why builders have to smoosh the kitchen ceiling so low! Keep it tall felllas! As beautiful as your previous home was/is, I am in love with the sunroom, patio and the yard! I would purchase a house just for those things. lol I love the retro vibe of the three 'maybe' houses, but it's the second one that calls to me. Thoughts and prayers for an easy transition in your move.

Love your present home and what you did with it! I don't think I'd want to leave! Those houses in Texas were way too big and gaudy for my taste. I'm not a big house person, but with 5 kids I guess you have to keep that in mind!... I did enjoy seeing that beach thou! 😀❤️
Thank you Janet. The house we are buying in Texas is actually 200sqft smaller than the one we just sold in AZ, but it does appear bigger! Like they say, everything is bigger in texas.
We live in Houston, it gets pretty hot here. But Christmas in shorts and flip flops is great.
Yes we are used to that type of Christmas in az too! I actually enjoyed the humidity when we were house hunting
You need to your the homes on The Strand when you get back to Galveston. Especially the Bishops Palace. You will love the architecture!

Wow! I can’t believe you are moving to Houston. I was born and raised in Houston and spent all of my life there (58 years) until 2 years ago when I moved to the Texas Hill country. (Northwest of Austin). Let me know if you have any questions about it. There are pros and cons. Galveston is a hidden gem with a rich history. Y’all did an amazing job with your old house, it’s beautiful.

@@DesertDIY the first thing that comes to mind is to avoid traffic don’t drive toward downtown in the morning or away from town in the afternoon (4-6). Houston does have a lot to offer. There are lots of good food restaurants, especially fresh gulf seafood. Moody Gardens in Galveston and Kemah Boardwalk are great places to take the kids. You have beaches to the south, piney woods to the north, and rolling green farmland to the west. Great antiquing in the Round Top area. Oh and the best Tex-mex food is Gringos!
XO Macenna is over there somewhere. It would be great if you guys got together for a shopping spree or something.

I got a dresser from the 70s, solid wood (wish I can show a picture) that the younger generations have basically vandalized (magic markers, stickers, grown kids at that). What grit should I start with to remove the tacky graffiti and pale yellow color? Hope you love SE TX (in West TX myself).

I have never heard of it being banned, it is mostly in older homes.
